If you want to hear an amazing guitar solo, I strongly recommend the rarely reacted to "Ram It Down". Do what other reactors don't! "Jawbreaker" is awesome too.
This is speed metal with a touch of death metal. The drummer plays beyond all the limits of speed metal. Beast! Best of all, the intro on the drums isn't in the same tempo as the rest of the song, and yet it's fucking good and it fits.
If I had to choose 1 song to represent what heavy metal is, it's this one. Absolutely flawless. 34 years on and it just keeps getting better with every listen \m/
Truth. Geddy's high period was pretty much done after the 6th album. By Hold Your Fire (Album12) his voice was quite different and lower. Rob's a marathon runner, vocally.
As old as this song is its still kicks major ass. It still elicits a strong emotion. Have heard 1000s of times and still get goosebumps when rob hits that last painkiller
The video itself is a masterpiece, dirt cheap to make but so well edited. Reminds me very much of The Prodigy “Firestarter”. The synchronised full body headbanging is epic.
According to Steel Panther's guitarist Satchel, Steel Panther's singer Michael Starr got vocal lessons from Rob Halford in the back of Rob's tour bus. As Satchel stated: "One night, I walked past Rob's tour bus and heard Michael scream in there." 😁
Briliant song from Judas Priest..pure metal..perfekt album for ending 80s...did feel something in your body..something,,electric,,when guitar riffs go...must be...
Judas Priest is so much more than a metal band.......When they started they were very blue's based.......great music, very different, but very Priest. Then they blended into hard rock, inventing Heavy Metal, went to speed metal or thrash, with Painkiller, Freewheel Burning....stuff like that.....now just good hard heavy metal. They are getting old now, the two original guitarist are gone, but they still rock live.....not the same as before.....but still better than most.
@@holdtightadele8017 Mixed up KK. Thanks. Been listening and enjoying them forever. 60 now , and still crankin' to pissing the neighborhood off levels.
Check out Rob Halford and Scott Travis in Fight. Great songs like Contortion, Nailed To The Gun and Into The Pit. They had Russ Parrish on guitar. He's also known as Satchel in Steel Panther.
Judas Priest's entire career has been songs about powerful, monolithic & destructive characters and forces... 'Painkiller' came out in 1990 and was an exclamation point in Priest's career when critics were calling them 'old news' and didn't think they were capable of this level of speed, intensity and anger... It was also released in the aftermath of a trial in Nevada where the band was sued in court of allegedly inspiring a grisly double s.ui.cide pact by inserting a 'subliminal' message into a 1978 cover song 'Better by you, better than me'... After an arduous trial, Judas Priest was acquitted of any wrongdoing - the alleged 'subliminal' message was pure coincidence.
A couple other 80's rock recommendations: Living Colour's Cult of Personality (hear Vern Reid shred) or Suicidal Tendencies - You Can't Bring Me Down (hear Rocky George shred).
I'm 61and.all the band's and concerts I seen in the 80s are the Best compared too now. Metal music was so much better than now. Same with Megadeth or Matalica. Metal Band's now day's need too learn from the old Metal Band's.
It's a pretty cool song... I think they were just trying to show up the thrash metal guys. I personally prefer their '70s stuff. Victim of Changes, Dissident Agressor, Sinner, Exciter, Green Manalishi, The Ripper, Better By You Better Than Me, Beyond The Realms of Death, Diamonds and Rust, etc. _British Steel_ and _Screaming for Vengeance_ are also great albums. Any song that is on the album _Unleashed in the East,_ is better than the studio version.
Yet there is no other Judas Priest reaction like half of a year, sadly. I do hope you will come back to our master Judas, giving you a song that has everything in it, LIVE! God bless us all ua-cam.com/video/J4d5sMg8eCE/v-deo.html
This is the one!! I've listened to this song so many times during the last 34 years at least once a month. BUT!!! I recently came across a cover version played by Lovebites and I have to say -- The Priests have got a very capable competitor for exactly this song. Try it out on ua-cam.com/video/9_VSfZhUx2U/v-deo.html. Unfortunately no one has found a live performance yet. It's taken from the album "In The Beginning - The Best Of 2017-2021" and was released in 2021. #lovebites #judapriest #painkiller
@@JonMallek: please admit it. The song isn’t that good - it’s just fast extreme and heavy. .it was fun when it came out and mtv played it. It was fun. Maybe a lot of fun. It was a statement, but it’s not a very good song and the vocals verge in being horrible. It’s true Rob isn’t shy here!
You are definitely NOT J.P. fans! If you knew anything about J.P. you would know there are far more complex & meaningful songs than this. If you knew anything about Judas Priest, you would know that the quintessential Priest album is "Sad wings of Destiny". Stop tormenting the True Priest fans and move on to something else.
I love the song "Victim of Changes" myself. This is Alannas first time hearing the song and Judas Priest and we did a poll for it. And the title is a question...not a statement. Lol Oh boy you sound like a spoiled little boy that didn't get his bumb spanked enough for being dumb. If you are a true J.P. fan...I am sorry that your their "spokesperson". Your doing a horrible job. Good luck with being a tool 🔧

One of the best Judas Priest songs before K.K.Downing left the band. The musicianship is amazing considering that Judas Priest formed in the late 1960s.
What Judas Priest song should we do next?! I think she liked it... 😂
If you want to hear an amazing guitar solo, I strongly recommend the rarely reacted to "Ram It Down". Do what other reactors don't! "Jawbreaker" is awesome too.
between the hammer and the anvil
Beyond The Realms Of Death...this one's very "underreacted to", being the great song it is
Victim of Changes.
Eat Me Alive its on pmrc filthy 15, a must song
Music magazines in 1990: Heavy Metal is dead!

