Web of Fire is a decent game IMO, reason it goes for so much as it had came out near the end of the 32x's lifespan and got a limited run of like only 50,000 copies or so.

This video is... hard to watch for me. I used to own a LOT of games, like my own stuff i bought as it came out going back to the NES. Then early 2000s i got into collecting and i had a bunch of good stuff there. But... having to move around and downsize and paying bills. At the time i didn't think much of it, i thought eh I'll go buy back stuff later. I could probably have retired off the stuff i HAD. Seriously. Ouch.
I'll never forget when I turned 16 I came home to find my mom had organized a garage sale and without my permission had sold off a ton of my games for pennies on the dollar that to quote her "looked like they were for kids so I didn't think you'd want them". This included The Misadventures of Tron Bonne and multiple other heavy hitters including Panzer Dragoon Saga. We literally didn't talk for a month, and looking back I don't even think that was teenage sulking, I think that was justified sulking.
Yep a couple of years ago I decided to start collecting guitar hero stuff again and luckily I got in before the prices really got stupid. For the PS3 version people were asking up to $80 just for the dongle, pretty insane.
For real, some of those guitar hero controllers cost as much as real fucking guitars! I bought some PS2 guitars at my local game store. $40 a pop. Even that’s sick!
@@Ckoz2829 I opted for the PS2 version as well. It's just too hard to find the necessary pieces to buy the PS3 ones due to the outrageous prices. I paid $40 for my guitars as well.
As a Rock Band enthusiast is feel you. I have a copy of Rock Band 3 for the PS3 and the full pro set up (Guitars/Keyboard/Pro Drum Set) I held on to after I bought them used back in 2014. Yeah tried to buy another PS3 pro adapter... F***** Obnoxious. I'm so glad I didn't sell my stuff. Lol
So fun fact about Torneko; it was actually the first MD. Not the PS1 version, but the SFC version we never got. Mystery Dungeon 2 was the first Shiren the Wanderer.
Seeing games like Rockband 4 on the clearance shelf and Mr Mosquito back when they were literally 15 dollars a pop at a gas station in the mountains really reminds me just why those games got passed on so hard. The value for them wasn't there in the day and now that they're "rare" they really aren't worth it any more to actually play. Stuff like this really keeps my collecting in check as I have a new copy of metroid prime staring at me.
@@ivanb4681 yep Mr. Mosquito is a really fun game and Mr. Mosquito 2 was even better but it only came out in japan, i still have the ps2 original disc jp only in a box.
Man, this is the first time I've heard anyone talk about that Teen Titans game. My brother and I played the shit out of it as a kid. The fighting mode was awesome, especially since it included basically every character in the show with more than five seconds of screen time
My grandma used to own Tail Concerto and I remember playing it when I was a lot younger. It left quite the impact on me as I went to emulate the game years later to finally beat it and I got Fuga for that very connection and loved it. Looking forward to the sequel
You should also emulate Solatorobo as well if you hadn't already. The characters from Tail Concerto also make an appearance in it too as side characters.
I always wanted to own Tails Concerto. I played the japanese demo on a demo disc, however the game didn't come to America until much later. I emulated it later on and loved it.
I picked up Tail Concerto at a yard sale for about 10 bucks years ago, complete and in pretty good condition to boot. Feels good knowing I got something worth a pretty penny in my collection.
How can you not mention Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance as a holy grail? It's crazy how much Ike is known more for Smash than his own game. Radiant Dawn is also pricey but for whatever reason, only around a third of what PoR goes for.
I know it's bloody insane that the Brilliant Gamecube Fire Emblem game goes for so much money, heck it's easier to buy Star Fox Assault on the same system for less than a third than what the Grid Based Strategy RPG goes for, man I wish Nintendo could just rerelease the Gamecube classic along with most of the Gamecube exclusive library so to possibly to lower the prices on the Gamecube games significantly.
Thankyou Austin for mentioning Wolfchild. I played this on the Amiga and couldn't remember the name. This has been about 23 years of intermittently thinking about it.
