Honestly Ibz's videos really helped me pull my ass together during A levels. I had bad IGCSE grades (like Bs and Cs which is considered bad in Asia) due to depression being in a horrible school environment and I never thought I could get As during A levels. Results came out during January and I got AAA for Bio,Chem, Psy and I truly believe that if you put in the work and just give yourself the opportunity to succeed, you will. My lecturers constantly told us that students usually drop grades in A2 compared to their performance in AS, which is complete bullshit but scared everyone nonetheless. I got B for my Chem during AS which then jumped to an A during A2, so i'm here to tell you that literally anything is possible if you just work for it like Ibz said. Don't let IGCSE , AS or even trials grades stop you from wanting to achieve more in your academics. You just need to learn to trust yourself, cause honestly you determine what you can do.
@@aena5995 i'm not sure about 2 grades up but given your timespan of about 2 months ish, you're gonna have to study literally EVERYDAY, like nonsense kind of studying with tons of practice past years and a lot of determination. Try to really break down how much time you would need to work on specific weak points in a particular subject (like Monday you would do Molarity and Tuesday would be Organic Chem). In the worst case scenario, do keep in mind you can always defer your examination to the later session (Oct/Nov). Talk to the examination admins in your school or teachers that you can trust to give you some advice on whether you should defer or not given your AS grades and how much you are currently struggling with the subjects now. Whether you decide to defer or plough through the 2 months, make sure you don't regret your decision and make it count. Good luck!! :)
@@nicola_paganini well idk if defering is possible as then by oct nov i would technically not be from this school as its my A2 yr and usually the fees is non refundable and then would have to pay for oct nov right? Idk if deferring is a thing , do u mean paying it all over again? Btw is it possible to go from a d or e grade to like a c or d by just giving the A2 pprs?
@@aena5995 you can defer your examination without needing to retake classes, basically you would do the test as a private candidate (this is what most homeschooled students do), in my school, they allowed examinations to be deferred even though you already paid the examination fees for a particular intake (this you will need to check if your school allows this), so the school will usually only charge you some minor admin fees for changing yr examination period (aka you dont need to pay the entire fees of the examination again). For the last part, I think it's totally possible to jump from D/E to a C if you really work hard on it, but it also depends on what level of the grade boundary you're at (is it a high D or a low D) cause it'll be easier to jump grades if it was close to the next grade boundary. Hope that answers your question!

@ Maths A level is easier compared to other curriculums no offence. Good luck with your exams!! I finished a levels last year but did history and it was the bane of my existence. A tip that I wish I knew sooner is don’t focus too much on the facts, look at how you actually answer the question because that’s honestly how you hit the high marks. Make sure you know how to answer ‘how far do you agree’, ‘to what extent’ (my personal faves) and any other question starters that could come up (look through past papers + google example a level history questions to get a feel for the type of question). This helps so much, once you know how to answer the question it’s so much simpler to break down your argument (always make sure you have an argument, your essay should be weighted at the minimum 60 your argument, 40 evaluating your argument don’t sit on the fence, we had that rammed down for two years but it’s so important). Idk if you have a breadth and depth paper with your exam board but if you do the breadth paper learn some key facts to use as evidence for each section but make sure you have a clear understanding of if things changed over time, economic + social conditions that kind of thing, the facts should just add to that. The depth paper is usually a shorter time period so with that one look at key events, figures + also wider social changes (with that one you need to know more facts and dates but still don’t overwhelm yourself, if you argue well enough with some pieces of evidence to back it up it can bypass not having a ton of facts stored). Sorry for the long reply, hope it helps I actually miss history now lol I enjoyed the subject so much just hated the revision. Feel free to reply to this if you have any other questions, good luck again!
cobaltmarin hey I’m in Y11 right now and history is by far my favourite subject which is why I wanna take it for A levels. Luckily I’m getting 8s and 9s in all my exams but every time I see something about A level history it’s always stuff like “A level history is the worst” or “avoid A level history at all cost” and I’m starting to get really nervous. Have you got Instagram or anything so I can ask you some questions that I have pls I’m just not that active on UA-cam
I am doing my AS levels ( Maths, ICT and Physics) in this Oct/Nov, I really needed to hear this. Thanking for sharing this video. I am struggling with my mental health and those probs really distanced me from studying and doing my school work properly. I hope to continue doing them better from now onwards! Again Thank you so much!💜💜
honestly this is what I needed right now. I needed to hear this. In the beginning of the video I was like "eh i am bored it's probably nothing," but watching it I understood that THIS is EXCATLY what I wanted to hear. thank you so much 💙
I keep watching help videos but never actually following the advice, I just like the illusion of productivity. As soon as this ended I went to study and it really helped 🥰
It was honestly today where I needed this! I am in year 12 taking English Lang, psychology and religious studies and I feel like I am going to fail. I had double English language this morning and then I was able to come home, I had to hold back tears through the whole lesson because I couldn’t understand (I haven’t been motivated enough to study at all, so I am behind) the content we were doing. I just kept hearing the words “you’re stupid” and “you won’t succeed because you can’t understand what everyone else is doing”, it’s English Language that I’m worst at as well so this did not make it better! You’ve made me realise that I need to take my classes more seriously so I’m going to use these tips and a social media detox (I’ve done one before and it proved to be incredibly helpful!) to help me pull my grades up and so that I can prove to myself that I am not stupid, I’m going to pass :)
watching this rlly makes me realise how disadvantaged im gonna be in life bc my familys poor. i share my room w 3 younger sisters theres 2 bunkbeds in a small box room i literally have NO space i have a job i could buy a desk but id have nowhere to put it. i live in a village the librarys open half an hour on a wednesday 😭 luckily i have a library at college which is a LIFESAVER
like i cant quit my job just fo study and deal with it later i need this money 😭 luckily i can get bs and as with little revision but...im worried this wont carry into ywar 13
Awh I hope things get better for you love🥺 so unfortunate that money is affecting your studies maybe you can talk to your college about this and they can fund you some money for proper school supplies
Revise to learn how to revise smarter and more efficiently, SO TRUE, if you can understand this, you are golden. My advice is to set out a WRITTEN schedule for your self. Stick to this and work with the 8 hour rule. You will realise that instead of wondering where the time went, time will actually feel like its moving slower. If you feel like this you are revising efficiently.
THANK YOU SO MUCH IBZ i needed to hear this - ever since i fluked my mocks i've been so tired and this was exactly what i needed to hear to push me to revise. i'm only doing gcses but this will help me so much at every stage from now. thank you!! :)

