Blue and Golds are cheeky for sure. I've not seen one melt so quickly in ecstasy, lol, Dan is the man. Thank you for loving this beautiful soul Coco, making her transition as smooth as one could ever hope for their feathered friend of 30+years. ❤️👍
I agree, my family had a budgie who had free roam of the bedrooms during the day. He would go flying from his cage to my sisters desk to hang around and would occasionally fly around looking for me and would land on my glasses frames haha.
I'm just so VERY happy for Coco, knowing how she continues being well-loved & is given plenty of enriching experiences, & knows she is safe & content in her happy new home...I get choked up knowing how many beautiful & innocent parrots there are, (desperately needing the same love & attention) to be rehomed, are languishing in very poor conditions...I sure hope Coco's former parents get to keep up with her new life & family, as imagine how happy that would make them❣
Yep. Bird owners totally understand wanting to stay home with their birdies! After all, they are your family... your children that you love and care for. I have 3 budgies.♥️🐦🐦🐦♥️
thank you for adopting both Coco and Lego and giving them the loving and secure home that they deserve. they are such beautiful birds. I think that all birds should be wild and not put in cages as pets!!
I agree. A few years ago, I inherited an unwanted pet bird, a little thing whose species I can't quite recall. It didn't matter. I loved his company. Sadly, being an empathetic soul, it tormented me so that I couldn't release him in good faith. I didn't know how he would get on, whether he woukd starve or succeed, having been raised in captivity, but he so clearly wanted to fly freely. I'd let him fly around my house all day long. Cleaning the poop up didn't bother me. He was able to fly and that's all at mattered to me. He was alone though, and that broke my heart. I couldn't take another one in, and I was too young and uneducated to ask for help from charities. It bothers me to this day that I didn't pluck up the courage to open the window and let him be free, and no amount of consolation can erase the guilt and shame that I feel for being so weak that I dare not let him fly free. They do not belong in cages, and It intolerable cruel in my opinion to cage them, which is why it's so soul cleansing to see birds untethered, remaining where they are. They WANT to be there and that makes the world of difference Choice.
Coco is a character!!! 🥰💕😄 This brings to light the need for fosters and adopters for those animals that far outlive their owners (parrots, tortoises, etc). It's very traumatic on the animal... and quite stressful for the surviving family members too.... so I love hearing these stories of people adopting senior pets that survived their families. Such an important topic! I hope more people do the same!
Thank you for being so kind to these poor birds. So sad that her family of 30 years couldn't care for her anymore. Thank you for giving them homes and for sharing their story. 🙂
Magnificent bird. She is lovely. I have a small parrot. She is 21 years old. My 29 year old cockatiel just passed. I had him since he was 1. Thank you for saving Coco.❤❤❤❤. My parrot has never flown. She doesn’t know she can. She goes all over Colorado on my shoulder.💙♥️💜
How beautiful. Thank you for giving these wonderful intelligent beings a loving home. Please make sure when they are outside that there's no predators around. God bless you and yours. Stay safe.
Touching and sweet. Those are some lucky birds to have landed with such a sensitive family. So many birds are so unlucky because people don't realize how much hard work goes into keeping pet birds. It is also expensive. Even so I think birds are an amazing pet but only for committed owners.
Birds are so stinkin smart and humans don’t give them enough credit. What a great story, and it’s heartwarming to see the affection from human to bird and visa versa 💙
It’s so weird that you say humans don’t give birds enough credit for being smart in a video where humans are giving a bird massive amounts of credit for being smart. 🤦🏽♂️
Thank you for rescuing and caring for that beautiful macaw. You are to be commended for macaws outlive their people and need to be in a will and left to someone else to give him or her a forever and loving home
Birds are more demanding than children. Birds are way more messier than children. Birds can live longer than children. Always do your research and adopt, don’t shop!!! Lovely story! Thank you!!! ❤
I like how this adoption process went. In terms with the previous owners, I understood why they had to and I won't think negatively of them. I really like how they gave the new owners their blessing and knew Coco would be happy and taken care of.