I used to clear out foreclosures (I found some insane shit at times) and I must have thrown out 20+ full Rock Band setups over the years. I’ve always been pretty aware of retro game/TCG/other collectible prices and I still collect ABU Magic singles but I never once considered checking to see if the Rock Band peripherals were worth anything. I’ve seen dozens of them at Goodwill over the years.
It is very funny to hear that Futurama is apparently really expensive since I used to see it in second hand shops all the time for 10 or 15 AUD. Even now it's only like 30 AUD and that's on sites like Cash Convertors who raise retro game prices a lot these days.
I started game collecting in late 2012 (mostly jrpgs for the PS1 and PS2) and quickly deduced that I had to get my hands on as many as possible before it was too late and would be priced out. At this time I saw that prices for NES and SNES where skyrocketing and knew that the PS1 was next in line for the nostalgia buyers to jack up prices. So for the next 3 years I was collecting with a real sense of urgency and thankfully I was able to get my white whales (Valkryie Profile, Tales of Destiny 1 & 2, and the entire Suikoden series among others...) while not breaking my $200 limit per game cap.
I was incredibly lucky that a friend of my brother just straight up gave me his copy of Silent Hill 1 for free. I would never be able to afford it otherwise. You were smart. Unfortunately I didn't have a PS1 back then and I was also 12, lol.
I remember getting a 32x in 1997 when I was 8 years old. Meijers was essentially punting them out the door at that point for $25. I played so much Tempo and Knuckles Chaotix on that thing
crazy how AVGN was able to get his 32x at a flea market for $2.50 and stores wouldn't even let you give them 32xs for free back in the day and now the console has gone back to it's original 150 dollar value.
As a former Gamecube collector, I shudder at the price of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Had 6 copies of this sealed and traded them in 10 years ago for a fraction of what they're worth now 😢
Ugh, I brought one of the drum kits to a retro gaming store during the pandemic and they said it was worthless and offered to toss it in the dumpster for me 😭
They said that because they knew the value and they toss it then get it after you left. Damn i sold my drums for 75 like 6 years ago, i've should have waited longer x_X
It's like the 3rd game in a series. Look up Remote Control Dandy on the PS1, Tetsujin 28-Go and Remote Control Dandy SF on the PS2, and a spinoff Chosoju Mecha MG on the DS.
fun fact about myself; i worked at a game store years ago and one time we had got a steel battalion set in and i was excited. however the assistant manager called it, and it set back there for almost 4 months til one day it wasnt there. i asked since i was always asking about it, he had decied not to want it and sold it to a customer. sigh, it was a $300 stick at the time and we were selling it for $49 :P so you can only imagine my fury lmao
The price of Futurama has actually gone up in the Pal region in the past year. I got it for £5 back in the day and now its worth like £30. Great video again Austin, love em and keep em coming.
I just sold my copy of Tail Concerto for quite a bit. These games are really going for a good amount, but I am happy they at least are still being experienced and saved by Retro Archivist. Also, and no regrets, I love MS Saga. It's so unique and odd, that I find myself playing and completing it at least Twice a year. I wish there was a better, improved version like all the better SD Rpgs that have come out in recent times.
Heh, I have Pokemon Box. I never thought it'd become some kind of collector's item. I was a game reviewer for over a decade, mostly during the PS2 and GameCube era. I spent a lot of time building up a substantial library for both systems, visiting Gamestops and digging through used sections and bargain bins for anything interesting. Now I'm almost scared to find out how much it's all worth now.
I absolutely love Devil’s Third. It’s so incredibly stupid in every regard, but surprisingly playable, resulting in one of the ultimate “so bad it’s good” games. Despite the ridiculous price it commands on the secondhand market, it was only $30 digitally, and I was fortunate to pick it up before the Wii U eShop went down.
Collecting is actually worse in Canada. Most of our listings say they come from America, which means that they'll be adjusted from USD to CAD, which makes it more expensive, & if you do buy it then you most likely need to wait longer for it to arrive, which means it's more likely to get damaged during shipping. If game collecting sucks in America, it's 10x worse in Canada.
