Consider checking out Soquel Demonstration State Forest (aka "Demo") located in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Also, consider checking out Lamas Peruvian food truck, typically situated in the parking lot across the street from Caffe Mezzaluna.
Clearing "The Wall" at Skeggs on your first attempt was truly impressive (especially your display of trials skills). It took me well over double digits of attempts before I could clear the upper section of that climb! When you return, consider checking out the other trails at Skeggs. Though I live closer to the first set of trails between Pacifica/Linda Mar and Montara, I still prefer the "flow" of Skeggs. Thanks for capturing and sharing your experience an also for keeping the peninsula trails we consider to be "hidden gems" hidden :)
Thank you! I was so nervous coming into that section, and a little surprised that I made it on my first attempt! The whole climb back out was super fun, too - I wish I had filmed some of those bits. We started running out of light to film, but I'm definitely coming back to this spot for a ride before/after Sea Otter this year!
World class video production. Showing the best placese to get some grub ties it together. You covered the trails I would mention at the coffee shop. Keep it up. Love what your doing!
Oh man, I love this format! Please keep doing more MTB destination videos like this. It’s directly fueling my MTB vacation daydreams (or me adding MTBing to any of our existing family spots :). Top asks for destinations: Lake Tahoe CA, Portland OR, Arnold CA, Anything Vermont, Montreal-ish Quebec, Puerto Vallarta Mexico. Also, if you’re ever in the Bay Area again and wanna ride your sponsor’s namesake, lemme know and I’ll take you on some of the best rides (and food stops) in Marin County!
Definitely down to visit Marin! Those other spots would be awesome, too - I live in Portland, so we can easily make that one happen (when the rain stops)!
My backyard! You hit almost all of my favorite places. I didn't realize you used to live around here. I wonder how you feel like the MTB scene has changed in that time.
Such a great spot - I wish I had more time to ride some stuff off-camera. We tried to be sensitive to the hidden spots, but I still would've liked to have ridden them! :)
Well done on that climb! These trails are local to us and we are so lucky to have them. When you're here next, check out Briones in East Bay, or Demo Soquel Flow/Braille/Sawpit further south.
Great video. Made my lunch break fire. Ur homie fr brought u to the right spots. Im from half moon bay and the Tafoni sand stone is hella Area 51 type shi
Right on! You are going to have a blast at these spots! There's another bike park spot near HMB that we didn't get to ride, I think it's in El Granada?
You need legs for Waterdog and Skeggs! Lol. Even though you spoke highly of the two, most don’t come back because of the climbs! But us locals absolutely love it!
I love this format of video! I've wanted to start a channel myself that show cases not only the trail but the food spots in the area as well. Great Concept and video!
The fast conversion from rear wheel slip to trials hopping to clean that climb is so impressive. Well done, I really need to work on that sort of thing myself, smoothly integrating a trials skill on demand instead of premeditated is next level stuff IMHO. Also really enjoyed the high quality video work and background stuff. Makes me want to go on some cool MTB trips instead of just always hitting my local trails.
Thanks!! I've been wanting to make this style of video for a long time, exciting to finally put it all together. The riding out there was all-time, too - I'm going to go hit these trails again before (and maybe after) Sea Otter next year.
Awesome approach to vid making, too many people are paranoid/secretive about revealing the locations of awesome trails, like they are suddenly going to get over crowded and no longer be able to ride them or something...At best someone might visit a trail outside their state 1x/year because they saw it on youtube. Good on ya! Will also help build the mtb community and strengthen local commerce. Win win for sure!
Thank you! Definitely (intentionally) left the hidden gems hidden and got the blessing of the local crew, these are all the well-known spots. It’s a fine line, for sure, but hopefully everyone is stoked!
First try on the climb, no dabs! Looks like a great trip, even though you only had a couple of days, it sets the tone for what could be done in a weekend somewhere. Make a few of these and people could take the Super Rider mtb tour of the USA one weekend at a time, hitting all the cool spots and local attractions along the way!
My first time there, I couldn't believe there was so much trail tucked into this one area. I wish I had known about this spot when I lived here before!
Mile only got gnarlier over the past decade, I couldn't believe it! Probably didn't help that I had my suspension locked out when I dropped in, either! haha
You should check out Carlmont! It's on the opposite side of the waterdog hill and has some crazy gaps. You should check it out someday when you come back here!
That Pacifica Taco Bell truly is the best Taco Bell on the planet. Likely the best chain fast food location period. Hot take: OTOH Baja Blast is garbage. Livewire is the best alt Mountain Dew.
These are all unsanctioned trails, advertising these in this style is the lamest of lame. Can you post the location of your local unsanctioned trails please?
Pacifica, may be. Even then, this is well known as the dh trail on the SF bay area. Waterdog and Skeggs are all official trails publish on city of Belmont or Mid Penn’s website. He was sensible and did not feature the jumps at the first location, which I bet was of discussion if not sessioned.
I cried when I left San Francisco.....but not because I was leaving behind good mountain biking. It almost seemed there was a government conspiracy to make anything good to ride illegal or highly multi-use. It's sad because the terrain can be so good.
When I used to ride here 15 years ago, there is an official waiver one has to sign at one of the local bike shop, Gearhead??. The land owner was fully aware of the trail and what was built on it. Unless that has changed. i found this info back then via a quick google search.
Where should we ride next? Let me know!
you missed the carlmont jumps right behind carlmont high school! Some crazy trails there.