Unbelievable video from start to end. What amazing birds & people! We all know these birds are not pets but at least they are in the right hands when it comes to love & care ♡ Love Coco & Lego ♡
🤧 aww she's super gorgeous, bless you for taking her inn and giving her a terrific forever home, with a feather friend Lego. Cracking good video thanks for sharing 🖤😎👍
That is the GREATEST Feeling , when they attach to you ! My Blue & Gold MaCaw. Was 6 mos. Old & came to me , when I said - OOHH your BEAUTIFUL !!! He walked across his stand & just walked right up my arm !!
Thank you so much for rescuing that bird and yes everybody really needs to realize of a car is a lifetime commitment just like any animal but because can outlive you so be responsible if you can't take care of an animal that long don't adopt a macaw do not ever
Aw man, I feel so, so sorry for the original keepers. I can't imagine having the friendship of a beloved pet FOR THIRTY YEARS(!!) only to end up having to rebome them because your body has betrayed you and your health is suffering. 😔 That must feel like a double betrayal for the old keepers. They lost their lifelong bear friend, through no fail of their own, and their bodies are also failing them. That's heartbreaking. Nobody won in that horrific situation, but the beautiful birdie has been gifted another chance. Not so much for his thirty years family. That's so, so sad.
Im sure the family before are so happy that Coco has gone on to be so very loved by her new family ❤❤ . This is one of the big concern as parrots can live well over 50yrs and sadly will be passed through more than one family in that time
Coco and Lego (and Cesar) are so beautiful and adorable and bless you for adopting Coco and Lego and fostering Cesar 🦜😻❤️❤️❤️❤️!! Parrots (Macaws in particular) require a very long lifetime commitment and you provide that perfectly for them!!
The united kingdom very nice where exactly in the UK? Scotland or Wales england?? I'm originally from Norway bømlo precisely...but I live in the states.... do you love pets?
My sister has a blue&gold macaw that’s about 30 now and he’s awesome. I’m his “uncle” and he calls me uncle Malcolm and loves when I visit. He thinks I’m there to see him and will immediately come looking for me when he hears my voice. He also doesn’t like it if anyone else gets my attention when I visit and will tell people to “go away” if they interfere with our time. I absolutely adore him and in my mind he’s my nephew just like my human nephews.
I took care of a bird named sunny! He was very loud! You will never get used to the screeching they make! He was a red caped conure! He is still alive though! He’s adorable! I mean you will love him but, he bites! Hehe! 🙃
Any kind of parrot is a big commitment and a lot of work. I have two rainbow lorikeets and I can honestly say they are 10 times more work than my dog. But I love them so much and they love me too, most days anyway... they were wild birds that were in trouble when I found them and brought them home. Both of them learned to imitate my dogs barking to the point where I could not work out who was making the noise. They are free to fly inside the house and their cage door only gets shut for the night. Good on you guys taking on those beautiful macaws . Please be aware of birds of prey when free flying your birds.
Birds (parrots especially) live so long that a responsible bird parent will always make provisions in their will or trust to assure the bird will continue to be cared for. Check out Dan in Pennsylvania (USA) who is owned by Mr. Max the Cockatoo. Max's famous video is "Cockatoo finding out he is going to the vet" -- it has over a million views. Dan has decided to remain single to make sure that Mr. Max. is well-cared for, and has named future guardians
I admire people who take in macaws. It's such a commitment. You all have so much respect and love for these birds. Thank you!
Coco is a grumpy old lady! I'm glad she has a family who loves and understands her. 😂❤
They live about as long humans in captivity. 31 years is hardly a "grumpy old lady".
@@Xathos She has a grumpy old attitude tho! Telling people to shut up and stop it if they're being loud.
Such a sweet baby ❤❤❤
yeah but, those cuddles r hard to beat
Such a pretty spunky fun lady! She's In her prime so glad she got the family, house and happiness/feeling safe and wanted that she deserves!
Thank God those birds found the right family for the rest of their lives! Many blessings to all of you.

This is how birds should be treated at home. Freedom and part of the family.

Yes!
This is such a caring family to have done all they did to make Coco comfortable
What a great family for that bird to be a part of. Beautiful bird.
The responsibility of having animals is GREAT but the love of those animals is GREATER
those birds has a really long lifespan. A parrot raised by one family as a hatchling will outlive that family.
Yep. Bird owners totally understand wanting to stay home with their birdies! After all, they are your family... your children that you love and care for. I have 3 budgies.♥️🐦🐦🐦♥️