Pokemon Box's price is easy to explain - it was only available from the Pokemon Center stores online (and possibly the physical ones in New York and Japan), so not only did less people have access to buying PB, but less people even knew of PB's existence in the first place.
same deal with the official Gamecube Component Cables which make your games look better, those could only be bought through Nintendo's official website so a lot of people had no idea they even existed.
I'm so happy you brought up Robot Alchemic Drive! It was one of the first games I got that had the blue disc thing going on for some PS2 games and I thought that made my game rare in middle school lmao. Cool to know it's worth something now. I played that game on my PS2 so much as a kid back then and I really loved the weight the mechs had when fighting. The game was a bit annoying though since a lot of the missions involved not having certain citizens or characters die during the fight and you'd have to do everything all over again. And every time you destroyed buildings in that game the framerate just tanks mad hard. Dialogue is still cheesy and old school 2000s anime as ever. Definitely digging up my copy I have lying around somewhere in my house within my big stash of childhood toys and junk.
It's definitely a rough tear finding out you're in possession of valuable games, because on one hand, who couldn't use a bit of extra walkin' 'round money in this economy? At the same time, unless you bought a game with the explicit intent of selling back, it's gonna be REALLY hard to let it go. Growing up, trading in games to EB Games/GameStop/etc. has practically traumatized me from selling any more of my games. Because whatever little happiness that $6 store credit might bring doesn't compare to the lifetime of regret realizing you'd miss that game or console more than you thought. And while emulation is there to help scratch that itch... it's just not the same as popping in the copy you've held onto for years, that you probably bought with your hard-earned (or gifted) money.
The one that always blows my mind is the DemiKids duology on the GBA. I bought both of those games new, but then lost them in 2008 when I moved. I was able to buy replacements for both games for less than 30 bucks COMBINED. Now Megami Tensei is a much bigger franchise in the state so loose cartridges of those games are nearly 200 bucks each. Better hope I don't ever lose these ones again!
Thankfully I got Solatorobo only 3 years after it came out for $60 (launch edition w/ ost disc). I put it on my radar after seeing it featured in Nintendo Power and thinking it looked cool. Good thing I didn't wait too long lmao. I was blissfully unaware about the current prices for it until 2021, I was shook. Just so happened that I owned one of the most valuable DS games ever. It sucks too cus it's one of my favorite DS games and getting a real copy is very inaccessible for other people.
Silent Bomber was so good, I'm glad i got it for around £3, when most games outside of SOTN, were basically worthless. I'm also surprised Tron Bonne doesn't come up on more of these list videos, as it's expensive basically everywhere!
As a big pokemon guy, I still play Gen 3 pokemon frequently. If Pokemon box were closer to a few hundred I could justify it but thousands are insane. Pokemon is the only franchise I care about collecting and it seems there are a lot of other people that feel the same, and of course even more people hoarding and taking advantage of that.
I'd like to see a video about Japanese "kusoge" games. There seemed to be a lot of them for the PS2, I remember reading magazines back in ye olden times and seeing things like the budget game series that launched Oneechanbara. There was that one game that was about a schoolgirl becoming gigantic and... gameplay somehow? I just assumed it was an upskirt simulator, but who knows really since I've never heard about it since. That's what I'd like in an upcoming video, bizarre budget games that only came out in Japan with a kusoge feel.
It's worth mentioning that Torneko The Last Hope is actually the second DQ Mystery Dungeon game, and the first Torneko game on SFC was also the first ever Mystery Dungeon game
I feel like the comparisons to movies and music sort of undercuts how much more of a challenge it is to move games to other hardware. It's an interactive medium, and the means of interacting with it (the console and controllers) fundamentally needs to change on different platforms a lot more than the transition from a cassette tape to a CD would. And yes I know emulating is a thing, but I feel like people will recognize the difference between playing a game on a GBA versus a Switch far more immediately than they would between watching a movie on a DVD or on a streaming service.