All album is that.
A truly masterpiece.
Usually you have this powerful voice on your first two or three albums, not on their 12th. The metal god.
Truth. Geddy's high period was pretty much done after the 6th album. By Hold Your Fire (Album12) his voice was quite different and lower.

JUDAS PRIEST IS NOT ONE OF HEAVY METAL BAND , IS HEAVY METAL..🤘🇮🇹
PRIEST yea.!!🤘🏻

JUDAS FREAKING PRIEST 🤘🤘🤘🤘

I saw them in concert last week and 72 year old Rob was AMAZING!
The Mighty Priest 🤘🤘🤘
Its like a machinegun hits you when that intro comes on.
Thx for your reaction to this song I've been waiting for it! Look forward to what you choose next
Over 50 yrs of HEAVY METAL.. Pure Plizz
March 2024 Judas Priest release their 19th studio album - Invincible Shield. The song The serpent and the king! A must listen.
This song and Night Crawler are the definition of Heavy Metal imo
Screaming for Vengeance and You Got Another Thing Coming, Nightcrawler are all great
Judas Priest’s song Screaming for Vengeance is the ultimate metal song.
It is everything metal wrapped into one.
According to Steel Panther's guitarist Satchel, Steel Panther's singer Michael Starr got vocal lessons from Rob Halford in the back of Rob's tour bus. As Satchel stated: "One night, I walked past Rob's tour bus and heard Michael scream in there." 😁
Painkiller is a Biblia of heavy Metal
My first show ever was the Rust in Peace/Painkiller tour, Megadeth and Judas Priest. Unreal night hearing Holy Wars, Tornado of Souls and Painkiller
Exciter,Victim of Changes,Sinner,Freewheel Burning. There’s so many great songs!!
Honestly, this entire album is great!
There is metal,,,,and then there is 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻JUDAS PRIEST🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Lovebites have made the best cover of this song, worth listening to. 👍 to you and the channel.
Greeting from Denmark ❤
I concur. They killed it.
LOVEBITES nailed it.
Best ever.
Late 70s till present.
JP still melting your face.
I love how as he's not quite through with the solo, the rest of the song starts to pick back up.
This is the core of planet metal. Chromium-plated boiling metal from the birthplace of metal, England's West Midlands. Also, metal. 🤘
God bless Birmingham, England. The city that both birthed heavy metal and perfected it.

God's of metal!
Try the Live Vengeance 82 version of Desert Plains.....that voice live🙀🤘👍
Starts hittin' you with a sledgehammer and finishes hitting you harder.Tipton and Faulkner are the dynamic duo. The whole band is always tight.
Tipton and Downing here my friend, Richie Faulkner didn’t join JP till 2011👍🏼👊🏼
Tipton and Downing you mean. Faulkner would have been a teen when this song was recorded😂

if someone asks: "What is Heavy Metal ?" Show them this... no more answer should be needed....
Love this song. Lovebites does a killer cover of this song, or really more like a tribute.
Judas FUCKIN Priest !
Pure metal !
Good next pic The sentinel live Dallas show !
Cheers from Australia 😈🤘
6:37 then do "Beyond The Realms Of Death", by the same band
You have any ideas of guitar solos? And drum solos? In Aggada davida!
Yes, yes it is.
Priest = Metal
Judas Priest's Painkiller is considered by many (even though some may disagree) as the first modern hardcore metal song.
Judas Priest's entire career has been songs about powerful, monolithic & destructive characters and forces... 'Painkiller' came out in 1990 and was an exclamation point in Priest's career when critics were calling them 'old news' and didn't think they were capable of this level of speed, intensity and anger... Ram It down, Heavy Metal and Jonny Be Good!
My favorite is A touch of evil. Also one of my favorite songs in general. :)
Greatest Metal Hymn ever wrote! Tipton is a GENIUS!
Now listen to Dreamer Deceiver / Deceiver from Sad Wings of Destiny.
Absolutely one of Priests best! When you get the chance, take a listen to "Ram it down".
You have to check out the LOVEBITES cover of Painkiller

Yeah, if someone doesn't know what metal is, you play them this, and they understand.
Yes 🤘🏼
Now you should totally do a reaction to the spoof Nanowar of Steel did for this song, callde "Heavy Metal Kibbles" Love your reactions! Have fun!
You know the Lovebites, so hear please their cover of this song. It's only the audio version but incredible, for me best the original!
I think JP was the first metal band. Black Sabbath opened the door for heavy metal, and Judas Priest stepped through.
It's apex 80's thrash. Good 80's thrash makes it sound like there's a Fenris wolf trying to chew it's way through the limiter / compressor.
It's a 45year old journey. Enjoy
50
It is, without a doubt. But as someone said somewhere: it is just one of the best 400 JP songs. :)

Young adults. You missed the 80's and 90's seeing priest live. I feel sorry for you. Same with Iron Maiden in the early 80's and 90's.
Start from the beginning, 1974.
NOTHING can top thi since 1991...the epiphany of Heavy Metal is all about !
For a different note and a recent one, try out Trial by Fire.
Judas Priest don’t have the traditional guitar setup of a lead player and rhythm player. Both Tipton and Downing take turns to play leads.
Do hell patrol next
