The first time I heard saxon was in 2000 at shwung festival.... my reaction was the same... 22 years later I have all albums on vinyl and have seen them live 10 times! Every time I hear a Saxon song I get happy !
I appreciate that you just sat and absorbed it. You made me get back into an old one that cant be forgotten..its cool that you got into it like you did
I saw Saxon a few years ago. They opened for Judas Priest. Pretty cool band. Biff Byford still has a good voice. Some great rythyms. Denim and Leather's a good tune.
Saxon sounds like a lot of beers. Hey man, I learned a crazy van Halen song over the weekend called Cathedral on my guitar. Check that out if you want. Its gorgeous. Who remembers that one?
Saxon such an important yet underrated band of the NWOBHM movement. Strangers in the Night, Power and the Glory, Warrior, Never Surrender, After Burner, Guardians of the Tomb, just so may great songs 22 albums and still going strong.
I have seen Saxon live more times than I can remember. Always rockin hard and deliver a great show. Hearing this track live with the crowd going wild just great !
I saw Saxon open for Iron Maiden back in 1983. Great band! Other great early Saxon albums are Denim And Leather, Wheels Of Steel, Power And The Glory. So glad you’re giving them a spin.
First time here! Thanks for the video! Saxon are huge here in San Antonio. Saw them in 2018 here. I recommend the song, The Eagle Has Landed. It's a song about the USA finally landing on the Moon. The song is a masterpiece! A really great Hard Rocker/ Metal song is This Town Knows How to Rock, a song about touring the good ol' U.S.A.
I remember seeing Saxon supporting Motorhead on their Bomber tour in, 1979 I think. Original Motorhead, all RIP now, but were very friendly and signed my concert programme. Happy days.
My favorite band. 🖤 Their entire discography is solid. The new stuff is on par...it says something about your talent when you don't get stagnant and stay relevant. 😉
Saxon were the very first rock band i saw...saw them at sheffield city hall in 1981 supporting the denim and leather album. i still have all my vinyl albums from this time...Saxon , wheels of steel , denim and leather , power and the glory , the eagle has landed. as well as lots of further albums on cd. True rockers.
Me is a Saxonfan since 1989, in the village I grow up this Song is a Song had to played on every Party since 34 years and every single time me plays air guitar on my knees,...... And sometimes we shiftet our Party to a 22. Nov. , just to bring respect to a President, we German never had
I was lucky enough to work with Saxon (long time friend and fan club secretary) to go to the Who's Ramport studios and hear this on the studio monitors. When it got to the gun shots I got SHIVERS over my body. It spoilt my listening experience forever!
So glad you did a Saxon reaction! A British metal band (contemporaries of Motorhead and Iron Maiden) that deserves much more attention IMO. Two of my favourites of theirs are: "And the Bands played on." "Power and the Glory". They are truly a Hidden Gem.
Saxon is oldschool "New wave of british heavy metal", or NWOBHM.. the english metal bands that broke out in the late 70s. They're in the same camp as Iron Maiden, Motorhead, and Judas Priest.. though they never got as big, they're 100% solid. Try: Wheels of Steel, Princess of the Night, Solid Ball of Rock!
Hello Metalheads worldwide, this is Lothar from Essen /Germany and this fantastic Song is a Part of my youth, for me is Saxon the Door opener into the World of Heavy Metal Rock, my absolutly Fave Band over 40 Years and the one and only Flagship of the NWOBHM. Sorry , Not Maiden.....the Strong arm and the wheels of Steel Hammer Albums are Milestones and Masterpieces in Metal Historie, and they have a few more of Neckbreaker Songs ... keep it heavy, keep it hard , Saxon rules ....🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
First vinyl I ever bought was Slayer Live Undead, W.A.S.P Live in the Raw, and Saxon Strong Arm of the Law. Still three of my favorite bands to this day.
Saxon are a great band, og brit metal from the 80's and they're still going strong, they just recorded a covers album of some of their fave rock and metal tunes. The live album The Eagle Has Landed is a true hidden gem of heavy metal, the last track "Fire in the Sky/Machine Gun" is certainly proto-thrash, plenty of great studio albums over the decades too.
great request by Lemmy , and great way to get introduce to the mighty Saxon. A band that has never received its proper due , and was a key component of the so-call " New Way of British heavy Metal" of the late 70's and early eighties ( together with Iron Maiden and supposedly Judas Priest which is really from much earlier), and right now in my humble opinion, together with Accept, is creating the best classic heavy metal.
Check out Marauder Saxon.. The Viking invasion of Britain... High octane metal... These lads from Sheffield UK were one of the founders of B.N.W.O.H.M. And still play live to this day..
Congratulations on discovering a classic hidden gem like Saxon. Here are just a few to consider... Wheels of Steel, 747 Strangers in the Night and Crusader. Enjoy! :)
The first 5 or 6 Saxon records are essential for any metal collection! Saxon came out that time when there was still a lot of overlap between hard rock and heavy metal as we know it today, so you will hear a lot of the bluesy leads and chord progressions of hard rock, but with the thick guitars, driving beat, and raw production of metal.
Cool song. 'The Eagle Has Landed' is a badass song. 'Power and the Glory', 'The Crusader Prelude/Crusader' & 'Rainbow Theme/Frozen Rainbow' too. Check out the song 'Permanence' by The Scintilla Project, same singer.
Try another lesser known Metal band from Canada called, Kick Axe. I would suggest their track titled, "On The Road To Rock". Saxon is definitely one of my favorite bands of all time. I would also like to suggest a Southern Rock band, Molly Hatchet and their song "Beatin' The Odds". That is one song that has been forgotten by radio.
Saxon were one of the early NWOBHM bands, along with Iron Maiden, Tygers of Pan Tang and Diamond Head. The song “Denim and Leather” is tribute to their original fans.
Should definitely check out "Denim and Leather" - it always brings back some great memories. The lyrics really speak to me - the music papers, the Friday Night Rock Show, the local record store, the leather jacket with denim cut-off, all the stuff in the song - that WAS me back in '79. Great days, great music but, damn, where did all that time go?
Song is about JFK assassination!!! Dark song, well executed!! Saxon one of the best to ever do it so was the mighty Philip Lynott & Thin Lizzy!!! Love your channel bro keep up the great work!!!🤘✌
One of the best bands from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. They should have been as big like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. Saw them live when they opened for Judas Priest. Great show.
Strong Arm of the Law is a classic. Album Power and the Glory was the first album I heard. Crusader is also an excellent album. I see others have recommended it.