I still have my copy of "Solatorobo: Red The Hunter" for the Nintendo DS, which I was able to purchase at a local GameStop when it was brand new back in 2011, and it even came bundled with a CD soundtrack containing music from the game. :D
A sad thing about MS Saga is that the battle system was actually really neat and kinda fun to strategize with. Of course the rest of the game was super mid but still. Also holy shit, Gundam vs Zeta Gundam is worth that much now!? I got a used copy for like $13 at gamestop a decade ago!
My gems are mostly sealed Dreamcast games, but I refuse to sell. I love having them. But thankfully, even rare games are only 150-200. I just buy one a month or so.
@@drunkensailor112 true. It’s probably mostly young people. Because when they say things like “omg it’s so much” I’m just like… uhhh… my electric bill is 200$ 😂 oh well… more for us right!? 👍
My question, is anyone actually buying these games? I think its just resale companies buying from other resale companies at this point. Ridiculous. Videogames should really be considered for Government archiving / Library of Congress.
Concerningly yes, people want to make a quick buck before the bubble pops, not caring that they're part of a giant scam. They're the NFT types. Hopefully it's scammers left out of pocket in the end and not just stupid but harmless people.
Thank you for bringing up Bucky O'Hare! It is a great NES run and gunner/platformer, it is a shame that the price is so high because Konami still owns the rights to it and will probably never re-release it. The NES and the extremely underrated Arcade Beat Em Up which has never seen a console port and imo just as good as the better TMNT beat em ups.
DIC was the studio that made Inspector Gadget, and several famous (in Europe at least) animation series, where animation was outsourced to Japan (which was pretty cheap at the time). I never thought anything about the name until now haha
I opened my copy of Devil's Third because the disc was loose inside the case when it arrived. Plus, I'm not a sealed game collector, but would be pretty cool to still have a sealed copy knowing what I know now
The outrunners reference was great also NINTENDOLAND IS THE BEST WII U TITLE. I've spent so many hours with friends chasing each other around in Mario Chase
Tbh I can see this happening to Balan Wonderworld. I haven't seen it in stores in almost a year and when I decided to get the PS4 version I actually ended up receiving the PAL version despite living in America lol
You really don't know why companies don't re-release their old games? It's a lot more complicated to release an older game on a new system than it is to re-release an album on a new format
Dot hack//sign waa an AMAZING series on toonami, idk about the game adaptation of it as i never got around to playing it, having only played the later games but i think ive heard good things about it, there's also the JP PS3 exclusive that was a multiverse brawler with all the dot hack protags, would've KILLED to get my hands on that, but its so rare there's not even guides for it.

Rarest game I own is Rule of Rose for the PS2 and it's in great condition, my uncle gave it to me along with all his other PS2 games when he got his PS3
I love that you brought up rare Gundam games. As a huge Gundam fan it’s extremely difficult to find a lot of these games. Even to emulate. Most never got a English release or if they did, it was only in Singapore. I actually own a copy of MS Saga and beat it! It’s pretty bad but I’m happy I played it. Now if Bandai would finally release English versions of the Gihren's Greed games I could die happy. :(

I was a military brat living a pretty unique life I guess. When we visited some family in 1996, I went to a Toys r Us to get a copy of vectorman 2. My father was there, and gave me the option to get multiple games to last for several years in Europe (NTSC not pal, back when region locked was a huge thing) and I guess I'm just now realizing how valuable my full collection of 32 x games is. They had a deal on 32 x games at $5 a piece, and I was able to get the Web of fire Spider-Man game for 4,99 + tax as well as several others. Cosmic Carnage, a prehistoric racing game I think call Joe and max, among many other. Half the library for less than 100.

I was incredibly happy when I discovered how expensive rock band guitars got. I thought they were worthless, but ended up getting about $250 for selling my single ps4 guitar.
