Every beekeeper knows the bees are never happy when it rains. But for JP the master beekeeper, it's no problem (almost)! Watching you work is like watching a conductor direct an orchestra. Amazing.
I could listen to the rain and the thunder while you work with the bees for hours. Only thing that would make it better is if we could hear the sweet girls, too.
Linda, I always have LGO with me and use it quite often, usually to give the bees that little extra to get them orienting to the set up but if they've accepted the new set up and are fanning anyway, there's no need to use it. ...JP
Tsk tsk tsk, Schawee back at it again I see........ lol. cool removal though! I really love how you care for the bees and thoroughly explain your process !
When a friend won't accommodate you, while you're in the middle of doing him a big favor... it's time to reassess that friendship. You're doing his job, and he gets the bees? AND he stiffed you on a lunch invitation? Then he finally shows up, only to criticize your abilities? No! Hope you told him he has to come over and put the shed back together.
I love your commentary and how you mention your friend. Those bees are very calm compared to some Americanized bees I tend in Arizona. Keep doing what your doing man. We need all the bees we can get these days.
Another nice video, I appreciate you explaining as you go along. My removals are never as calm as the ones you and Bruce do. Ha thanks again or sharing and teaching.
Nice video, JP. Look forward to another. Hope your buddy Schawee recoups quickly. Thanks for the tips and your experience in bee removals. Keep it up man.
JP, with a friend like Supervisor Shawee, who need enemies? Just kidding, I hope he is doing better. I can't wait to get back down South and see those big rain showers. LA here I come. Did you ever think about using a headlamp? Great video, as always.
I own a small business too and have a few good buddies that are late and don’t always come through with what they say they will, I gotta say though... just saying “well I guess that’s how it goes” is better than letting it get to ya all day and bumming out about it!
His knee is doing a lot better. We had lunch the other day & I told him everyone on you tube has been asking about him. He said to tell everyone hello & that we will be back next season with more videos. ...JP
I'm sorry, but he should have just given you the bees instead of expecting you to do all the work and then free delivery. Unless you can expect him to cover for you some day. I like friendships but taking advantage of that friendship is not right. Just my 2 coppers!
As for the honey, I used to transfer and would end up with a mess, just like you said, because it was new and soft. Now I've gotten to where I almost never transfer honey, out of habit, and then I just feed heavily with sugar water when I get home. All the honeycomb goes out back for open feeding. I had several get slimed in my early efforts because I transferred too much honey. Rookie mistake. Thanks for another great video!
JP, I have been watching your videos for some time now and yet you consistently amaze me with which you just keep at it until your done. In this video I'm amazed that you kept this up whilst it is clearly raining. Doesn't the temperature dropping due to the storm make you think twice about even starting this? I would really like your feedback on this in particular if possible. Thankyou from Jeff from Australia. You are amazing JP, and thankyou once again for this vital information.
66otnt Jeff, this removal was performed in August when it's very warm out. Any dip in the temperatures this time of year the bees would have gladly welcomed. I promise you this! Working mostly from the interior of the shed the rain really wasn't much of a factor. Thanks for watching g Jeff 👍🐝🐝🐝
Enjoyed watching you tackle this from inside a shed :) . I may have to do something similar as I can't get good access to the outside due to the close proximity of a fence. I'm new to all of this and really enjoy seeing you accomplish all of these challenges that come your way. It's great to learn whilst watching but also great to see you work with enjoyment :). Thanks mate, for posting all of these...much appreciated :)
JPthebeeman JP -you mention what you do when you get back to the bee yard (feeding etc...) but I don't think I have seen a video of what you do when you get home. Any chance you could post a follow up to one of these?
Hey JP! So its not a good idea to put uncapped honey in your frames? I just did a cut out with nothin but capped and uncapped honey with some pollon. No brude, larva or queen... what do i put in the frames?
I only frame honey comb for the most part when there is a lack of nectar available. You have to be careful framing up honey comb. You don’t want it leaking onto the bottom board, a little is fine, too much can cause the colony to abscond. It sounds like the colony you removed was honey bound or swarmed. If no brood comb give them drawn comb or frames with foundation. They can use some of that honey you gave them to draw new comb. Did you find a queen?
@@JPthebeeman No sir, never found her. Pretty discouraged about it, I don't know how you make it look so easy but i only hope to be half that good lol. Your a boss JP! I was thinking honey bound just because everything was filled and the bees still had some good numbers, very aggressive. Still put them in a box with foundation and will try to get a new queen asap! Thanks for the help brotha
I'd kept the bees since I would have done all the work and used my wood work to put the bees in. Your buddy never kept his word to come and bring the box for the bees.
knee problems for Shawee...sounds like those milkshakes are catching up with him! That's a fat joke! Look at him, sitting inside the screen porch while you work. Shameless!
Why not calling it :”BEE COLONISATION” instead of :”BEE INFESTATION “, it should be an honour to have them for a while because, they do such an important pollinating mission for human being!
Full use out of you is a understatement, you do all the work, he gets the bees and whatever else, don't think so and he can't even show up, sounds like a bum to me.
you're being taken advantage of by your friend my brother if I was you and I did all the work I wouldn't be paying him nothing and I wouldn't be giving him nothing
Another great video Brother! I always enjoy the video's you post and you inspired me to try out a cutout of my own a couple weeks ago. If you get a minute check out the video, I'd appreciate any suggestions you have. it should be under my username cawhit676 or you can just look up "Bee Team Latrobe" Thanks for all the tips! Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next time
I know you made this video 7 years ago but I love this!
I like the way the bee clumps sound when JP moves them to a nother surface.
Yeah, he finally showed up Mike! Boy that was a rainy day man.

She's like, "this man has a knife and there's bees flying around in here and its pouring down rain. I'm going back in the house."
+Wil Morris Lol

I don’t know why but it’s always satisfying watching bee removal videos, especially these videos
Facts
Sounds like Schawee owes you four plates of lunch and two bowls of dessert for standing you up! Feel better soon, Schawee!
Tut tut! He looked a tad sheepish 😂😂
Yes a headlamp makes such difference, can hardly remember the "torch in the mouth drooling" days anymore. :) love your videos!
Thanks! Just purchased another drooling flashlight that may wind up being my all time favorite! :-)
Great video! I’ve been watching all your videos- finally one from good ole Gramercy, LA- my hometown!

She has to be manually released, something I generally do after 2-3 days.

What type of name is Schawee? Sounds like Native American.
It’s a nickname, in Cajun French means “Raccoon.”
Full use out of you is a understatement, you do all the work, he gets the bees and whatever else, don't think so and he can't even show up, sounds like a bum to me.
