Really good video ! Thank You ! Great tip on hanging the tool from a belt clip + showing each implement and the different uses. Also the different uses of the lanyard. Outstanding. Best to You and Yours.
I carry my larger Vic's with a belt clip like you do, but instead of having a loop that stays attached to the knife, I have a loop that stays attached to the belt clip. There is a small swivel snap hook on the other end of the loop that attaches to the knife's key ring. That way, I can unclip the belt loop from the key ring, and there is no loop attached to the knife while I'm using it.
Rewatching the Video for the 3rd time I carry a Swiss Champ and been wanting to upgrade to this one The Cost is a Bit Much but it pays itself off with the Use and enjoyment you get out of it. Currently using a Hide and Drink sheath for the Swiss champ.
I do have the SwissChamp. I was hesitating to buy the CyberTool L because of the bit kit. But I didn't want to lose the solid Phillips screwdriver, nor the magnifying glass, nor the measure on the fish descaler. So I had to buy the SwissChamp XLT. It it true that the XLT is somewhat a "brick", unlike the classical SwissChamp (which is very easy to carry). But I've got used to it. It's an amazing tool that fully covers all of my needs, so I am no way willing to give it up. I keep on carrying it on my keys, and I'm just fine.
Thanks for sharing! I have been carrying an XLT on and off for a few years. I basically had the same dilemma; having a hard time to choose between the toolset of the Swisschamp and the Cybertool L. I totally agree with almost everything you're saying, from carrying it dangling from the belt over using a Firefly to the usability of the medical spatula. I really think it's an amazing knife with great tools. For me, it definitely isn't too big or heavy to carry either, but I *do* find it cumbersome to use at times. The main "issue" I have is that due to its thickness, most drivers are too off-center to be used comfortably. Eg when turning flatheads (or square sockets) with the flat driver, multiple rotations become extremely uncomfortable. Similarly, the hack with the pen stuck under the hook works beautifully up to the size of the Cybertool L or Swisschamp, but it becomes almost unusable with the width of the XLT. At least for my hands, that is. Don't you experience any of those "ergonomic" issues? So while I really love this knife, I have been finding myself to fall back on the Cybertool most of the time 🤔
When using the pen and the hook if you turned the knife sideways in hold the hook down with the index finger it's easier to write with On the screw driver or the Bit driver I put my index finger on the side of the knife with the philips screwdriver and it helps me keep it centred And by turning the screw driver 1/2 or 3/4 turn I don't have a problem with it being off centre The Swiss army knife in my opinion for small jobs and when I have a larger job I will get a dedicated tool for example if I'm opening up a couple bags of sand I use my Swiss army knife if I have to open up 20 bags on go get a dedicated knife If I'm sawing a small piece of wood I may use my Swiss army knife for bigger pieces of wood l get my bigger saw Basically the more I use it the easier it is to use.
@@DaegDraco Thanks for those answers! I guess, I'll have to give it some more tries. I have to admit that I might have a rather weird use case for it: after a couple of unwanted visitors broke several pad locks, the shed door of our weekend cottage nowadays is "locked" with two four inch security torx screws. For some weird but gratifying reason, housebrakers don't seem to have those bits readily available... To get in there, i use a socket bit, perfectly fitting on the flathead driver of the Victorinox (unfortunately I haven't been able to source a matching bit for the Cybertool bit driver yet). To "unlock" the door, it takes about 30-40 revolutions per screw, so the ergonomics actually start to matter. Then, _after_ having opened the door, I have plenty of tools for more demanding tasks, but not prior to that 😉 But I totally agree: the XLT is an amazing tool that _can_ handle almost any task thrown at it. It is by no means the unusable monster that some try to depict it as. Quite the opposite. Once again, thanks for sharing!

@@DaegDraco All 4mm micro-bits should fit the Cybertool driver, so most precision screw driver bits should fit. In most cases, you'd just want to use some magnet to prevent them from falling out. I haven't managed to find micro bits that are large enough for those screws of mine, however... And suddenly it dawned on me, that the easier solution might be to simply use screws with smaller heads... hmm... duh... didn't think of that... hmm... Guess I'm not that smart after all 😀
I appreciate the review. I have the Handyman, which I consider the Swiss Champ Lite, it has served me well in day to day work. However, I am not one to collect implements for what I do typically, I want a one solutions tool. I currently carry the Handyman (hanging from a pocket clip) and a Milwaukee 6-in-1 utility knife with hex driver. With that setup, I have never noticed them being an I convince in my pocket and I only wear regular denim jeans. I carry the Milwaukee for dirty work (box cutting, scoring something, etc) however after seeing this video I believe this knife would address everything that I need and take up the same or a little bit more pocket space than my current setup. Lots to think about. Thank you for your review and insight!
The wearer striper work's with out the blade some one has just made it up using it that way with the blade what you do is put the wire in the notch bend it then pull I've used it for many years for car speakers great little tool
2:00 thanks so much for this video. Very useful to see this demo. In my case, I think carrying this tool in this way will work depending on how one's jeans fits. In my case, even straight-fit jeans don't have that much loose space in my pocket due to thicker legs relative to my waist.
I have the Swiss Champ, and every time they upgraded, I bought the newer one. But the XLT is far beyond a mere upgrade. It's almost 2 Swiss Champs, lol. Not to mention, there are two!🙄 One with Cyber tools and one with driver and bits. 😵💫 Makes it hard to justify buying only one.
You can make a screwdriver with the can opener by getting a hexagonal cube in which you insert the driver bit, the can opener goes perfectly on 1 side of the hexagon and behold you can now have any type of driver bit from flatheads to starheads and philips heads, and if you ditch the jeans for CARGO pants, you can carry 2 swiss champs or 2 multi tools of your choice and a tiny box containing at least 20 different driver bits, all in 1 pocket which is absolutely INSANE, people praise me when there is something that needs to be done but they never have the right tool to get the job done, ALSO if youre a fan of EDC i highly recommend you get a DANGO WALLET with the flat steel tool they provide, so now your wallet is also a helpful companion. When you have cargo pants the possiblities are ENDLESS its like having a personalized inventory that doesnt involve carrying a purse, also makes you feel like youre playing a video game with the endless tools at your disposal there is no task too big or too small, the only limit is your imagination
Great video, thank you! I think Cyber tool lite or Handyman + Champ XLT (because CT lite has pliers and LED/ Handyman has pliers). Pliers can come in handy to hold things (eg. when they're hot or slippery, etc.) while you use some tool from XLT on them.

Best tool for stay and chill days. Takes time to choose tools. I prefer CT plus a Leatherman wave/skeletool or a PM2 for quick knife one handed opening and a manager. Regardless its the most complete and replaces a tool box. But for the weight and the space it occupies, I will choose the wave or swisstool X but these are heavy set up. I usually bring a huntsman or handyman with a manager and o light i3e. They are in 3 separate 3 quick release paracords and keychain. Its nice to have but heavy carry for edc.
I would recommend a victorinox knife, They have a lot of different models so it would be easier to find the one with the tools you need. Two good knives that I Own are the Swiss champ and cybertool L I have another video that explains the difference between the 2 knives but either one would be an excellent choice.
really nice video. I liked that you pointed out exactly the differences between the models. thanks you!
