Fantastic urban and rural scenery, very relaxing emotionally. Unfortunately the advertising industry has observed our presence and increased commercial presentation. Getting away from it all has become increasingly difficult. 5 stars for bringing us calm and delightful scenery in spite of commercial distraction.
Some people like a Hawaii beach at sunset. Give me a cold winters day when the sky is grey and the trees are white sitting on a porch swing with a slight breeze. That's my heaven. Love watching your videos. Norway is a beautiful place. When I retire next year, that's where I wish to do so.
Since I discovered your channel my son and I really enjoy your videos from showing the control room down to the cars. He especially loves the snow scenery. Because of your channel I am reading alot about Flån and Bergen. I have to visit your beautiful country. The land of a million waterfalls. Thank you and please keep sharing and be safe
Hi RailCowGirl. There are so many things I love about this video. You show a view of the train we will ride with - why does nobody else do this? You also show a view from the side window of a carriage - brilliant. You provide so much additional information on the route (with a map), the stations and time of departure, etc.; it just adds so much more to the enjoyment. I think the images from your camera are fantastic! My wife and I made a cruise to Stavanger, Olden, Flam and Bergen. Your cab ride from Flam brought back wonderful memories.
I love how it's pretty much in black and white for most of the journey, with the white snow and dark trees. That makes the occasional flashes of colour stand out all the more. The yellow station buildings are particularly cheery!
They be some long tunnels at the end.....there is a beauty with snow and I love it. Give me a snowy winter over a sunny hot summer any day...thank you K, (hope your well?)
It's a new kind of therapy. Sooth's the nerves, calms the brain after a hectic day. Just sit down with favorite drink relax and enjoy. It's the HCG Therapy.
No matter what season, the scenery is absolutely beautiful. Really enjoy your videos. Also, thanks for translating meters into feet. I don't think the U.S. is ready to convert anytime soon.
These scenes where the snow completely covers the tracks Always intrigue me ! It's the thrill of hoping the tracks are still there !!! eeeeeeeee !!!!!!!
Thank you for the fantastic video. I love the map and extra info. It makes the trip just so much more enjoyable. Are side views also possible? You should go into fulltime movie making. I am from South Africa and starting to plan a trip, all because of your videos and presentation thereof. Thank you, thank you!
I love your videos. You're a very lucky lady having such am amazing job. In such a picturesque country i am very jealous but as long as you keep posting video's like this then ill forgive you. Much love and respect 👍👍
I notice you run well past the passengers at stations, do you have a mix of freight and carriages? how long is the train? I think these Videos are hypnotic but very relaxing to watch. Thank you
I only have passenger carriages, freight is a different company. The train is usually 227 meters long, and I need to go all the way to the end of the platform for all the carriages to be within the platform.
I have watched most of your videos at all times of the day and night. I will even go to sleep with these playing. I was wondering especially in this video what is the top speed you can hit in those straightaways? Also, I noticed very little swaying or movement that we have experienced on trains. Is that the case with these trains or is the camera stabilized? Thanks again.
Well if the switch is in the wrong position, the signals would have had another aspect, telling me to continue with reduced speed :) The signal is in the dependence of the position of the switches :)
Hi HCG, I was just wondering about the engines. The large grey one like the one you are driving now appears to be a very large motor with no connection to the coaches while the other engine you drive you just walk through the coach and open the door and you chair is right there. The motor in this one must be very small in comparison. Enjoy all your videos , very relaxing
Do you have a camera recording all the time for all your trips similar to a car dashcam, or do you record specific trips for UA-cam? Great video. Another 3 hours where I should have been doing something else. :)
Interesting scheduling that they have to send you on a 2.5 hour trip to take the train. Is it considered duty time as you have no choice other than to be there?
Man how fast is this train going? It seems really fast, on those 2 little rails nothing on either side. We just stopped at some station with yellow buildings for like 30;seconds! And we are off again!
Triangular signs on the right side give the maximum speed. For example, "11" means 110kph (70 mph). Triangle pointing down, decrease speed; pointing up, increase speed.
*Goes off the train * Aight Imma walk to work! *Walks to the locomotor of the same train * Now am good. Addendum: "Mom be proud of me! I am a wonderful lady conducting my own commute!"
Great video as always. Where is the tower shown in the photo for the video in the menu? Looks like a switch tower of some kind? Didn't see it on the video
No, there is a second line via Roa/Gjøvikbanen. This is shorter, but has lower speed, more single track and less people/passengers. Back in the day, this was the route the express train used. The planning for a new direct line Hønefoss-Sandvika (high speed at 250km/h) is in a late stages, and construction may start in 2021 or 2022 and finish in 2028/2029 if money becomes available and everything goes to plan.
Like @GormHornBori says there is no direct line between Oslo S and Hønefoss. The Ringerike Line was already planned completed in the mid 80's but it never happened, now it has been a political turkey ever since. Hopefully something will happen now and it can be built and completed. Like they say, 50 years in railroad isn't a very long time.
@@@RailCowGirl and @GormHornBori, thanks for the information. Hopefully they will start building soon because it seems to me that this makes traveling time a lot shorter.
have you seen this video on another channel? Then I would really much want to know which one. Since that person must have downloaded it from the stream I had last week. This video is the version without narration.
HCG next time your running that line with snow drifts over the track. I believe i speak for everyone when i say we expect you to go "weeeeeee" every time you hit one :P
Hehehe, sadly to say the weather has been very back and forth this year. There isn't nearly as much snow as it normally is. :/ But I'm hoping that will change now in January! Let us all hope for massive drifts to give us some awesome experience :D
@@RailCowGirl I hear you on the weather here in Australia the north is flooding the south is burning and the middle. Well the middle has not changed its still a desert but you get my point
@@RailCowGirl I did and it say you are not live. That's why I made this comment. So why does your stream say LIVE? Misleading if you ask me. Live is live. A video is a video.