16:34 I kind of take offense with "created the whole genre" line, when the "genre" is "roguelike, but for wee babies", and roguelike genre was created in 1980 with the release of Rogue
There is... *literally* no good reason for a video game to be more expensive than its original MSRP no matter how old it is. No, not even your favorite game ever. No, not even MY favorite game ever. My faves are not exempt from this philosophy of mine.
same deal with books, I recently bought an ultra-rare out of print tie-in novel for the NBC sitcom "California Dreams" cost me over 100 bucks to get it from Etsy but i've seen it for sale anywhere else so it wasn't like I could count on a cheaper copy popping up anytime soon.
@@drunkensailor112 Because monetary "value" is just an arbitrary number that does nothing to indicate the ACTUAL value of a game? Because it incentivizes bad actors to screw people over by selling an okay-at-best game at ridiculous markups? Because the original developers often refuse to do anything about it even when they're still running and have all the proper licenses to resell the games, especially considering that they have a strong profit motive (if someone's desperate enough to pay $200 for a game they'll *definitely* play a more reasonable price for it especially without the scarcity)? Because the only cost-effective method for some people to play and archive certain games, ie. emulation, is often targeted by those same devs when they're not even bothering to offer a legal alternative? Because I'm sick of how capitalism poisons people's minds to where they're willing to roadblock a large swath of the population from enjoying pretty much anything whenever possible for the sake of the almighty dollar??? Take your pick.
@@drunkensailor112 So I guess any treasured memories you've made with your loved ones have no value if you weren't actively spending money while making those memories? "Value" has much more meaning than simply "monetary cost", my dude. Creative value, emotional value, sentimental value, personal enjoyment value, I could go on. And even if it were just about monetary "value", it is still not a *good* reason to jack up the price of games to ridiculous amounts. Key word being *GOOD* reason, not just *a* reason. I understand how supply and demand work functionally, and that's not even remotely related to the point I'm trying to make. I just don't consider "supply and demand" to be a GOOD reason to make every little goddamn thing in the world so expensive to the point where the only option for some people to get any modicum of happiness is to either go broke or risk their or someone else's arrest, and I'm far from being alone in this thinking. But I can't expect someone whose argument can't even begin to address any of the *actual* problems I have with conflating monetary cost to the full value of a creative work to actually understand where I'm coming from. Get your ass back to econ class if you're not going to bother even attempting to understand that there's anything in this world more valuable than cold hard cash.
Hey guys I know this video is 2 months old, but if you want to play rb4 on the ps4 or ps5 you can find a wii guitar for a little under $50 (or less than $15 if you get lucky at goodwill or any thrift shop) and you can buy a dongle for and have it paired to a ps4 or 5 and since its wired you wont get punished by latency or input lag, I shilled out $325 for a band in the box I enjoy it so much but I would really recommend going the cheaper route if you really want to have fun and relive the hype of rockband.
I pre-ordered Devil's Third which launched with around only 420 copies at US launch. It was my favorite Wii U game for so many months when the multiplayer was live.
And stuff like this is why emulation and previous generation software archival is so important, so that all gamers can enjoy the incredible and lesser known games of our past can be enjoyed by those of us that loved them and can share them with future generations without spending thousands of dollars because of resellers limiting supplies and spiking prices to astronomical levels One of my favorite games of all time SpikeOut Battle Street goes for over $300 now and that just hurts me in the childhood, Ps: am I the only person that had Batman Forever on the Genesis as a kid that got good at it, liked it a lot and used to get psyched to play it everytime they watched the movie And Devils Third is just an awesome game that should have been a multiplatform release CAPITAL PERIOD
for the most part i quit trying to buy games unless i see them cheap at a yard sale or something so many prices have skyrocketed and keep rising nonstop
To be fair, Pokemon Bix wasn't intended to be a "game" per se. It was a necessary addition to the physical game's lack of storage space. Especially if you had all previous games and caught em all there. It functions essentially the same as Pokemon Home does today, but with less online features.