Thanks so much! This is the video I always wanted to have when I would go places with my bike, now I've got a chance to make them!
Taco Bell kept me alive while filming for my Street Trials video project! 😂🙌
Such a solid video that I’m commenting a second time
🙏

I love it, I been riding those trial for a long min. I'm surprise u didn't stay longer lol so much more to do.
I wish we could have stayed longer - we snuck out right before that big storm hit!

Right on, thank you! That Tafoni rock blew my mind...I couldn't believe my eyes!

True! John described Skeggs to me as a "credit card ride" - you have all the fun at first, then you gotta pay for it on the climb back out. haha
I love this format of video! I've wanted to start a channel myself that show cases not only the trail but the food spots in the area as well.

Thank you so much! This was a fun one - hopefully more to come!
I rode past you guys at Old Colma Rd while you were filming. Glad I got to see the final edit

Absolutely - you can get a lot of riding done in 48 hours, just about anywhere. Australia soon? Super Rider World Tour! :)
@@SuperRiderTV Sounds like a whole lot of fun! You might want to plan for more than two days though, this place is pretty big!
Love this area
Absolutely epic trails - but the zone around the trails was just as good! So many hidden gems.
LOL>..Waterdog! Awesome...Back in teh day when I worked in South SF I would stop there before heading home across the San Mateo bridge.
My first time there, I couldn't believe there was so much trail tucked into this one area. I wish I had known about this spot when I lived here before!
Definitely a hidden gem, we are fortunate that it is still open to MTB
That area elevated my riding in a lot of ways. Mile ate my lunch last time I rode it though😂 it’s getting gnarly at the bottom of the rock garden
Mile only got gnarlier over the past decade, I couldn't believe it! Probably didn't help that I had my suspension locked out when I dropped in, either! haha
Love this concept. Can't wait for your awesome perspective. The intro alone and I was planning a trip in my head.

Definitely adding that to my list! Thanks!
this looks amazing! so gonna hit these trails. Which santa cruz bike is that one hes riding in the video? Is it the Billet?
I believe so!
Soulgrind is the best. Too bad you missed Humble Sea
We didn't film it, but we went back to Soul Grind one more time before we left - that spot is so good! Humble Sea on the next visit, for sure..
@ Humble Sea in Santa Cruz is the best after riding UCSC and Wilder Ranch
marin is good rideing too
Definitely high on my list of places to visit next year - good call!
10:28 nice climbing!
Thank you! Glad to get that one done on the first try!
💯
Nice video!
It's a shame all the stuff happening to drive people away from CA.
I miss the west coast jank dirt jumps :)
Thanks! Was so fun to revisit my old stomping ground - and learn some new stuff, too!
I ride these Pacifica often. Next time check out Quarry Park, El Granada
Good call! I definitely had that on my list, but we ran out of time. I heard it's a lot of climbing, good for ebikes, does that sound right?
@@SuperRiderTV an e-bike would be a nice choice for that one. Very well maintained trail system up there.

Legendary spot! We had to include that one, for sure!
@@SuperRiderTV Speaking of that Taco Bell, do they serve alcohol? Thought I heard they did.
Not the Alice's Restaurant, a tourist trap cashing in on the name.
Yeah but cool place for car and motorcycle spotting
