Have never heard of charro beans, so we were intrigued. Canned up 4 jars last weekend.... result... we are making more this weekend! These are so good! Thank you for sharing what will be a staple on our shelves going forward!

Just saw this recipe and just by looking at the ingredients i already know they will be good. Im making these this week. Im going to add chipotle chilli pepper powder and some sweet smoked La Dalia Pimenton de la vera powder and a small piece of papalo to the ingredients. Also will Switch the chicken powder to the tomato chicken powder for even more flavor. I can hardly wait. Thanks for the recipe.

Jeni, you can also neutralize pepper residue on your hands by scrubbing your hands with a handful of baking soda and a squirt of dish soap. Works every time!
This recipe is definitely a keeper. I want all the seasonings in it. I have made the the ranch style beans and this is next on my agenda. Looks so delicious! Love the canning mat !

Question: New-ish to canning. Why tighten the rings once out of the canner? I’ve not been doing this 🤦♂️. Don’t the lids seal in the canning process, again, I’m looking for instruction not cutting down the video. I’ll be doing these tomorrow they look sooo good.

You only tighten the reusable Tattler and Harvest Gard lids!! Not the disposable button tops!