7:13 There isn't really a place for Pokémon Box Ruby/Sapphire anymore though. Why? Gen 3 -> Friendpark -> Gen 4 -> Poképorter Minigame -> Unova 1 Trade to Unova 2 -> Poké Transporter -> Pokémon Bank And presto, your Pokémon are save for the foreseeable future. You can even upport them even further to Pokémon Home but you better make sure that your High Effort Monsters aren't stuck there until a different Regional Dex arrives to let them out of storage limbo...

I, Like many others, ended up just throwing all my rockband stuff away, when no one wanted it. Now its just crazy how pricy they are.
Mr mosquito is awesome though...
The fighting mode was awesome, especially since it included basically every character in the show with more than five seconds of screen time
the rarest games are the friends that we played along the w- wait a sec
Tbh I consider my Pokémon as my friends so you’re not wrong 😂
My grandma used to own Tail Concerto and I remember playing it when I was a lot younger. It left quite the impact on me as I went to emulate the game years later to finally beat it and I got Fuga for that very connection and loved it. Looking forward to the sequel
never going to get over giving away my copy of solatorobo to my ex
That's not even that bad. Look at the collectors edition of fates.
Wait. Path of Radiance is worth something? I have my copy an replay it every now an then.
This is why emulation is an option
Wait is it worth money? I have it for GameCube
Thankyou Austin for mentioning Wolfchild. I played this on the Amiga and couldn't remember the name. This has been about 23 years of intermittently thinking about it.
The Amiga was the greatest thing ever
So for the next 3 years I was collecting with a real sense of urgency and thankfully I was able to get my white whales (Valkryie Profile, Tales of Destiny 1 & 2, and the entire Suikoden series among others...) while not breaking my $200 limit per game cap.
good to hear. $200 is way too much for a game.
That's awesome
I was incredibly lucky that a friend of my brother just straight up gave me his copy of Silent Hill 1 for free. I would never be able to afford it otherwise. You were smart. Unfortunately I didn't have a PS1 back then and I was also 12, lol.
Same here. Sadly with the xbox 360 closing, those games are gonna skyrocket so l’m focused on those right now
I remember getting a 32x in 1997 when I was 8 years old.
I have zero interest in 32x. There's nothing good on it worth playing that isn't available elsewhere. Let someone else throw thier money away
@@topchief1 Knuckles Chaotix is good tho
As a former Gamecube collector, I shudder at the price of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Had 6 copies of this sealed and traded them in 10 years ago for a fraction of what they're worth now 😢
Please make more of these videos, I love to know more about poorly sold and expensive video games, especially hidden gems.
I actually had R.A.D. Robotic Alchemic Drive, at one point. It's such a unique game, it's a shame that it hasn't gotten a re-release of some kind.
It's like the 3rd game in a series. Look up Remote Control Dandy on the PS1, Tetsujin 28-Go and Remote Control Dandy SF on the PS2, and a spinoff Chosoju Mecha MG on the DS.
@@badtzmzo i don't remember Tetsujin getting a game for the Ps2, but i do remember Giant Robo having one, similar gameplay
fun fact about myself; i worked at a game store years ago and one time we had got a steel battalion set in and i was excited. however the assistant manager called it, and it set back there for almost 4 months til one day it wasnt there. i asked since i was always asking about it, he had decied not to want it and sold it to a customer. sigh, it was a $300 stick at the time and we were selling it for $49 :P so you can only imagine my fury lmao
I would've been so upset. I still need to track down a copy myself
The price of Futurama has actually gone up in the Pal region in the past year. I got it for £5 back in the day and now its worth like £30. Great video again Austin, love em and keep em coming.
still cheap compared to the U.S. where I had to spend 100 bucks on the Xbox version.
@@jadedheartsz some encouragement for importing and de region locking consoles or importing a PAL xbox 🤣
Cool flex
I absolutely love Devil’s Third. It’s so incredibly stupid in every regard, but surprisingly playable, resulting in one of the ultimate “so bad it’s good” games. Despite the ridiculous price it commands on the secondhand market, it was only $30 digitally, and I was fortunate to pick it up before the Wii U eShop went down.
