I’m on Mounjaro for a week now and I’ve already lost weight. I have almost zero appetite. I drink a lot of water and tea naturally, so I don’t need to remind myself of hydration. I eat every evening a small protein dense dinner. Almost no side effects. Only a bit more burping after food. I feel fantastic.
I am doing well on Mounjaro. My a1c is within normal level and I am losing weight. No side effects for me. Thankful. Expect to take for rest of my life.
I started taking .25ml Tirzepitide this week along with modifying my diet. Is it common for your body to feel more fatigued during these early stages. Yesterday my 6 mile walk, while I did finish seemed much harder. Today I walked 18 holes of golf which I do 3 times per week, but today I was tired the last 6 holes.
Been on this for two weeks for my diabetes and I’m having an awful time! The side affects have been really difficult to deal with! I can’t live like this, im miserable!!

I lost 40 pounds on Mounjaro for 3 months. I had to stop it bc I got gout in my ankle 2 days every week after shooting it. I couldn’t walk so I’m going to try it again with gout meds. Very helpful thank you. I started Mounjero yesterday. A fairly aggressive diarrhea has occurred so I’ll watch my fluid level intake. Oh, and I started at the lowest dose. I may have missed something, but I wondered if this side effect would go away after a while? Again, thank you so much.

So informative... thank you for this video. I've lost 80lbs over the past couple years (340 to 260+) but about 6 months ago found out I have osteoarthritis in my right knee. Unfortunately because of this I've not been able to be as active and hit a stall and even gained a bit back as I've had some depression due to my knee. I've been considering Mounjaro as my insurance covers it and I feel it can help me in many ways. My cholesterol is still high and I'm on multiple BP medicines. Prediabetic and slight sleep apnea. I feel it can help in all of those areas and also prevent further knee (and back as I have a herniated disc) damage in the long run. I was hesitant based on some articles I've read but your video has reassured me and I may ask my doctor for a prescription. I already meal prep and eat clean so I think I'd see success. Thanks again!!
Your story similar to my slightly, I start my Mounjaro tomorrow, I have been diagnose with osteoarthritis 6yrs ago, I lost 23lbs on my own before and my left knee felt great. Now I'm back up to 264lbs and I'm Type2 Diabetic, I excited to start this Monujaro tomorrow, what ever you do get knee injection from your knee doctor, they do work and get a spin cycle works wonders for the work out. My cholesterol is good, my BP is high and I'm only taking one med for that. I looking to see all of this get corrected on my up coming Journey. Don't let you knee depress you my friend, once that weight drop you will wake up one morning not feeling pain in your knee. I wish you best!

I got a coupon that brought it down from 1200 to 550 and I shelled out the cash. Ironically I just took my first injection a few minutes before you commented. I was hella terrified of the needle but there was no pain. I’ll update next week👌
@@matthewwaters9131thank you
@@dougbarbera so after the first week I just weighed in at 261.7… which is nuts😭 and that is without working out or changing what I am eating only portion control.
@@matthewwaters9131how is it going?
(USA)…I must say from someone on Mounjaro 1yr now due to diabetes you certainly done your homework on this missing NO marks,Canada listen to him especially about no need titrating doses up i been on 12.5 x 7mos wishing i stayed on lower dose 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Good to know.
I have the med in my refrigerator now. Been afraid to start. Thank YOU for your video. 😊
Me too
Me too! 😢 so afraid of the side affects!
Me too. I got it today.
@@vatisanesbit8193how has it been?
I did this when prescribed trulicity I had it in the fridge for 1 month before Finley did it lol
I was on trulicity from Dec 203 to April 2024 now insurance won't pay and dr wants me on MJ
Once again I'm afraid of the side effects 😕 😅
I’m scared to take my dosage because of the possibility of side affect but I truly should for my overall health. Good video.
Did you start? I will start next week but just like you, I’m scared of the side effects
@@LalaWard-vs4ze No I didn’t. 🥲. What about you?
You really should, particularly if you've tried everything else.
@@LalaWard-vs4ze I would be way way more scared of disease and inflammation, joint pain and passing away younger !
I've had multiple times when I've been sick on mounjaro where my digestive system quit working for about 3 days. It's a horrible feeling. Hopefully you do not develop these side effects
For diabetes patients only as is Ozempic.
Thank you for a great video. This is the best one I've watched yet.
Thank you for watching!
I have been on mounjaro a year. I have lost 90lbs. With no side effects. I have now gone 2 weeks without it due to shortage. Ugh.
Try checking other pharmacies, I had to drive 30 miles to another pharmacy in the chain, who had stock. Minor annoyance but very worth it!!!!
One year😮🙈
I started taking .25ml Tirzepitide this week along with modifying my diet.
Can you be more descriptive with what in in that makes you feel miserable.
Suffering the same, nausea, abdominal pain, joint pain, fatigue, generally feeling ill. It was prescribed for type 2 diabetes, it seems to have worked quickly to reduce blood sugar, but I dont know if I can keep going with it, miserable is a good description. I was not overweight so l'm not going to see weight loss, I'd already worked hard at diet and exercise before reaching this point.
Thank you for this video. Great information. I have had my prescription for a week. I will start Monday.
I lost 40 pounds on Mounjaro for 3 months. I had to stop it bc I got gout in my ankle 2 days every week after shooting it. I couldn’t walk so I’m going to try it again with gout meds. I really didn’t have many side effects on 5 mg besides a little bit of acid reflux and the gout issue which went away when I stopped Mounjaro
How are you going now?
Very very informative and excellent presentation
Thank you for such a thorough vlog! Specifically your coverage on side effects and the thyroid. Much appreciated!
What happens when you stop taking Mounjaro - does all the weight come back, and more ? That's my concern
That is my question as well
It’s a unicorn now until August 2024. I lost about 80 pounds in under a year. Amazing. Now it’s all about lifestyle adjustments since it’s totally unavailable now.
You will not consider a compound?

