Would be nice if there was a "always delete initial value when deleting automation clips" button in the general settings or something. I honestly can't imagine why anyone would want to keep the initial values after deleting automation clips in the first place.
Extra Tip: In the general settings -> Undo History -> Alternate Undo Mode, you can change how CTRL + Z works and make it so it does the CRTL + ALT + Z function all the time like other programs. (Make sure the Alternate Undo Mode is ON for that function to work)
To prevent FL Studio from creating 'initial values' for automation entirely. Enable the following setting: *Options > General settings > Advanced > 'Don't initialize controls automatically'*
Wow. Thank you so much for this. If I didn't watch this video, I think I would've discovered the new automation many months ahead, by accidentally double clicking a clip. And I didn't even realise that merging automation was a thing! I've learned more from this 10 minute video than from days of churning away at my computer. Really concise and easily understandable content. You have my appreciation.
He’s a marvelous communicator. And it’s so significant to learn how to save time!!! Maximizing the efficiency of production means more time for the creative process. Even these videos are concise. His channel is a great reference.
8:48 I can't remember how, but there's a way to have not init at this position automatically. idk who in their right mind likes having it on by default, but look around a bit online as to how you can remove it
I think you can set the amount of undo’s CTRL + ALT + Z will reverse in the settings. I have mine up to like 200 lol.. That hot key is a freaking game changer and it’s one I beat myself up for not knowing in my first couple of years
I can't express how this dude is important in my life and I don't even know him personally! Michael, thank you very much, thanks for your tutorials! These are the most complete tutorials I found on internet in only one place and with high quality and excellence in the explanations! I'm really grateful, now I'm able to create my songs after I spent basically the last year studying your tutorials to be able to it... and I already created my first song, it's just... a feeling from another dimension! 🥺 Thank you! ♥
Thanks, very helpful! I like how you go over small things even though you've probably gone over them a hundred times. Like the ctrl left click to select multiple clips - we all know that but in case there's someone who's very new they now learned a basic tip and it only added a few seconds. I love the way you teach.
I always find your videos extremely helpful. The one thing in FL that I really don't know much about is the default envelopes in plugins like: * Sytrus * FPC * Slicex * The Fruity Wrapper * ect An in depth tutorial about this powerful tool and how to use it would go a long way in allowing me to use only FL plug ins. Additionally, what to use the default equalizer for that available on each mixer channel. I never use them because I default to the parametric EQ for a lot of things. Once again thanks for all the help you provide the community. It's greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Michael, super helpful! Your channel is the leader of the pack when it comes to working with and in FL Studio, I've learned more from you than anyone else about working directly in my DAW. So definitely the educational content is valuable! Personally, I LOVE long-form production sessions, and 'making of' style content, even if it's just casual livestream, and even if it's repetitive or nitty-gritty stuff. I'd love to watch an FL Studio master at work!
Thank you for all these mazing tips all the time. One kinda easy quaestion that i probably miss and cant find it : How can i make the plug in in each channel appear below in small letters in the mixer?