Lol, the bread and water soup they are talking about in 31:00 is actually a thing you can find in polish cuisine.
Collecting is actually worse in Canada. Most of our listings say they come from America, which means that they'll be adjusted from USD to CAD, which makes it more expensive, & if you do buy it then you most likely need to wait longer for it to arrive, which means it's more likely to get damaged during shipping. If game collecting sucks in America, it's 10x worse in Canada.
i'm assuming the shipping fees is bad as well?
Does anyone remember the commercials they’ll do for the 32x?
I like the Japanese Saturn games a bit more!
I wanna cry thinking about the games I traded in to GameStop when I was a kid
I want to say Austin has talked about them before ? At least he went into Oneechanbara and It's roots I know for sure.
You are thinking about the Simple Series. Quite a few got PAL releases.
I remember buying The Twin Snakes for the Game Cube for like 20 bucks some years ago and now it goes for like 120. I’m glad I bought it when I did
for real, i bought it for 20 the same exact same year everyone hiked up the prices. "rare" game my ass. lol
It's worth mentioning that Torneko The Last Hope is actually the second DQ Mystery Dungeon game, and the first Torneko game on SFC was also the first ever Mystery Dungeon game
Every day I count my blessing that I got some more of the more absurdly priced games before the retro price hike
Don't think that your ATHENA ELITE WRESTLING references go unnoticed or unappreciated around here. Cuz they don't.
Keep 'em coming for sure. 👍
I still have my copy of Silent Bomber and its such a underated game. I love it so much
27:37 The PS2 version ALSO supports widescreen and 480p... I know, cause that's how I play it!
If you don't do a Steel Battalion and Gun Metal video with that setup, you are literally doing the world a disservice. WE NEED.
My gems are mostly sealed Dreamcast games, but I refuse to sell. I love having them. But thankfully, even rare games are only 150-200. I just buy one a month or so.

My question, is anyone actually buying these games? I think its just resale companies buying from other resale companies at this point. Ridiculous.
Videogames should really be considered for Government archiving / Library of Congress.
It really should. Hopefully at some point Jim the future, it will
some actual humans are buying them because they think it'll be worth a lot once they get it graded.

i sold one of my copies of pokemon box for $90 like 10 or 15 years ago and i thought that was a LOT

My father was there, and gave me the option to get multiple games to last for several years in Europe (NTSC not pal, back when region locked was a huge thing) and I guess I'm just now realizing how valuable my full collection of 32 x games is. Why?
@@PuppyLuver256 value is simply supply and demand. That dictates the price. Nothing else.
Hey guys I know this video is 2 months old, but if you want to play rb4 on the ps4 or ps5 you can find a wii guitar for a little under $50 (or less than $15 if you get lucky at goodwill or any thrift shop) and you can buy a dongle for and have it paired to a ps4 or 5 and since its wired you wont get punished by latency or input lag, I shilled out $325 for a band in the box I enjoy it so much but I would really recommend going the cheaper route if you really want to have fun and relive the hype of rockband.
...Oh dear, I guess I should never let go of my complete copies of Tail Concerto and Solatorobo then
I pre-ordered Devil's Third which launched with around only 420 copies at US launch. It was my favorite Wii U game for so many months when the multiplayer was live.
And stuff like this is why emulation and previous generation software archival is so important, so that all gamers can enjoy the incredible and lesser known games of our past can be enjoyed by those of us that loved them and can share them with future generations without spending thousands of dollars because of resellers limiting supplies and spiking prices to astronomical levels
One of my favorite games of all time SpikeOut Battle Street goes for over $300 now and that just hurts me in the childhood,

To be fair, Pokemon Bix wasn't intended to be a "game" per se. It was a necessary addition to the physical game's lack of storage space. Especially if you had all previous games and caught em all there.
It functions essentially the same as Pokemon Home does today, but with less online features.

You can even upport them even further to Pokémon Home but you better make sure that your High Effort Monsters aren't stuck there until a different Regional Dex arrives to let them out of storage limbo...
