- We traveled to central Arizona and dined at the Secret Garden Cafe, Indian Gardens, Tamaliza, Javelina Cantina, and Black Cow. We visited the area to experience the diverse landscapes of Coconino National Forest. We drove to Sedona, an Arizona desert town that is known world-wide for its red-rock buttes, steep canyon walls, spiritual vortices, and art minded community. The vortices propagate an energy that is conducive to healing and meditation. The community creates a vibrant art district lush with New Age shops, spas, and galleries. And the landscape attracts adventurers world-wide to experience the grandeur of the canyons and red rock formations. All of these features create an atmosphere that is ripe for sprouting restaurants that are keen on natural, sustainable foods with creative, multi-cultural tastes that, much like Sedona, are out-of-this-world.

Secret Garden Café
Located within the Tlaquepaque (tuh·lah·kay·pah·kee) Shopping Village, the Secret Garden Café is a charming eatery with one of the largest and most inviting dining patios in Sedona. Even in the winter, they cover the area and provide warm blankets for guests. This European-style bistro serves up everything from scratch, using fresh and healthy ingredients to keep their customers satisfied.
Indian Gardens Café and Market
The Indian Gardens Cafe and Market is away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Sedona in a beautiful, historic red rock setting with a great shaded patio. But the food is what sets this place apart. (- and the reason Trip Advisor ranks this #6 out of 165 local restaurants.) The breakfast sandwiches and bowls are made with fresh, often organic, ingredients - and the artisan coffees are the perfect complement to these meals.
Tamaliza Café
The Tamaliza Café is a family-owned, cafeteria-style restaurant in a humble dwelling with traditional Mexican decor. What this eatery does is simple: they turn out the best homemade tamales that would make Abuela Garcia jealous. These corn masa staples of mesoamerican origin are made fresh daily with no GMO, no lard, and no processed foods. The recipes are authentic and use the freshest ingredients, resulting in a tamale that rivals any I have ever had.
Javelina Cantina
Javelina Cantina is a local and visitor favorite alike, turning out Mexican dishes and margaritas while providing spectacular views of the nearby red rock formations. The fun, easy-going atmosphere and high quality food make this place extremely popular, so arrive early. They provide many of the typical Mexican food favorites, including specialties such as pork carnitas and carne asada street tacos.
Black Cow Café
The Black Cow Café is a local, family owned establishment that offers special treats such as house-made pies, hot dogs, coffee and award-winning ice cream. While the pies are to die for, you would be hard pressed to pass up the prickly pear ice cream, a popular flavor that is a true crowd pleaser.
Wow a commercial right off the rip
Very impressive
Looks very peaceful place and food looks amazing. 👍🙂
There are few places on earth that give such a great vibe as Sedona. Thanks for commenting.
It would be nice to know WHEN you guys went…like what month?
Those places look amazing. You can also add the famous Elotes cafe to the list for award winning cuisine and million dollar views.
I can honestly say the only reason Elotes was not included is that we were never able to get a table. Obviously a very popular place. We typically go to great lengths to get great places on our lists - but Elotes has eluded us. :-(
Wish I would of stayed in Sedona; instead of Phoenix. Drove up to Flagstaff and had a Mama Burger dam good. Great video.
Awesome video. You've made us really excited for our stay in Sedona.

You’re welcome! It was a joy visiting those places and putting the video together. Glad you enjoyed it!
Is really good Tamaliza♥️🙏
I have had some good stand-alone tamales, but the presentation of these tamales as a potential meal is unsurpassed. We love it! Thanks for making the note!