Nobody ever reacts to Saxon, as you said such a dope song.
Yes, this song is a masterpiece!!!
New to Saxon? Oh boy. I see Crusader has already been requested. Princess of the Night is another killer tune.
Crusader !!!!
Power and the glory
And the bands played on
Battalions of steel
Bloodletter
When I watch you I see myself as a 16 year old in 1980, hearing this song on the radio. I ran to the record store that same week to buy the album.
Saxon, wheels of steel, power and the glory.
New Wave of British Heavy Metal legends. Check out Angel Witch, Demon, Satan, Tygers of Pan Tang, Grim Reaper, Raven, and Diamond Head too.
PURE GOLD. OFF TOP.
Don't forget Fist and Hellanbach !!
Diamond head and Raven..check out Samson with Bruce dickinson and Spirit with Jannek Gers from Maiden
The first time I heard saxon was in 2000 at shwung festival.... my reaction was the same... 22 years later I have all albums on vinyl and have seen them live 10 times! Every time I hear a Saxon song I get happy !
I got to have Dinner with Saxon, and invited on their tour with Poison, & Quiet Riot about 20 years ago. The coolest nicest guys. 😎🤘
That is too fuckn cool!

I appreciate that you just sat and absorbed it. You made me get back into an old one that cant be forgotten..its cool that you got into it like you did
I always come back and revisit this video. This is the song that got me into Saxon. They are so awesome!
I saw Saxon a few years ago. They opened for Judas Priest. Pretty cool band. Biff Byford still has a good voice. Some great rythyms. Denim and Leather's a good tune.
Great show. Saw them open for UFO too. Completely blew them away
I saw them on the same tour, Biff sounded great. Black Star Riders AKA (Thin Lizzy) opened the show.
My buddy opened up for them in 90, had beers with them and they’re great fellas!
This song is about the assassination of JFK. Another killer track off that album is 20,000 feet.
Pardon the pun
Strong arm of the law
Saxon sounds like a lot of beers. Hey man, I learned a crazy van Halen song over the weekend called Cathedral on my guitar. Check that out if you want. Its gorgeous. Who remembers that one?
saw this Band 1985 supporting The Stones at Manchester City’s then stadium Maine Rd. epic. and they were supporting the greatest rock band ever !
I saw Saxon in December 1980 ( my very first Gig ). Seen them eight times now. Over forty years later I'm still a big fan. G from UK...

