I guess it's not a secret anymore, the mountains near Los Angeles are incredible! Now, go and ride these trails! I've included the GPX track and route info in the video description to give you one less excuse. ⬆😎👍🏻
This is truly a great video. My love pass a way in 2007 and having a companion to do these things with is wonderful. I am now 78 and still miss our times together. I do live in the desert and it is only 3 miles to dark sky's. Thanks for the inspiration to go out again if only for a few short days or years.
Hello from Ukraine. Your's videos are amazing, and your's channel - one of the best on UA-cam, based on a bicycle thematics. Thanks for all that you are doing, I'm already dreaming about little bicycle journey like these one.
When i fell down on my recent trip and sustained leg injury, it felt so painful that i could barely breathe for a minute. After assessing the condition of my body, Somehow I thought of you, and might have said to myself that alee would ride on. then all the worries and fear were gone. I could continue to ride, and shortly the pain didn’t bother me much and I completed my tour a few days after. It was some brilliant experience. I don’t usually comment and say things, but you’ve been such a huge inspiration to me, and i really wish for the quick recovery and good health of your mother. Hope you come to travel in Canada in the future, Alee!
Absolute gem. You and Laura make a great team, hope the collaboration won't stop here. Sorry to hear about your mum, all the best to all of you. Take care.
Heartfelt thanks for the effort, the editing, the music score and above all, riding this trail. Just a brilliant video, thank you so much for sharing! My best wishes go out to your mother for her recovery.
The absolutely best part in this video came when she displayed her beautiful chocolate teeth and smile! It is the little things in your videos that really make a difference.
One of the great tours of Southern California. I enjoyed the video and all the scenic aspects of it seen from a bicycle and that is one of the best perspectives. Hope all is well in life. Cheers from Oregon.
Hello, friends, I am writing to you from Antalya, Turkey. I've been cycling for a year. I've been watching videos of cycling tours on youtube for seven months. I haven't watched such a beautiful one. I enjoyed it very much, your camera shots, your travel route preference, everything was perfect. I want to watch your other videos with great excitement. And new ones too. Goodbye,
I enjoyed every single second of this, amazing.....what a bless to have a girl friend compagnon who enjoys so much, no complaints heard, great performance also. just fun. Wishing all the best to both of you. Thx
I love your banter back and forth, it's so organic and nurturing. Thanks for all your hard work editing this into a beautiful video! Stay safe out there, and well wishes to your mother!
Wonderful filming, wonderful route! Sorry about your mother. Hope she's soon healing. I've dropped out of cycling ( apart from very local rides when time permits ) myself these last three years to care for my mother who has dementia and is as helpless as a one year old child. Riding around the world was challenging, this is a greater challenge. Let's hope we both come out of it some day with lessons learned, greater patience and resilience, and ready to get back in the saddle and see more of this amazing planet with its amazing people and animals. Hope I haven't slighted plants inadvertently. Yes, they're amazing too.
wow what a good son you are! And know you know how much she actually did for you, when you were small and helpless your circle is almost complete bless you!
Alee, your videos are top quality. Thank you for posting your journey. I watched your tribute to Iohan. All your travels convey relaxing and contemplative mood.
Wow! I really enjoy your videos. By turns, they can be very technical and informative, or completely relaxing and inspirational. The videography is NatGeo in quality, and the music and running commentary are superb. Very well done, and thanks for making my day better!
As a 30-year Los Angeles native, now living in Denver, CO - it's nice to see a video from my hometown. There are things I miss about LA however, Colorado is significantly more bike friendly than the greater SoCal area. Glad you both had a safe trip and thanks for sharing.
Absolute top notch video, as usual. Love following your adventures, you've inspired me to take on my first multi-day bike trip ever in two weeks from now. A modest 3-4 days, but it's a start. I'll sure miss your videos, but a man's got to do what a man's got to do. If you've inherited any of your grit from your mom, I'm sure she'll beat this thing. Take care.
Wow, I just love California. I once drove from San Diego to Joshua Tree, it was in September 2018. It was so hot I wasn't used to it. I had to stop in Salton City. But it's so beatiful over there.
Welcome to LA. I watched this as a local trail runner and I couldn't help myself while watching by saying "I've run there, and there, and there this morning" while you were in the San Gabriel Mountains.
amazing documentary i was completely immersed and your soundtrack is outstanding ! I even saw some fellow unicyclers pass by... 🤙🏽 Totaly on my bucket list thank you so much for sharing you are very talented and your gf is gorgeous 🕊️
Enjoy your videos! Rode some of those trails when I lived in LA. Riding across country starting late spring, hopefully! Enjoy your break and GOD BLESS your Mom! Hope she is doing better! Happy New Years!
you provide a lot of beautiful footage and smooth editing in your presentations. quite a service on the side with all the beta a person could need to make good choices in a forest of bike products and modalities. not to mention, you just brought me back to J tree after many many years away from that sweet smell at sunrise.
I have always enjoyed your channel Alee, one of the best channels on UA-cam with incredibly high quality content. I hope you and Laura make a good future together as she's really so nice natured and enthusiastic, fit and healthy, and I know how hard it must be to follow your cycling passion and a family life, I hope she's up to it. I had to chuckle at Lauras attempts at pushing on her bars dismounted up those tricky hills. Does her bike have a steering lock? Would it be easier to push from the back with the steering locked. Another of my interest is mudfossils and it got me wondering what those rocks perhaps once were. Yes, I try to look for what was once biology in our rocks. Wishing you both all the best and please accept my small donation toward your equipment costs.
A total smash hit......out of the park! Thanks for sharing this incredible ride. You and the lovely young woman make an exquisite pair. That you both enjoy being out there on your bikes together is nothing short of magic. If is your mutual interest, I hope you can both find a way to make it last. Best wishes for your mother. God Bless. Looking forward to your next!
absolutly wonderful the images the story line the companionship one of the best videos I've had the pleasure to watch .ps wishing speedy recovery to your mother fair winds
Mt Baldy is actually 10,064 feet. Also, you should see the Joshua Trees in the New York Mountains closer to the NV border. They’re so thick you can only see about 30 m into them.
What a wonderful, entertaining, and professionally done video! You two look very fit and happy, more power to you both. My Priority 600X will never have the life that yours has. It has become more of a domestic 2.5" slick tire urban creature of late down here in flat Houston. We take every chance we get to go off into the deep grass and down any trails we can find. Be safe, get dirty.
Alee, Thank you for all your great videos and best wishes for your mother. I hope you can return to your trip to Alaska when she's healthy again. Plenty more great riding in California's coastal range all the way up to San Francisco (and beyond). I'd love to see what your creative eye would make of those trails and roads. Best wishes from Carlsbad, CA.
I grew up down south in LA. It warms my heart to see all the places I frequented. But I had forgotten how dry it is, if not for the few places where water could be found.
Such an incredible film with outstanding quality and content! The kind of video that leaves the viewer hoping for more. The "more" I would love to see is a view of the logistics behind this journey. Distance per day, water sources, camping conditions etc. As a simple viewer some of these films can appear so polished that one can be forgiven if they believe there must be a support team behind them to prop up the image presented. I doubt this in your case but many like me would love to see the details.
I just came across your channel. I live in Lake Arrowhead and have done this ride a dozen times. I often use it to get into shape and test my gear for other trips. It is near and dear to my heart. It is amazing, that you can be seemingly in the middle of no where, but you are still so close to so many things.
I love this movie Alee (and your other films too!): just ordered three of your e-books to thank you for it. Keep the great work that you do. It's inspiring.
The Glendora Road is well known for motorcycle Canyon racing. Locals call it GMR. There is a lot of traffic on weekends. Many car commercials are shot there also. Great job on the footage.
Great video, hard to believe you both can do this without much effort. More details would be great. I live in LA and ride some the same routes on a motorcycle, Good stuff
I guess it's not a secret anymore, the mountains near Los Angeles are incredible! Now, go and ride these trails! I've included the GPX track and route info in the video description to give you one less excuse. ⬆😎👍🏻
Thanks
excellent content
@@raymondgoodman9148 honestly, of anyone else in the game, Alee goes the distance when it comes to staying ahead of the information....
What month(s) did you ride this? Since you rode by Big Bear in short sleeves, I'm guessing not January...
Sooo grateful! 🙏🏽

