I love how thorough and comprehensive you guys are with your testing. I also enjoy times to nerd-out on this stuff, but my lord is some of the equipment expensive. So I genuinely appreciate you guys doing this, and not to mention the presentation techniques being utilized is adequately comfortable. Thank you again
Although I do not own a Fenix pistol light, I can say that for years I’ve owned multiple lights from them from their tactical line, all rechargeable. I’ve been very happy with the overall quality and functionality. In a market filled with so many choices, I would say it would be a mistake to not at least give them a look-see… Greetings from Anacortes!
I’ve been using a fenix handheld as a cop for the last 4 years of my going on 8 year career. Incredible durability and performance for the money. You guys should definitely make holsters for their new lights. I swear by their products. Much more reliable than olight and they don’t explode 😂
You guys have really stepped up your reviews! I believe the last one I watched was the TLR-7 Sub video and I was pleased with it, but this one is definitely more up my flashlight geek alley. Please do a review on the Fenix GL-19 next! I am a Fenix dealer so if you need one let me know, I plan to get some on my next inventory order.
Thanks much! Fenix has just this week confirmed they sent us a GL19R, which I plan to test quickly after it comes in. We also keep collecting the right equipment to fully (and objectively) test lights. Handheld and rifle light testing is coming! Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you for a great and unbiased review. I just received the Fenix GL22 for my Sig P229 Elite (not easy finding a light that fits it) & GL19R for my HS9/XD9 and I happy with their performance and their ease of operation. Finding a holster will be an issue for the time being, hopefully Werkz will do one soon, in the meanwhile I was told that Cytac makes a universal holster that might accommodate them!!!
The 19R has turbo mode which is even more lumens and candela than the GL22. It's even smaller. I'm interested in seeing how that stacks up. They claim 1200 lumens on the 19R which is even more than a TLR 1.
I've had a Fenix PD35v2 Hooked to my shotgun for over 1200 rounds of buck and slug now with zero issues 🤷♂️ If this light is as tough as the rest of the Fenix lights it'll be a winner for sure.
Fenix is the shit! If fenix put out a pistol light at the same price as these others you wouldn't even need the pistol because the light would burn their eyes out so fenix had to hold back to make it where you didn't waste money on the pistol.
My personal experience with the GL series so far is pretty bad. I had the GL19R and in the few days I owned it I had it fail to turn on at least a dozen times, arguably the worst way a light possibly could fail. Presumably the circuitry is frozen or locked up from the last switching off action and it won't respond to anything: holding, taping, both switches, any combination of the 3, charging, ect. until the battery is reseated effectively resetting the circuit. While hard to reproduce, if I sit at my desk and repeatedly cycle once a second it might happen in 2 minutes or 20, it will eventually happen and thus you can never be sure if the light is in a functioning state. Needless to say I returned it.
Stay w my C5L Lite/ Laser Viridin When i draw my H&K VP9 from its holster ( alien gear 3.5 ) my wespon lite comes on Automatically where I last set it. There's a magnet inside the holster & once it's drawn the laser/lite is on. No need to fumble w switches
It's a nice concept so much so I put one on 4 different hand guns. Unfortunately a few years later and only one still functions. 3/4 didn't make it past 500 round before completely dying and all 4 started to flicker and sputter somewhere between 200-500rounds. It's a neat concept but absolutely horrible execution.
@@DinnerForkTongue Cell phones, laptops, tablets, solar chargers... the entire consumer electronics market has moved on from micro USB and the trend will accelerate.
@user-ks4zf6dv2u that is bs.....if they can put a type -C on a 14500 they can put it on this battery.....just easier and cheaper to use Micro for them.....prefer to use magnetic charging like on the Olight..

It's my pleasure! The engineer in me has a bit of fun both testing and coming up with new tests.

Greetings from Anacortes!
Ray, I agree. I'm happy to see another quality entry into the pistol light realm. I have family in Anacortes and visit occasionally!
Their tk16 light is awesome
I'll be doing more handheld tests in the future.
So make a holster for it... Then I will buy it.

Our customer service keeps a close eye on requests, and we concentrate our time where it benefits the highest amount of customers.
We need to see some full size weapon light tests like the modlites, cloud, weltool, streamlight ect.
Hi
I was wondering if the GL22 would be compatible with my Hellcat Pro pistol

@@WerkzHolsters awesome to hear! Will you all have holsters available for these models?
@@22LR.addict we will have to see about demand. We currently do not have plans.
I'm very interested in the new Fenix GL19R. It's even smaller than the GL22 and Fenix claims it has 1200 lumens on turbo mode.
I'm interested to see how the GL19 performs as well!

checked amazon, the 19r is $100, the GL22 is $120

Can the laser really holds zero?????
So any plans to make a holster for it?
Mind putting it on a SP-01?
Have you guys made a holster for this yet with the Glock 17?
Nothing yet... still judging demand.

I have a GL19R under test now. Thank you for providing some steps on reproduction. I'll give it a try! Thank you for sharing your experience!
Duds make it through QC unfortunately. Hopefully I don't have the same experience as I am really liking this light otherwise.
Got the GLR19 for $80 last week 👍🏾
Nice!

Do the new GL19R!
We have one here getting ready to do the review!
Sounds like this guy would love the Olight Valkyrie turbo. 🔥beam
I hate that Fenix followed SureFire and use USB micro charging socket instead of the much more friendly USB Type C connectors.
I like micro USB just fine, but I can acknowledge the type-C is the better option here. Sturdier and can pass higher currents? Please do!
@@DinnerForkTongue Cell phones, laptops, tablets, solar chargers... the entire consumer electronics market has moved on from micro USB and the trend will accelerate.
@@DinnerForkTongue the battery itself is too small to put a type-C charging port into. I contacted other makers and told me this.

Indeed, the sole downside of Type C. Maybe if there was a 21350 format, but that's a pipe dream.
