I was born and raised in Southern California. Mexican food was almost on every corner and IT WAS GOOD! When I moved to Arizona...I thought it would be like SoCal since it too was a border state. Well...I've yet to find really good Mexian food, I was shocked! I'm sure it's around somewhere, but I've yet to find it. I guess I'll have to drive to all the places Jeff just described.
Lived in AZ most my life, Cali Mex food is so much better, specifically LA. There are not as many hole in the wall places, or even taco stands on corners like in Cali
@@muhweei1516, I would agree with you. AZ natives think I'm crazy, but I tell them...go to SoCal and eat their Mexican food. You'll see the difference.
My short list of favorites: El Ranchero in Wickenburg. The Navajo Taco food trucks at the Four Corners. Jerry's Restaurant in Safford. Haunted Hamburger in Jerome. Crown King Saloon in Crown King. Pies at Rock Springs Cafe on I-17. Locally in Phoenix; Chicago Hamburger Co on Indian School. Pete's Fish & Chips (anywhere). Miracle Mile Deli on 16th St. And, the best breakfast burritos are at Los Betos (32nd St & Greenway Rd). Of course there are many more places, but this is a good start. Cheers! my daughter goes to FLAGSTAFF NAU and its beautiful out there, we are already planning a complete move from Hawaii to Arizona yet no tentative date yet, love the road trips OATMAN, KINGMAN, WILLIAMS, SELIGMAN, SEDONA, JOSEHP CITY, WINSLOW and HOLBROOK, we are eyeing on SCOTTSDALE area or TEMPE to get a place
Thank you so much for another great video! Have been meaning to thank you for a while- My mom and I discovered your channel way back in 2020 and it helped us make our final decision to make the move (to Chandler) in July all the way from Mississippi. We are bringing our politics & hoping Californians are on their way out LOL. Can you suggest a good place to see/view NYE fireworks from the valley? Do they even do fireworks for NYE around here? Thanks!
La Bamba Tacos in El Mirage is great. Italian restaurants are (so far) Uncle Sals (scottsdale), Adela's (phoenix), Fabio on Fire and Twisted Italian (both in Peoria). Steaks. Preston's, Dominic's (scottsdale). Durants's, Steak 44 and Stockyards (phoenix). Flemings (glenndale). All of these are spendy. I haven't found any great Chinese food yet.
Hey I am a new subscriber and love what you are doing here. As an Arizona Native I would love to have you visit my restaurant some day soon and try out our food. We are called Mr. Mustard's Hot Dogs, we serve a variety of hot dogs and also mexican food as well. If you come we will definitely have a nice cold Dos Equis beer ready for you!
Being from Texas, I usually skip Mexican restaurants while visiting AZ it just doesn't compare to TexMex. Although the one exception is Elote in Sedona so good. Buca di Beppo? It's just a chain restaurant bruh they're everywhere. The Hideaway House in Sedona is amazing Italian and Steak 44 in Phoenix is one of the best steakhouses I ever had.
It is interesting to watch your videos from someone who has lived in Arizona for over 40 years. Look, I am not complaining but the Scottsdale area does NOT represent best foods to eat in AZ. The only guess I have is you were trying to show off the "dish" verses the "places to eat" the dish? Please say that I am correct because, DANG you would be so off base on where to get the best food our great state has to offer that represents us well.
We love to hear from you, so please let us know your favorite foods and restaurants. So we can do a Part 2 and feature those places and foods.
The mexican pizza in the beginning with the pepper on top.... that looked amazing!

Just the reverse for me, I have yet to find a decent place in Cali. You like what you are used to in the main.

Great vid buddy👊🏽👊🏽
I love your Arizona videos. Thanks.
Another way of knowing if a Mexican restaurant is genuine is if they offer molé.
Pffffft, tourist.
So tell us, how is mole the defining feature? Be specific.
@@jimanders9971 Have you been to many Mexican restaurants that have it on their menu?
@@jorgealvarez1690 I cant think of one Mexican restaurant in my area that has mole. Sounds like Tex Mex which is dreck.
@@randypaul7312 Is this reply a joke, because if it is 😆
Another Great Video, Have you made a hidden Gems Restaurant Video? If not that would be a good idea. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK Have a Blessed day❤
If a restaurant is crowded, that's a good indication that they have good food!!!
Thank your for your channel! I'm a native Arizonan born in Phoenix. Learning a lot about my home town and home state!
There is a TV series called, "Check Please!" that shows you all the very best restaurants in Phoenix for a reasonable price too!!!

Try los dos Molinos.
Dog Haus is now a lobster 🦞 roll restaurant (Scottsdale Quarter)
Red Robin over Chuckbox, Lenny's, or the Original Hamburger Works?
What’s up jeff do you like San tan valley or new developments in queen creek

Los Olivos is nothing to write home about.

Not a real sonoran dog if it dont got bacon

A tourist in Arizona telling us what real Mexican food is. Pfffffft. So tourist Mexican food is what he features.
😂 hey Jim. Maybe one day I can be on your level 🫰