Thank you very much, Again a professionally crafted video. Understandable, transparent.
just want to say a huge thank you for all your videos, i really struggle to learn from tutorials or spend hours watching videos and find i dont learn what i want from them but this is not the case with your videos, there easy to follow and the fact that you take your time to explain and show the techniques really make a difference x
Very helpful. I wasn't a big fan of trying to mess with too much automation ( I know, I know) but I got to just jump in and do it. These tools are going to make it so much easier.
I may have a little tip. as Michael explains about undo things several times at 5min50sec by pressing ctrl+alt+z . Press F10 to open the settings box , go to general , and on the right side of the window you will see (Maximum undo levels) where you can increase your undo level. Hopefully I can make someone happy with this little tip Michael , thank you so much for making all these fantastic tutorials . I have learned so much from you over the years and you are truly one of the only ones who explains it all so well and clearly. _ O _ ❤👍👍👍👌👌👌❤
Holy shit, for the longest time I have been thinking of switching my daw up just because I was so annoyed of ever using FL's automation system, but this just might be the dealbreaker for me to stay put. God bless you Micheal 🙏
Thank you for this video Sir, If I have learned something on fl studio it's all because of you....your tutorials are just perfect, the way you explain things makes sense your English is so easy to understand.... Sir I have a special request....pls show us how to use Fl Studio as guitar looper.....🙏🙏 Thanks again...love from Nepal ❤️❤️
I have been subscribed to you for a while now. I love your content and love seeing your channel grow. you put out quality videos and I appreciate the time you take to teach all of us music production.
Amazing as always and of course very helpful. We can go on with these new tips and hidden features in 20.9. As far as I have tested there really some additions with this new update. Cheers mate.
That delete initial value is a great tip. It's had me baffled for years haha.Seems to work for clearing that volume stuck position for whatever you've done.
Always super interesting to watch your new tutorials and you are so good at explaining everything super clear. Thank you so much for all your tips and lessons! I hope you keep doing this for a long time to come. I wonder what will come in the future hehe ❤🙏❤🙏👏💪👌✌✌👍👍👍👍
I just discovered you can automate the parameters on the automation editor. I just made a filter envolope and automated the speed to an LFO and it sounded absolutely nuts. Don't think it has many applications but it's cool af
One thing about using automation for a side chain effect, if you don't want a bunch of automation clips on the Playlist view, you can select the pattern you want to side chain, go to the automation tab on the channel rack and click them in on the beat you want the effect.
Would love to see what tips you could give for fruity scratcher. No one really touches that topic much but I feel like it is a good tool for just the few times I've used it. Paired it with my akai fire and had fun with it one day as well
I know how to automate in FL Studio, but the time it takes me to automate is enough to kill the inspiration of automating! Because of that, I'm online trying to find better ways to automate within FL Studio and that's why I'm here. I'm typing this while the ad plays, haven't seen the video yet. But I'm hoping you break down MUCH FASTER ways to quickly automate! I need to get familiar with some hotkeys and macros etc. Manually setting up points using the mouse is annoying AF!
Amazing video as always! I'd love to get a tutorial on how to get a nice acoustic drum kit sound! I watched your video where you introduced FPC and so on but I think there's still a lot more to learn when it comes to getting a great, authentic sound :) Thanks for the content
as always great video. I got FL OFFICIALLY couple years ago but im always just kinda eeehh about upgrading because my files, ect are kinda all over the place. I know they say u should just save your stuff externally and try it but i was wondering if there is a more simplistic way to just upgrade without messing up anything .
Hey, on the mac no M1 ship I am having the problem that the space bar is not playing and stopping track, instead its doing something else, have you heard of something like this?
I dont even use fl anymore but I dont mind receiving notifications from your channel, you're basically a savior for thousands of people lol.
What do u use now ..

You do have it. Settings > General > Advanced (list to the bottom left) > Don´t Initialize controls automatically. :D

@@inthemix No problem man! You literally changed my whole music journey. Thank you for all the work you have done!
that "sticky value" tip in the end is a real life-saver :)
i can imagine people going nuts over it, yet the solution is so simple 😂
In regards to parameters “sticking” there is an option in general settings “don’t initialise automatically” you can check.
I've been waiting for this video after the new update.
Wow, after almost 8 years of working with FL I didn't know about Ctrl - Alt - Z and also about the parameters that were stuck 😅. Thank :D

@Ova Facts yes it will
Well there's my life before and after your channel. You're a blessing to us all. Thank you for being who you are!
FINALLY! This has been my biggest gripe with FL for SO long, so glad to see it improved!
I wanna say thank you to YOU and the community for helping me better my craft.
This is one the best video so far for me this year hahahhaha. very informative. Thank you so much

I always struggle in gain staging all the instruments before starting the mix. Please make a detailed video on that. It would be very helpful.