I Lost My Love In 2019 and I am 78 also , I Miss Her Every Day . Sorry For Your Loss .

Incredible video. Loved it. Cheers Keith from Australia.
Best of luck to your mother! Hope that all turns out well! Great video. I live in San Diego, so not far from your route. That ride is on my list!
A stunningly beautiful film. Hard to imagine such contrasting landscapes just a few miles apart. Thank you.

Great video big fan from Philippines
I am enjoying watching this tour as I lived in Rancho Cucamonga in the 90s and toured most of these roads on my mountain bike .
Kühl. Laura is a star!!

I had no idea the scenery was so spectacular there, great video, thanks!
It is truly amazing how it is so desolate just a few miles outside of LA. Very few venture off pavement and concrete. Good for those of us that do!
Thank you for this wonderful video! It is great to see you both in this paradise!
I liked the trail. I'm from Brazil. I just discovered the channel. Good luck always
Awesome video! Mt Baldy is 10,064 ft. I live at it's base!

Yeah this terrain ain't so easy, I live on the pioneertown side and ride ebike and bicycle on the trails. These 2 are very adept
Wow, just wow!
Awesome. All the best to your mother in her battle.
I just saved this route but I’m going to do it in reverse. I’m planning on visiting Slab City and see some friends. Thanks for such a cool route.
Heck yeah, I'm gonna fo this to la and back to the desert in spring. In the JT area the route from the east is known as the back way to big bear
There is some access to the river, just off the highway, around Blythe I wanna say. You know the river hangout? It is enjoyable
That looks so beautiful.
Gorgeous film footage. Thanks for sharing
Lovely video - just awesome
Very nice video! Thx for sharing.
Stunning scenery. Loved this video. Hope to get there one day
Best wishes to your mother! Safe travels
Awesome ..thanks for this!