I’m acc gonna cry I fully got shouted at by this boy. Fam.
I started watching this video in bed and by the time it finished I was waiting for my elevator to go to the library LOLLL This VIDEO IS SO POWERFUL
HOW DO I TATTOO THIS VIDEO ON MY FACE
Ibz: stop looking at youtube and wasting time. Do your work.
me: *not skipping ads so someone else can get paid*
"it comes a point when it's just you and your textbook." couldn't be any more spot on lol.
me: *just finished sobbing about a levels*
youtube: here you go babe x
THIS WAS THE GREATEST VIDEO I HAVE WATCHED IN FOREVER
Everything gets better after A levels😂😂😂
i hope so although some say it gets worse:(
In my 3rd yr of uni and I have to disagree 😫😭
lies I tell you lies!!!!!!
I hope so, I'm almost there

I feel personally attacked by the 'constantly watching videos like this' :( 😂😂
when he describes the rule of 8, i realise i have no idea how my day flies past cos i dont feel like i do anything (studying, sleeping or doing wtv i want) for 8 hours. this is crazy
I needed someone to be this stern with me and to help me get my ass in gear, thanks Ibz!
This video was a BIG wake up call for me. Its time to revise and get those A's!!!!
Stop watching, Stop scrolling, start revising
Aaaaa I genuinely started crying during this video I did so well in my GCSE’s but I’ve struggled massively with a levels just a lack of motivation and depression and stuff it’s just been a really hard year for me and I really want to do well in my actual exams and hopefully I can turn things around for year 13 aaaaaaaaaaaaa
what subjects do you do?? bc sameeee it’s so hard
chinwe ubah I’m doing maths, economics and psychology and I’m so overwhelmed already
Same...🥲
@ omg. Please don’t do that. You will get through this and I am certain you will achieve the grades u want 💕🥺 just believe in yourself pleas don’t attempt anything like that again
@ Maths A level is easier compared to other curriculums no offence. The IB - HL maths or the further mathematics of A level is actual maths which I found really hard and challenging and yeah physics can be really tough if people didn't take it that seriously when they were younger. This is totally understandable
This is the personal attack I needed THANKYOU IBZ
Thank you for this video. I’m in year 12, I’m a carer and I’m also a terrible procrastinator. I spend most of the time at home but its hard for me to focus and sit down without being interrupted or distracting myself with my only life (online) I’m going to follow this advice a really try my best!
1:58 1) the rule of eight
4:00 2) understand how your a-levels and your exams work
5:48 3) where to study and get a desk or go to a library
9:15 4) what are your distractions and finish procrastination
4:45 5) be realistic
Got a 14 minute ad 😭😭 i hope you do really well at law school!!
My ad was the video to Watermelon sugar by Harry Styles and I have never been so happy to watch a 3 and a half minute ad
the netlix ad is trying to get me away from my hustle but i could never!
Okay but I was mid way through crying about being a failure Ibz HOW DID YOU KNOW
I NEEDED THIS😭😭
Is it just me who feels that 8 hours of studying isn’t possible 😞
yes! me too! sometimes I find it difficult to focus at ALL!!! I can do 2-3 hours TOPS
u didnt listen properely he meant study as wholle as in ALevels school those account from 4 to 6 hours already so all you need to do is revise for 4 or 2 more hours and thats
it
@@orangeknight6413 No no, I do not have 4-6 hours of college a day... On Monday and Thursday I have 50 minutes of college, and Wednesday I have 2 hours... It varies, so no I did listen properly and my point still stands.
Orangeknight64 I did listen properly
Georgia Ewington yeah well then why would you comment this in the first place. You obviously didn’t pay attention

