as a year 11 watching this in april 2020 it pains me when you said "year 11 summer is the last summer you'll get when you dont have something important happening imminently" *sigh*
Friendships can be restored after exams, exams can’t be restored after exams ✨love that
Wow you are gorgeous sis, your skin is glowing
honey_melanin aw thank you beautiful 😭💛💛
Aaliyah Nashwa I disagree, good friends help u through your exams and are equally as important
Aaliyah Nashwa that’s such a depressing attitude

If the intro isn’t me when I’m supposed to be studying I don’t know what is😂

Okay but your Les Mis singing was actually quite good 😂
Tilly H the “soft brumie” tones I could hear made me remember - it’s Eve 😂
It’s crazy to think next week I’m going into year 13. Genuinely can’t believe how quickly the last few years of education fly by - it seems like yesterday I was going into year 9 starting GCSE subjects. For anyone going into year 12 next week, good luck and enjoy it as much as you can. Sixth form life is so different to the lower years so soak up the different experience. You got this!!! ❤️
Same man, I feel like I’ve only just started college and it’s already our last year😩
How much do you recommend to revise each day for each subject. I see people saying an hour for eah subject a day. Is that good enough?
Well Sadie...
Please do a note taking tips video!! Need it ASAP😂
Molly Kiely yessss as I start year 12 next Wednesday
Molly Kiely would love this!
@@madi2404 me too!
Yesssss
Yess!
I’ve done nothing all summer and now I regret not sorting out all my year 12 notes🙃

You’ve literally got a year. A year is LONG. You’re gonna be so fine x
Fran Nelson
Yeahhh sameee
same tho
Start working it out now, before the new content builds up!
I’m starting year 13 and I’m doing biology, chemistry and maths so pray for me y’all. 😩😩😩
Same and I am not looking forward to starting school next week
Do u enjoy them? 🙂
Zainab Bah yes I do. They are hard and require a lot of work but they are interesting subjects
Kate Hudson I totally understand where you’re coming from I have just chosen my A levels and everyone thought I was crazy when I said I wanted to do English Lit but I find it so interesting. Do what makes u happy and I am sure u will do great at it 😁
I flopped bio and chem I got two U’s so I dropped it LUCKY ME😂😭😭😂😂😂
For all the new year 13s I honestly wish you good luck from the bottom of my heart because I can honestly without a doubt say that it was the worst year of my life. But I made it out in the end and I’m about to start my dream course at my dream uni. So good luck and work hard but don’t forget to prioritise your mental health xx
Shout out to the classes of 2020 who don't even have their GCSE's
class of 2021 now aswell 🙌