Very helpful thank you. I started Mounjero yesterday. A fairly aggressive diarrhea has occurred so I’ll watch my fluid level intake. Oh, and I started at the lowest dose. I may have missed something, but I wondered if this side effect would go away after a while? Again, thank you so much.
@@FoxBox72 Yes, then constipation hit and is ongoing so I have to make sure I really hit the fiber. Sometimes a stool softener. I have stayed on 2.5 and not sure if I will go up to 5. I have lost about 20 lbs in 3 months and blood sugar controlled well
After the first dose of mounjaro I realized that my arthritis pain in my joints which I've had for years was completely gone. I can go upstairs with ease whereas before I struggled greatly. I have been prescribed arthritis drugs off and on in the past and got zero relief. What is happening??
Dr. Dan, Excellent video. Thank you so much!
@@nyknick821 your already to go than , if you don’t crave sweets and find a pool to exercise in then right on !!! More power to you
I'm type 2 diabetic withvery high cholesterol, triglycerides and fatty liver. Doctor put me on 2.5 mg Mounjaro. Took my first dose on a Thiresday afternoon. The next day, I didnt eat until 4 pm. The appetite suppression is real. Finished my 7th shot (still on 2.5 mg). Doctor does not want to jkump to 5 mg yet since I lost weight from 2.5 mg . Weighed 205 ort 205 and I am now 189 or 190. Before Mounjaro, I was taking Metformin (1,000 mg) per day for about a month I think. But now I'm taking Metformion and Mounjaro together.
Me too🙌👍
Thank you and wish me luck. You are the first doctor who's made sense and not been a huckster
There is now Zepbound for weight loss. Leave the Mounjaro to the diabetics. All the off label use is causing shortages which is ridiculous.
they are both manufactured by Eli Lilly and are literally the same (tirzepatide), sold under different brand names.
@@justadbeerYes but because of the FDA approvals, Mounjaro is for diabetics and Zepbound is for weight loss. Many insurance companies don’t cover drugs for weight loss so Mounjaro is being prescribed off label. There are now shortages and diabetics are unable to get their medication.
So anyone that’s been on MJ should just stop? What if their insurance doesn’t cover Zepbound but their insurance approved MJ because they have already been taking it? Kinda seems like your anger is misplaced don’t ya think?
@@yvonneallen5955. No she's absolutely right. Diabetes is no joke. You can lose legs and have heart attacks, etc. Use other meds for weight loss, and leave mounjaro for those who need it to lower their A1C .
It's exactly the same drug just different brand names....
Great info Dr. Dan! Thank you.
I lost 13kg but stalled so I go on mounjaro 5mg.
Some side affects include, fatigue, lots of burping, farting, constipation followed by diarrhoea.
I recommend drinking lots of water. Also electrolytes. Stay safe.
Great recommendations 💙💙
Excellent review. The knowledgeable simplicity I was looking for. Thanks doc!
Glad it was helpful!
Love my semiglutide, helped me lose 20 pds, no side effects, whatsoever, and I take pysch meds and BP med, no adverse reactions whatsoever!