Once this music hits your soul, it’s there forever. Keep rockin’ man 🤘🏻 glad you enjoyed it!
Saxon are from my hometown lmao. Even met them once. Still going strong, and they’re much heavier now.
Great. Underrated band. Great live show. One of the best classic Brit metal bands.
40 years later this song still rules!
Great reaction. My favourite Saxon song is 747 Strangers in the night. Incidently they were the first band I ever saw live in 1981

Motorcycle man is a killer Saxon tune
Wheels of Steel is their best album,747 strangers in the night, Wheels of Steel, Motorcycle Man you'll love all of them.
"Denim and Leather". The Rockers anthem.
I subbed after watching this saxon reaction..
The most. Grossly underated bands are THE ANGELS and SAXON
There incredible beyond belief
All my love goes to Saxon❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 since 1985!!! So much and GJ metal❤️
Saxon / W.A.S.P. / Judas Priest my top 3 Heavy Metal Band !
Solid Balls of Rock, 747 and Strong Arm of the Law are so good.
And Life to Rock!
Greetz from Germany!
Nothing fancy; just kicks. I really like the guitar work complementing each other with two different rhythms.
I guess he likes t,.brilliant guitar sound and his voice is excellent ,great production !!
Saxon...soooo under-rated compared to other bands! \m/
"Suzy Hold On" off The Power And The Glory album please.
I broke my Saxon albums out tonight. Listen to 747 Strangers in the night of the Wheels of Steel album.
Me is a Saxonfan since 1989, in the village I grow up this Song is a Song had to played on every Party since 34 years and every single time me plays air guitar on my knees,......

It is a good album ! Been listening to it on and off for 40 years.
So glad you did a Saxon reaction! A British metal band (contemporaries of Motorhead and Iron Maiden) that deserves much more attention IMO. Two of my favourites of theirs are: "And the Bands played on." "Power and the Glory". They are truly a Hidden Gem.

They're in the same camp as Iron Maiden, Motorhead, and Judas Priest.. though they never got as big, they're 100% solid. Try: Wheels of Steel, Princess of the Night, Solid Ball of Rock!
And yes, this album is probably their best effort ever!
The Eagle Has Landed is an awesome song by Saxon..but then again they have alot
Hello Metalheads worldwide, this is Lothar from Essen /Germany and this fantastic Song is a Part of my youth, for me is Saxon the Door opener into the World of Heavy Metal Rock, my absolutly Fave Band over 40 Years and the one and only Flagship of the NWOBHM. That Radio part was from WBAP Dallas. Chilling to say the least.

Now do Crusader and Lionheart!

They are rock solid. Many great songs - I saw them about a dozen times live and they never disappointed me. And yes, it is a classic album :)
This song is about what happened to President Kennedy in Dallas @ 1pm.
Mate a great reaction to a classic song. Seen Saxon live and they were superb. And yes it’s an excellent album.
Lemmy's Mole ... total respect. More, please
great request by Lemmy , and great way to get introduce to the mighty Saxon. Strong Arm of the Law is their best imo.
Saxon you could best describe, besides "solid", "cohesive". Denim and Leather and Strong Arm of the Law are wicked cool too. They are their own niche.
wow a Saxon reaction , one of the greats
one of best song ever!
My fav all-time Saxon track plus Eagle Has Landed, Made in Belfast and Crusader
Try another lesser known Metal band from Canada called, Kick Axe. I would suggest their track titled, "On The Road To Rock". Saxon is definitely one of my favorite bands of all time. I would also like to suggest a Southern Rock band, Molly Hatchet and their song "Beatin' The Odds". That is one song that has been forgotten by radio.
They were very BIG in my hometown San Antonio Texas and were given a lot of radio play by THE GODFATHER JOE ANTHONY 99.5 Kiss
Saxon were one of the early NWOBHM bands, along with Iron Maiden, Tygers of Pan Tang and Diamond Head. The song “Denim and Leather” is tribute to their original fans.