I’m here because I have no idea whether to start on year 12 content or revise for GCSEs because of COVID-19 ;-;
Kelcey yes same lol
idk if i should re revise y12 or start y13. i'm doing international A level btw
I'm starting year 12 this year and I'm equally excited and terrified. I think a video on how you take notes would be helpful
Cora Leigh same what are you thinking of taking?
@@saniyah3621 Biology, chemistry and psycology, maybe photography or maths as a 4th. What are you talking?
Cora Leigh sounds hard, taking psychology law and either sociology or English lit
@@saniyah3621 Sounds great, good luck
Cora Leigh thankyou good luck to you too and hope you enjoy a levels x
Hey, I think it’s really important to talk about some things that happen at sixth form. I, like everyone watching this video, worked extremely contentiously at sixth form through both years. I watched Eve and Jack and Ibz and Holly and Ruby, following all the advice. The advice is great!
But sometimes it doesn’t go to plan. No matter how hard and smart you work, sometimes you sit a bad exam and you don’t get the A* you need.
I had ONE bad exam this year which meant I missed my grades for Cambridge. I was lucky enough to to still be accepted, but I easily couldn’t have because of one bad exam. I couldn’t have worked harder, and I did everything right. So please don’t feel bad if all of your prep doesn’t amount to your dream grades. Sixth form is SO hard, remember to give yourself credit!!
i’m about to go into year 12, taking A-level maths - anyone else?
Saoirse matthews I do A level Maths and got a A* in my AS mocks. Just practice everything and I beg you, please do not ever leave a lesson not understanding a topic not matter what. Don’t be like I’ll learn it late you have to learn it now now now. Don’t care if it’s September and you’re mocks are in February you have to learn that now because ALL the next topics in that chapter depend on it. If you follow that you’ll do really well
N M there is no A* on AS knobhead
Boo Wigga Maybe if you read I said AS Mocks so not official AS exams. By mocks I met school internal exams where they put an A* for the end of year exams. knobhead
Yes and I'm also taking further maths
Saoirse matthews same :/
Please do that video on note-taking! Love you eve 💛
Current year 13 here. My top advice for A Level biology is DON’T procrastinate with notes at the start of year 12. I rarely did the work in year 12, and I’m very much regretting my decisions! PLEASE do the work throughout year 12!!!
I don't take notes at all and now it's almost exam time for as level but I didn't think it was that big of a problem so now I have extra stress on top of more stress
@@Zzzu20 Really?
I did biology chemistry and religious studies and i got a
C U U
this was due to me messing around and simply not working hard
I have dropped bio and chem and now I am doing history law(as An AS LEVEL) and rs A2
Ps I got an 9-8 in double science and I’m telling all of you year 12’s don’t take this year LIGHTLY FRICKEN REVISE BECAUSEEEEE IT IS HARRRRRRDDDDD
Samee i got bad af grades in Bio,Chem,Psychology (EUD) should i drop chem for some other subject and give psych retake along with the a2 paper and retake for bio right now whats the third sub then?
Did u bash revisivion at GCSE as you got a 9-8 ???
I got an 8-8 and Im gonna do Bio n Chem at a level but I dont wanna fuck up
Did u really just mess around and not revise as hard as GCSE ??????
I’m doing rs, biology and chemistry a level. I’m so scared because everyone says revise as you go along but what does that mean. Like do I just go over the notes again and again or make new condensed notes or practice questions etc.
Yasin Khan it’s HARD AS HELL ... I acc did the same revision for gcse so like two months before a level exams I revised hardcore butttt you can’t leave it lastttt minute ... you have to start from September believe me
Akanksha Desai yes so when you do a lesson revise it when u come home make flash cards Mindmaps what ever helps u and DO MULTIPLE EXAM QUESTIONS
You smash it. Literally. Every glass window, and then run
I feel like making notes after every lesson is a really good idea, my sixth form is about 50 minutes (by bus) away from my house so I have to stay the full day, five days a week so after every class I have on my frees I could just go to a quiet room and make notes and stuff after each class
Hi Eve:
Wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU for coming out to the seminar on Saturday and speaking your truth.
I didn’t get w chance to speak to you, but Ariadne, my daughter, had so much fun with you and - believe it or not - YOU were the person she wanted to meet the MOST (and Jade). She wanted to meet EVERYONE, of course, and everyone’s kindness was so extremely appreciated, but Eve, we have watched you for quite some time now (only our man Ibz has been longer - LOVE YA IBZ!) and the way you spoke so honestly and freely about just how difficult things became for you this year and the fact you took it upon yourself to ask for help spoke VOLUMES!!
Mental health is no joke and, especially for young people who are just figuring out this world, it is CRUCIAL we love, honour, respect and help you all but also that we acknowledge that mental health is an ongoing job for each of us, every single day.
You were right to say there is no “getting over it,” or “being cured” if the issue is at a clinical level and it is disrespectful for anyone, family, friends, peers and, especially the older adults around our young people to suggest anyone can just “get over” extremely difficult times.
While we will never know all you went through, and you are fully right to keep your private life - private - the fact you were willing to talk about your most vulnerable moments and acknowledging it is still a “work in progress” was so extremely beautiful and, SUPPORTIVE of all those young people who were sitting and listening with attentive ear and focused mind on their own personal situations.
I loved what you had to say and I CANNOT ever thank you enough! Counselling is a challenge to admit to needing and it may not be the right path for everyone, but it is a GREAT step forward to ensuring the thing that should matter MOST in our young people’s lives is their own life - physical, mental, emotional, and then academic or work or whatever other stage they are on.
I truly hope and pray that educators and the government will listen up to young people like yourself. Mental Health MUST be a priority. Our young people are struggling and they don’t have to be trying to support themselves all alone.
You have a tremendous set of friends who clearly love you and that is also SO important!
Thank you so very much Eve! You were FANTASTIC!
We honestly wish you a second year that becomes easier on all fronts but, most relevantly, that you know there are those of us who will listen and do.
Yours With Warmth,
Rose, Ariadne and Karsten
This is the most lovely comment I’ve ever received! Thank you SO much for your kind words - sending all my love and positive energy your way! X
How do you deal with feeling like you're not smart enough for what you're doing?
Study Blair defo
Literally me
Know that most people are feeling the same as you. I had massive imposters syndrome in my further maths class because others seemed to understand it more, but then some of the "confident" people actually dropped out because they found it really hard.
Hard work beats talent ;) if you passed through GCSEs you are definitely able to get A*s in a levels if you have the right mindset
Drop the subject
when i saw this i got a w a v e of anxiety, im excited but really scared for 6 form and ive seen so many a level videos about chemistry beening really difficault and im scared to drop it just to give up
I am going to yr13, and I personally liked chemistry the most, tho there are few topics that can seem difficult honestly with repetition - when it clicks it’s always there. The chem exams are probably the easiest if you know the content well enough. Hope this calms you down !
Crippling Depression Don’t worry chem content is not that hard but getting marks are hard
Hey how’s it going? I’m going into year 12 and yeah I’m worried about chemistry as well. Is it as bad as people say?
@@puddleduck1405 I’m wanting to do chem next yr too and our teacher said it’s the hardest alevel out there but I think they’re over exadurating. I think it’s kind of like biology: the content is not too hard but the way to get marks are. Like eve said if you like chemistry it won’t be as hard and you’ll actually enjoy it.

