I wish I could come see you. I have insulin resistance, Hashimotos, low progesterone. Definitely can’t come to Canada. I do have an appointment with a bariatric program that I hope will help beyond just bariatric surgery. I take Keppra for epilepsy that is controlled so bariatric surgery scares me with that.
a good naturopath or in US they are called functional med doctor can fix all of this for you. I fixed mine, with Progesterone cream which you can buy yourself in any drugstore or online, i like now brand, Hashi's got fixed with diet, no wheat, no inflammatory foods, take selenium, and eventually went on natural dessicated thyroid. be careful though progesterone really helps with preventing seizures, so you might have to adjust keppra, and dont do surgery, its unecessary. I lost 106 lbs in 9 months.
Omg he seems to be a phenomenal dr and the best wealth of great information on this platform. I just love him. He explains things that are in depth in a way most can understand. I especially loved his video on the causes of weight fluctuations...I am on ozempic..0.5mg and I'm trying so hard with diet and walking ect but the scale fluctuates wildly!! One day I'm 270...the next I'm 277 or 278. Very disappointing and when I have to go to the Dr and stand on the scale and it looks like I'm just not trying hard enough it's very disheartening...so I very much appreciated that video to explain why and how these fluctuations happen. All of his videos are amazing and he seems to have such a friendly demeanor...anyone would be lucky to have him as a dr.
Hi Dr Dan. Thank you for all your great videos! I’m currently on Saxenda and have a scrip for mounjaro, (waiting for it to become available again) but I’m curious about something with these drugs. I understand a certain amount, thanks to you, about how the glp1 agonists work, but I’m curious if they also have an effect on metabolism. That’s the part I don’t understand. Thanks. 😊
Good vid, good topic. 👍 An interesting (maybe even kinda exciting) related topic might be, ‘Best *Future* Drug for Weight-Loss’. AKA a round-up of all the promising WL drugs that’ll likely come available in the next 2-3 years. 🤔
So I’ve been on a Ozempic since November. Lost some weight (not as much as others). So far I went up 2 does. Now I’ve been on 1mg for a months. I feel like it’s not working as well. When I called my doctor the nurse said that she wouldn’t up the does because my blood pressure will drop too low. Do you think this is so? I mean 1 mg isn’t that much! Thanks so much Dr. Dan.
@theofficialdrdan Hi Dr. Dan, Is there any data on how long someone would have to come off Tirzepatide to totally reset receptors etc so that it becomes an appetite suppressant again? I'm on the max dose of 15mg weekly and as far as an appetite suppressant it's now has zero effect.
@@theofficialdrdan Any certain video? I mean I love you dude but don't want to binge watch today if there is a certain video that goes into detail on the subject:) Thanks so much!
just get used to the feeling, you are losing fat when your stomach rumbles. if you have eaten a decent meal in the last 12 to 18 hours, you are not truly hungry, just hangry. eat an apple and drink a bottle of water. it will quiet your rumbly tumbly. personally,I like the feeling. if it gets too much and dinner is hours away, I have a handful of nuts and a cup of tea or coffee. works great. dont rely on drugs. willpower baby!
I posted this on an older video but can you do a video about the hims weight loss program (or more generically about the combination of metformin, topiramate, b-12, and contrave that they use)? I am considering it but have also been thinking of ozempic but I am terrified of even the smallest needles lol
I mean in theory that should all help manage weight. Minus B12. Which would just create expensive urine. But how effective it would be is unknown. There is also a lot of potential side effects. I'd look at rybelsus instead.
Dr Dan, I Lost 85 lbs on Ozempic, I am currently on Rybelsus because of the shortage, I maintain my wieght but do not lose. I saw my Dr last week, told her all this, asked for Zepbound or Mounjaro she refused and prescriped Saxenda which is not available here in Québec either.. I have 25 more pounds to loose, I eat healthy, walk 2 km a day, took my lhealth in my own hands, but I'm stuck weight wise . Do you know if Saxenda will be available soon? Thanks xx
Saxenda is currently available and not shorted in canada. As far as I know. If you've lost 85 lbs, you might not lose much more. It sounds like you are doing great and it might be time to look at what additional loss will actually provide.
@Vern True. For weight-loss via cardio, intensity does seem to beat duration. 😓 ‘Course, you gotta check with your doc to make sure your heart is good to go for such things. 💓
@theofficialdrdan I'm sorry I wasn't trying to be rude or sny...I love all of ur videos. Best medical videos and explanations I've seen on youtube and I always look forward to ur content. I just didn't know if u were aware it looked very blurry and I couldn't read the diagram u posted at all. Idk if it was perhaps on my end..but I apologize if my comment seems short or rude
@justjen3216 thank you so much for that response! I apologize for the bluntness of my comment. I am always happy to receive constructive feedback to improve. Your follow-up comment gives me a lot more to work with as I didn't realize the graph was blurry. So thank you, I appreciate it! Thank you for the kind words. I am so glad to hear my videos are valuable!

They do not. There are no effects on increasing metabolism!

The drugs don't work like that. Check out my other videos I go over what are the issues!

IMO, if you are only walking, you might try more intense cardio, though not going overboard with it (cross fit. etc).
