Another great video Shan. I have a request for a future video. I know you mentioned it in this video and have done so previously about your preference (and it seems Jamison as well) to use your non-firing hands thumb to actuate the light versus the trigger finger.

At 6:58 you mention your one beef with the side push buttons like on the Inforce or Olight Valkyrie. Ive literally heard people make arguments on how thats “more natural” as you’re already squeezing the pistol with your support hand. I own a PL-3R that i love but i hate that style switch. It feels far from natural and i really dont get how some people prefer that over a rocker like the X300 or TLR-1. I guess to each their own.

You said to train with your light, which I presume includes shooting the firearm with the light attached under night/dark conditions. I wonder how many people actually do this.
How many people have the ability or opportunity to do that? Not many.
What light would be ideal for my 43x?
tlr 7 sub with glock key if you have the mos with rail; otherwise a tlr 6 I suppose
I agree with @joshwest8957. I also have the 43X and went with the TLR 7 sub. There aren't a ton of options for this pistol but I decided to stop fighting trends and go with a light I knew did well and had Werkz holster support

After working on permit Night Shift for over 12 years. I can definitely recommend not using rechargeable batteries in your weapon lights.
Hey Werkz, speaking of light, pistol combos, I saw a TLR-1 on a APX-a1 a lot on this video. Any plans to make that holster any time soon?
I wish companies would make holsters for MORE THAN JUST TWO LIGHTS!!!

Biggest mistake is not buying Surefire……
I think most people buy lights because they are tacti-cool, not because they provide something practical. Why would you use a weapon light to identify inside your house? You want to point a gun at your family? Why would you give up the advantage of your natural night vision on your home turf and shine a light? Even if you point the gun down and use the peripheral illumination of the light to identify, then you gave up your position and gave them an easy target. If someone is actually coming to do you harm, they would like nothing better than for you to be shining a light everywhere. Unless you are law enforcement or military clearing buildings, there just isn't a practical use in my opinion, but each to their own.
I don’t think you are thinking this out right. One, when you are in your house, garage, yard you have the tactical advantage as you know the terrain. So you don’t just fire up the light and start wandering around. You come in the dark and only use the light when it’s to your advantage. Two, these lights totally blind and disorient people while giving you a totally clear picture. You pop that on someone you see and identify them immediately while they are blinded. The kind of blinded where your eyes are screwed for 20-30 minutes afterward. This brings me to three, you say you don’t want to point a gun at your family but if someone is going bump in the night you have to put your gun on them or then they have the advantage. But if it’s light and laser first, hopefully while you can also take some cover, you can quickly identify the perp to rule out someone you know. You can also see if he is armed. You can also see if it’s your family member or your drunk friend. Clicking the switch to your light and laser is faster than trying to line up sites in the dark. If you are smart and use it wisely it’s just another tactical advantage that can also help you not shoot the wrong person.