I've been on this but had horrific side effects including pancreatitis. People ignore the risks
Did your symptoms resolve after stopping?
What does were you on when pancreatitis occured and how how far along were you when it happened?
I'm currently on week 3 of 2.5mg and I have injected my 4th dose when I was supposed to, because I got scared about a sudden stomach discomfort/pain I got on my upper epi gastric area. I went and paid to get a lipase blood test done today to see if I have pancreatitis.

This is a great video with a lot of helpful information. Thank you. What about dizzyness, lightheadedness, weakness? Sometimes it looks like hypoglycemia but is that possible without a concurrent medication that is meant to manage blood sugar?

Wierd how it effects people different, I was once a 7 day with movements now I'm once a day with ozempic and it's a wanted side effect for me.
How expensive is this in America? I see people talking about coverage and whatnot.
Here in Poland it costs about 80USD per 15 mg vial. No matter if you’re insured or not.
it's 110$/ month with good insurance, but there is a coupon from lilly and it goes down to 25$
Sounds like the benefits of this drug outweigh any side effects.
Hi Dr, can I take this medication without gallbladder?
Thanks
Thank you for your video, it really gave me confidence to try this medicine.
Amazing information 👌🏾 i got myself one. I'm just a little scared to take it as i got high blood pressure. Do i continue with my tablets also?. And is it more wise to take multi vitamins with this medication?
I just started taking Mounjaro, but my vision is really blurry...does this mean that I need to stop taking it or is it just temporary? It is really driving me crazy...It almost makes it impossible for me to walk sometimes.
It could be your vision has corrected now that you have less glucose in your blood.
Get an eye exam and check your prescription or update it.
What about getting prescribed mounjaro not for weight loss, never been overweight, just type 2 diabetic and very insulin resistant? Will I lose too much weight on it?
Is Mounjaro now covers by insurance for weight loss?
How long does one typically need to take this medication for Insulin Resistance?
Forever as upkeep
Thank for sharing 😊
I think the problems that arise is going on this alone without a doctor, and not regularly checking bloodwork.
That can be part of it.
I've been on Mounjaro for about 2 months now. I've lost 20 lbs and counting. My sugar levels are at the best numbers in years. Usually 90's to low 100's after waking up. The only side effect I have is my back aching a lot of the time. But other than that everything has been good.
How is your back ache now?
@@AuditClerk still have it. I got to sit down every once in a while especially at work to rest my back.
@@RamonVazquez-kn4id What has your doctor said? Just concerned that it may be related to the kidneys ...
@@AuditClerk its not the kidneys. Everything checked out good. The back pain is middle to upper back. It just burns like if you've been working out until burnout. It just feels tired all the time if i walk around or stand up for a while. I never had back pain before i started taking mounjaro. I go to the gym all the time and even then my back didn't burn. They tell me to take something for the pain like ibuprophen but i dont want to take something on top of what i already take. So i just deal with it. I'm at 175 lbs from 205 lbs so I'm good with that.
@@RamonVazquez-kn4id I'm very glad to learn it's not your kidneys and that everything checked out! Thank you. this was a great summary. I am on 2.5mg and no side effects. I am losing about 4lbs per week. Can you comment on use of metformin and intermittent fasting along with Mounjaro? I actually feel great and am only concerned about getting enough protein.
I’m excited my pcp gave me a sample box (4) to start in January. He said his office has a representative that comes and brings samples. He assured me when I come for my monthly visit; he would have my next monthly sample. The dosage is 2.5. I have an awesome relationship with my pcp. My insurance wouldn’t cover it.

If you are worried about your protein intake drink a no dairy diet protein shake for breakfast. 2 scoops = 60-80g
Can I ask a question? I’m opposite diabetic. I normally have low blood sugar specially in the morning or after exercise. I’m slightly overweight and would like to take Mounjaro but I’m worried about my low blood sugar levels

Does Mounjaro affect the absorption of Warfarin? I have noticed my INR has been higher and not in therapeutic range.
It potentially can. Would get reviewed by your care team!

Mounjaro is a lot stronger med and having duel actions! I was a mess. I didn’t read up on it enough before I started it but also blame my endocrinologist PA for not giving any education on it.
Sorry to hear that friend!
Take accountability for your own health. Do your own research. And stop blaming others.
I was on Ozempic for threw months. Ended up in the er with gastro issues. Have not had any issues other than burping.
Given the way this med works why can’t you just eat less. Quit blaming everything on your providers. Exercise and diet is the way to go. Self discipline!!
