these are some great tips I'm mad I didn't know earlier. a tip of mine is to use the generators tab under the current project tab in the browser, which can give you access to the controls of any plugin and allow you to control them from there. this is a lifesaver when you want to automate a parameter in a 3rd party plug-in that doesn't support right click in its UI
That's cool, or you can also touch any parameter you wanna automate, then click on "ADD" in the upper left menu, automation for last tweaked parameter, so it will create the automation on the playlist.

One trick I usually use for de-noising is I take the recording of the instrument with the noisy background and a recording of just the noise and reverse the polarity of the noise. De-Noisers might be better though but I'm not sure since they both do the job pretty well to me.
Pressing the middle mouse button on anything (not in the playlist though) is a quick way to access the “Rename and Color” section of like a pattern/audio file or a mixer track etc

Many thanks yet again, Michael. My best tip -- once you have a few patterns sorted out, go to the Playlist, select all the patterns by right'clicking on the keyboard icon, and drag them all on top of the Track column. That auto-names a new track for each pattern, and puts an instance of each pattern at the start. If the patterns have colours, the tracks will adopt those too. My biggest gripe -- when I ask for 'random' colours, I don't want random colours, I want DIFFERENT colours. Yes, I know that's not what 'random' means, but it's what I want.

There's a trick that I discovered accidentally, but it has been my favorite ever since. All you need to do is 'Press the scroll button' on your mouse and then press the 'Right Click'. Remember that this action needs to be quick and it will open up tools window to select the different cursors and even other playlist options. Do like this comment so I can know if it helped you too. Midi capture is one of my fav features in Ableton, so its great to see FL does it one step better with selectable time lengths.. I assume it also works with overdubbing pre-recorded midi? That’s how I build up sections in Ableton, keep improving over a loop until I come up with something good - then capture it to a new clip/loop.

On the Playlist after you split by channel use the + and - buttons on the keyboard to select the pattern you want.
CTRL+ALT+Z lets you undo more than one step and its been SO SO SOOO valuable for me to know that!!
I love these FL Studio videos, they really help make my workflow more efficient so I can create orchestral covers better and faster
I worked in FL for years.
LOL
Didn't know about the background recording at all
You are simply awesome! :) thank you for your quality videos. Keep up bro
And thanks Michael for this video.
nope dont understand
@@STANLEY2BRICKS This worked for me on external mouse. Just press and hold the scroll button, the moment you release the scroll button you have to press the right click of the mouse and you should see a playlist tools and menu appear at the mouse location. I am not sure if this works on all versions of Fruity.
thanks for this man, really useful tips👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Woah they are not generic tips,. Very in depth. Thanks!
I am following your videos since a year now and all I have to say is that I've learned a lot from you. Honestly, I cannot thank you enough.
I haven't opened FL in the past few weeks. Watching this has me excited to jump back in. Thanks for the tips. Looking forward to your FL 21 videos!
Best FL Studio channel hands down! THANK YOU!
The best tutor, teacher and lecturer there is on UA-cam. you've taught me every valuable thing there is that I know in EDM. Thank you.

What I surely will use in the future is de-noise, plugin sampler and the trick with the automations!
Thaaaanks man! :D
That automation clip Slide Tip was like a treasure to me, Thanks Mate
Patcher is an incredible plugin that i use a lot, merging many synths together, combine with FX and tons more, and if you want more than 8 FX on a mixer channel then load patcher in this and add limitless amounts of FX in this instead, it is super underrated actually
Love your channel so much. This video is a very useful recap of so many nice features that can improve our productivity. Was not aware of the Layers yet. Thanks a lot. And hey, your jacket looks great! 😊❤️
I learn so much watching your videos. Definitely the best for anything fl studio related on youtube
4:02 instead of F7 you can also click on miniature piano roll representation in pattern. It essentially does the same thing.
More comfortable for some laptop users that have F keys assigned for different purposes like screen brightness or volume.
Good point!
That automation hidden feature is a life saver forrealllll!

Thanks Michael. Your videos really helps everyone.
This has to be one of the most helpful videos I've seen. Made life a whole lot easier. Thanks bro your videos are gold 👌
Thanks Clayton!
Oh my god the scale all levels for automation would have saved me a BOATLOAD of time when going through and redoing a mix after sound checking on a system lol... pure gold in this one again lol
good god I learned so much from this... I thought your channel rack was fixed and that one tip alone was worth the entire video! Thank you for the help!
Your tutorials are pro level bro🙌🏾💯
Also, you can drag preset plugins into Patcher just like you can with a mixer track. It saves TONS of time if you want to compartmentalize new patches you've accidentally stumbled upon!
I wish I watched this video when I started. Everything so useful! Thanks man!
That 1:51 is a real life saver since I found out about that one.so often I just play without recording and cant play it again
Please share a video about panning the instruments!
How to pan backing vocals, chorus and all other instruments.. (panning level)
Thanks. There were a whole lot of useful tips there, especially the de-noise tool in Edison and pretty much every other tip after that I had no idea about and will definitely use!
That scale levels tip!!! Been wanting to know that since a long time! Life saverrr!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Crtl Maj Z to redo / Ctrl Alt Z to undo / select some clips on the playlist and do ctrl + g to group them in one clip
The moving preset over to another channel is a gamechanger!
Thank you for sharing all of these useful tips 🙏
Just wanted to say thank you for another useful video about FL Studio. I just started producing electronic music and learned almost everything from Michael.
Holy dude... This was such a helpful & appreciated video. Thanks yet again. You're a pure blessing for our planet🌍🎶
OMG I didnt even know almost all of these features existed!
this is a game changer!
Thank you SO much for making this video!
So refreshing!!!! Thank you, such tips are very useful to be mentioned in a while. Sometimes we need to refresh our way of workflow. Great!
Guilty as charge:
- I dont use Current channel. Never ever comes to my mind
- I negrelct 3 Band Eq as well. It is so frustrating. I mean it is literally right there :)
Thank you once again Michael.

i know many useful tricks inside FL studio but they are not worth mentioning since i learnt them in this exact channel lol . yeah your channel is really helpful. thank you
Midi capture is one of my fav features in Ableton, so its great to see FL does it one step better with selectable time lengths..
I assume it also works with overdubbing pre-recorded midi? That’s how I build up sections in Ableton, keep improving over a loop until I come up with something good - then capture it to a new clip/loop.
How can anyone dislike those very helpful tips?
This is gold, thank for that, Michael!
