The problem is that I personally have been working so so hard for the past 5 years of my life to the point where I have no hobbies, one friend, and no social life at all. I'm also the only child so all hopes are on me. This sounds very immature, but this year I decided that I want to chill a little bit and maybe not study all the time because this is the last year if me childhood, I'll be 18 next year and I haven't even been a proper teenager yet. So yes, by all means please do study because it is your priority, but don't get yourself a mental breakdown, especially if you have been a maniac about studying all along (you know who you guys are). You will never live this year ever again, so please life it and don't just study it.
(Sorry that I'm counteracting your points Ibz, it's just I wish someone has told me what I'm saying right now 3 years ago, because I though good grades will be worth all my sacrifices. I got 4 A grades for AS, and it wasn't. I am now having to take a gap year because I don't know who I am and what I like and who I want to be. Again this is just me, please apply my words to your personal situation)

I watched this video and others from ibiz Mo last summer when I was stressing after year 12 thinking about year 13. I sit here today, having fought my way through year 13 and have just finished my a levels. Genuinely everything he says is true, my whole life this year was all about work. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and how hard I worked, reaching As and A*s from before I was getting Cs and Ds. Hopefully a level results day is kind to me 😂😁🙏👊

Coming from a state school, I’ve had hardly any help with my application or personal statement, so I’ve taught myself about the entire process. Ibz I had my first day back in year 13 on Wednesday and let me tell you it was just so overwhelming. I literally fast walked home to just be able to get in the door and cry everything out. First let’s start with all the covid stuff which is giving me anxiety. The masses of people in one space with no masks is just asking for infections- I’ve never felt more vulnerable in the whole time this has been going on. Secondly school has already started with the whole personal statement deadlines ( which for me is next Thursday - this is internal deadline of course cause I’m doing dentistry ), bmat, exams in 2 weeks, predicted grades etc and I just can’t cope- like there’s too much to do plus revising last year’s stuff too- I actually wanna end things right now. Thirdly there has been a really bad change to my chem class situation. So me and chem just don’t get on- I’d say I struggle More than most to understand it- it takes me longer and needs to be explained to me several times. Each year we have 2 chem teachers and last year one of them was literally the chem teacher from HELL. She goes too fast, is actually scary, and when I ask her to explain stuff she just repeats what she’s said in a patronising way rather than actually asking what I’m stuck on. This year the nice teacher has left to teach elsewhere so I’m stuck with that teacher plus another new one who I’m not sure is good or not cause I’ve never had her. It’s actually giving me so so so much anxiety cause I don’t understand chem as it is but to make matters worse my best friend who actually was my LIFELINE in that class cause she helped me with anything I was stuck on has now been moved to another class. I’m so upset that I’m in a class with no one I know and rubbish teachers for a subject I need to get an A in. I asked my head of year if I could swap to that class because it would be better to be in a class with teachers that are actually supportive and approachable and with my friends who can help me but she said no- she didn’t even give me a valid reason why not she just said it’s not something we usually do and if everyone came to her asking to swap classes it would be chaos- well no it wouldn’t be chaos cause everyone else happens to be happy with their classes but ME. I thought it could easily be done because those chem classes take place when I have frees so it wouldn’t clash with any of my other subjects. I’m actually so so so frustrated and done. Like I haven’t even had any lessons yet and my anxiety is at an all time high and my depression too 😭😢

Understand the content first. Start with the basics because if you don’t understand the basics you won’t be able to understand the harder stuff. Even if you don’t know what 1+1 is..learn it till you understand. After understanding the content, start memorising. And continuously memories as you go along. Memorise the content again and again even if you think you know it go over it again and again until it’s stored in your long term memory. Practice and exam questions. Do those all the time. Understand how your exam board asks the questions. Keep doing exam questions as you go a long.

Here are tips for core subjects!
English language revision 🏴
What you need to do is write the perfect English language paper; what I mean by that is look at UA-cam videos on how to write each of the questions in paper 1 and 2 properly (that’ll get you full marks) then write it, referring back to the mark scheme. Afterwards, show your teacher these perfect essays of every question and get them to mark it. Add in the feedback into your essay (if it means you need to write it again, so be it. Then, give it to your teacher to mark again until you get full marks on each question. Then, whenever you do a English question, refer back to these perfect essays that you’ve written, until you can remember the “formula” that makes it good.
Mathematics 🧮
Since you’re doing triple science, I take that you’re doing maths higher paper. If you don’t know, there are two sets of maths papers that you can take; higher, and foundation. In the foundation paper the highest grade you can get is a 5, whereas in higher, you can get up to a grade 9. So, first of all, I suggest doing maths higher paper (ask your teacher, they’ll move you to a set 2 or 1 if you’re not in it!) now, I recommend watching videos and doing past paper questions on the website Maths genie. On the website, there’s a list of all topics that may come up on the GCSE maths paper. It’s imperative that you work your way up; start at grade 3 at least and don’t just learn grade 7/8/9 stuff because you won’t know any foundation knowledge, and believe it or not, those get you a ton of marks at the start of the paper. Anyways, go onto maths genie (it’s free) watch the video, take some rough notes if you’d like, then start completing past paper questions that are on the website. There’s also a website called corbettmaths, they have these worksheets called 5 a day, basically they’re just 5 questions that you can complete. It’s split up into foundation and higher tier, so do both, so that if you don’t understand a question, you can ask your teacher what topic it is, and look watch a video on maths genie that’ll explain it. As for past papers, I recommend you do them once you learn most/all the content that will appear on your paper.

Use Physicsandmathstutor to complete past paper questions; they’re not like actual exam papers, but they put a bunch of exam questions of a certain topic.
When you get on the quizlet website, you have to select the subject you want, then after you select your exam board. It’s super important you know your exam board so you know all the content that’ll be in your exam. If you don’t know it, ASK YOUR TEACHERS!!
Another tip; your teachers are there to help. Even if you hate them, ask them as much as you can! Due to corona, it may be best if you email them with your school email 📧
If you like revision guides, I recommend getting the CGP ones. You can buy them if you want (if you don’t, I use libgen.io to download them as PDFs lol! Just type in CGP in the search box and it’ll pull it up. Remember to download the cgp book for the new spec!)
I wish you the best!! I’m sitting my GCSEs next year (I’m in year 11) and these tips have helped me! I do geography, computer science and btec music so if you want help with any of those I’m glad to be of assistance! It’s great you wanna start revising now, it’ll 100% help you in the long run! I suggest to not revise for long (at most, 2 hours a day) as you don’t want to burn out.

The purpose from what I've been told/inferred the reason why in North America (I'm in Canada) we don't choose all our subjects is the government wants us to have wide variety of courses because it is possible to still not 100% have settled upon a profession while in Secondary School.We do have to take so many required electives (classes of the students choice). It's also my understanding your college is more like our High School. There are merits to both systems...

As a second year at uni, I thoroughly agree with everything Ibz has said, especially about priories/work. When I got a part time job and started having money, it was actually a little distracting and almost addicting? So yeah definitely drop that part time job by Year 13 February latest (that's what I did as well) if you can!