You're such a wonderful soul. I will watch more of your videos and let the ads play just to support you. Well done on what you've achieved so far and blessings for inspiring so many of us.
I felt so bad for skipping man but it’s 04:06 and I need my sleep 😭🤣 You seem so genuine it’s keeping me attached to watching.
I'm in year 12; I'm planning to prove me Sociology teacher wrong when I do my mocks because she underestimates me so much. But this video has been so helpful for me to understand how to structure my revision and how to deal with toxic parents whilst doing revision. ♥️
I need it. Thank you so much. I mark the minute to come back when I need it 9:30
One month more for my A/Ls and this is the kind of motivation I needed! i've been procrastinating like crazy. I'm gonna stop now (TuT) THANK YOU SO MUCH! YOU'RE THE BEST!:)
We need more youtubers like this. Period.
I know right..
thank you for this. I speak for everyone when I say this helped me so much.
paused the vid at 9:53, imma go study for my test tomorrow and watch this another day, thanks mate
Are you psychic I think that’s the question we’re all asking
I literally love ur personality what the heck. U actually convinced me to get tf up and start studying for my a levels 🥲
Me and my friend were legit speaking about your a level advice vids and how they’re banging and this pops up uno this is a sign 😂 also IDEC I’m skipping no ads get that shmoney babyyyyy💕
Literally only not skipping the ad because of the farewell you gave before it and i understand the trying to pay for law school
Thank you so much Ibz. I really needed to hear this right now. Yeah, you might seem "dramatic" but you're so right and it's true, the only person stopping me from studying right now is me. Genuinely going to delete my social media accounts now
Whenever I’m feeling unmotivated and down, I always come back to this video and it never fails me. Best motivational video I have ever watched in my life❤️
This was very much needed with a week of mocks ahead of me (: thank you!!
everyone who does a level history know the struggle mannnn its so long 😭😭🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
big regretsss
Feel free to reply to this if you have any other questions, good luck again!
cobaltmarin this was so useful and so kind of you to spend time writing, thank you
cobaltmarin hey I’m in Y11 right now and history is by far my favourite subject which is why I wanna take it for A levels. Luckily I’m getting 8s and 9s in all my exams but every time I see something about A level history it’s always stuff like “A level history is the worst” or “avoid A level history at all cost” and I’m starting to get really nervous. Have you got Instagram or anything so I can ask you some questions that I have pls I’m just not that active on UA-cam
swan D no problem, good luck with your exams, don’t be too hard on yourself with revision
Ibz is my motivation
cardi b is mine
I am doing my AS levels ( Maths, ICT and Physics) in this Oct/Nov, I really needed to hear this. Thanking for sharing this video.
I am struggling with my mental health and those probs really distanced me from studying and doing my school work properly. I hope to continue doing them better from now onwards!
Again Thank you so much!💜💜
OH MY GOD MY EXACT SAME subject combination do you have any tips for IT??
@@chizaramoranezi4964 sorry to disappoint you🥲
But I changed my stream.. I’m now doing Biology, Chemistry and Physics🤭😅
honestly this is what I needed right now. I needed to hear this. In the beginning of the video I was like "eh i am bored it's probably nothing," but watching it I understood that THIS is EXCATLY what I wanted to hear. thank you so much 💙
I was so tempted to skip the ads but I did it fam !!! Issa big deal
I keep watching help videos but never actually following the advice, I just like the illusion of productivity. As soon as this ended I went to study and it really helped 🥰
We watched this in a school assembly today and they skipped the adverts. So I came home and rewatched them 😅😅
“there was a stamford hill library but i ain’t going stamford hill”😂😂😂 felt that
B6 fully
Hahhahahah
First exam in 2 days, definitely needed this type of aggressive and brutal honesty + motivation rn
This was the aggressive motivation i needed
Before the pandemic came in 2020, I had good focus and stuff. I'm in first year rn and I've been a mental mess and afraid of failing. Thanks for this

The 8 hour rule is SO SMART! I’m gonna try it ,THANK U
Thank You so so so much for not assuming that we all have desks at home! The library is in fact the best place to revise, but now libraries have closed study areas due to covid but at least there's the school library xd. I literally broke down half way through this video, i've just been struggling so much with my mental health and i really needed some encouragement and motivation to keep going, so thank u so so much Ibz, Yr 13 is so damn stressful rn urgh! xx
You being so brutally honest about this really slapped me right across the face, thank you