much more excited for year 12 now, I was so worried about the so called “jump” between year 11&12 !! Thank you so much for calming me down ! :)
I went from BEU in year 12 to A* AA at the end of year 13 in psychology geography and maths! I agree with everything eve said! Her advice is brilliant and If anyone has any other questions then I’ll be happy to answer! I’m currently on a gap year trying to rescue my awful mental health and I’ll be filming my sixth form and Alevel experience video tomorrow for an upload on Tuesday :) x
Doesnt the grade shift tho like 50 percent of As and 50 percent of A2 and hen the overall grade?
Aena Mustafa no, the new Alevels are linear so you only have the exam at the end of year 13
@@PhoebeJones oh i did my aslevels in bio, chem, psychology and got really bad grades (EUD) dont know whther to drop chem or take another subject like business and fast track it , thinking of giving retake for psych along with my a2 exams and retake for Bio too, idk what course exactly i wanna do but study abroad somewhere in US on a sholarship, do u think doing an alevel in ur native language (urdu) as a 3rd subject means unis wont see it or consider it?

I’m about to go into year 13 (year 12 for anyone in England)

For GCSE’s I rewrote all my notes in around January and I feel like actually writing them is what helped. Congrats those are amazing grades!
Why do I feel like this video is a month too late 🤯🤯🤯
Going into year 12 and am in a major dilemma about if my a levels are right.
"Don't pick your a-levels based on what you think you want to go into as a career". So true. I did Maths for that reason other than it fit with my other a levels in science. No point! Hated it! Should have done something I actually liked like drama.
Eve is actually such a good singer, I love it ❤️😂
gal i’m gonna need this because my old eng lang teacher just asked me to go back and speak to the new year 12s on how to be successful and i’m like i want the free book token but also literally did not revise for english loool

I really needed this - I've been watching so many videos on sixth form and ALL told me the jump from GCSE to A Level would be terrifying and nearly everyone is getting U's at the start. Granted, I did get some good tips but sometimes we just need to BREATHE.

Aena Mustafa Chem is honestly really difficult. If you’re struggling with it and you haven’t been getting good grades you need to think about 2 things. 1 are there any other Alevels that you think you can realistically do in a year and get good grades in. 2 Do you need chemistry for where you want to go in the future. For example Medicine requires Chemistry.
This video is PERFECT, considering I start sixth form on Tuesday!

year 12 is going to be interesting!
i was hoping something like this would come just an hour ago, thank you!! x
I'm in Y12, wanting to change all of my A-levels from English Lit, Sociology and Philosophy to: Physics, Maths and Chemistry. This means restarting Y12 and resitting GCSE maths.
My school strongly advised against this (understandably), but I decide my future, and I have always wanted to do Aerospace engineering in an apprenticeship after Y13.
How did this happen? Firstly, I chose English etc. because I did not meet the Maths grade needed to take science. Unfortunately, I did not distribute revision time evenly with the sciences and Maths. I had a natural aptitude for Maths, so i thought I could get on fine.
I thought that I could somehow force myself to love English, Sociology and Philosophy and that I would end up doing Law in university. But, I hated the essay dense homework, although I am a hard worker- it's just not my passion.
So, yeah. I screwed up. But can my sixth-form really force me to continue with my current A-levels? I'd be incredibly unhappy with my future job!
Stay safe everyone! :)