I just can't get enough of these vids! I've never been to Norway, but, what a beautiful country! Keep up the great work!

That is awesome! Thank you for watching!
Thanks. It is nice to see the passengers view.
Excellent journey, watched it over a period of two days. Understood, Home, starter, advance starter, distant signals.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Truly breathtaking scenery. In one word WONDERFUL.

I like so much theses videos. Norway seems to be very similar to Quebec in Canada. Lot of space, nature and snow in the winter. It is beautifilul.
Glad you like them! Thanks a lot for watching!

Thanks, hopefully you will some day :)
As I sit in my room watching this wonderful video of snow , it’s 91 degrees outside, but the ac is on high and I feel like it is winter! I love it!
Sounds great!
Great journey, second time I've taken it and both very enjoyable. Thanks RCG

Amazing! Another nearly empty train. But I would love to take a ride in it. What a beautiful countryside.
As it came into Voss, it seemed fairly well-populated to me.
Wow ! Beautiful train you are driving !
Again we're all deeply jealous of another wonderful video 💝👍😍

Great to see that there is a least one spot on this earth which is covered with snow.
Another Great Episode from HCG and I thought Christmas was over! 😊👍
Watching it from snowless Poland and waiting for first snow :)

HinduCowGirl, I love your videos. It helps me to escape from the stress of my recent life!❤
Glad you find my videos helpful!
I commend to you the Miles Davis album “Sketches of Spain”, especially the track “Solea” (solitude), that is reminiscent of this particular snow ride.
another excellant video is drammen a major rail junction ? and is there seperate company responsable for tracks and signals etc
You have to have absolute confidence the technicians have the right switches thrown traveling at those speeds. It seems a little scary at times.
Well if the switch is in the wrong position, the signals would have had another aspect, telling me to continue with reduced speed :) The signal is in the dependence of the position of the switches :)
The best video of this year!
Thank you!
HCG are most of the passengers on this train commuting to work or visiting family in nearby towns perhaps? Thanks for all you do!
Commuters are mostly between Bergen and Voss, tourists and people visiting friends and families. :)
They must heat the rail switches because they are always free of snow and ice (he observed from Florida.)
Correct :D The moving parts on the switches are heated :D
@RailCowGirl. In japan they use hot water sprays as well as heated rails. 😊
Nothing like putting the first trail of footprints in fresh thick snow..
That is so true :) it's like skiing over untouched fields. It's just beautiful :D
HCG Amazing.💖
World's largest Christmas tree lot.

No it’s vastly more powerfull. It’s a locomotive with 275KN traction and 7.500hp.

I don't know where it is exactly but I do remember it was a water tower for steam locomotives.
The water Tower is between Bergheim and Flå :)
Why do you honk at these signs? There were no Railroad Crossing ahead, so is it to warn potential animals in the woods?
It's there, but under the snow. Usually these crossings are used by farmers between their fields.
@@RailCowGirl Ahh, Ok. Thanks :)
Do the brakes perform "better" when they are cooled by the snow?
No :)

One day too early ;)
Ok. Maybe next time then... :)
why do you not travel in the locomotive, because you take the controll later
No access to toilet in the loco, no reclining seating and it's much more noisy :) Better to doze off in the back listening to podcasts. :)

Why is that a contradiction? Single track only affects the capacity of how many trains you can run at the same time in each direction ;)
