My son and I just did this on a 2013 Santa Fe- tedious, but we got it done and saved a LOT of money. This is a good time to replace the PCV valve as you will have easy access, it may help with unexplained high oil consumption.
Great video. I like that you speed up the frame rate during the routine loosening and tightening of fasteners so as not to waste time, while at the same time, showing all of the steps. I have been using the local Hyundai dealership for pretty well all of the service on my wife's 2014 Santa Fe XL as they have generally been quite reasonable with the pricing. When I took it in recently for a "service 2" at about 120,000 km (about 75,000 miles), they recommended the spark plug change at a cost of $Cdn 550.00. I questioned the service manager on this and was told that the labour is a big component on this job. I said that I will decline this service for the time being, as the car runs perfectly and gets good gas mileage. Your video helped me understand what is involved and what questions I should ask if/when getting this work done in the future. Given that these are GDI engines, it might be the case that the dealer is including a proper cleaning of the intake manifold as well as replacement of the intake gaskets. If the dealer's price includes an intake cleaning, maybe it is worth the cost. If not, I will do the plug change myself.
Hey man, this is probably one of the greatest videos I've seen easily look at for the model car. Easy to follow. One thing I wanted to ask you, was whether you just only did the top bolt on the back of the bracket that holds on to the top part of the mount cover cuz it seems like you were able to get to it pretty easily. Once you have that angle tool to do it In addition, it looks like you just basically reverse install the air stuff and so as a non-car person it kind of looks intimidating but it looks like it's easily done
Hi, it's great tutorial video 🙏. But can you please share a PDF copy link of all the information on the papers that you have, because that's will be very helpful for everyone who wants to do a DIY of their Santa Fe. I hope you respond on this, that's will be really appreciate it. Thank you. Please keep do more video tutorials.
I replaced the gasket on mine, but in early 2024 it was a little hard to find. Also, some online sites steer you to the wrong gasket-compare before ordering!
@@jfGarage4k thank you very much.. I ended up using my brain, looking it up with the supercomputer in my hand, then calling the dealership with the same device.. amazing world, huh? Thanks
Great step by step guide video with good placement of camera. Thank you so much!
Thanks champ, Doing work and recording at the same time is tough and time drags, i like the good feedback thank you

Wheres the PCV valve located?
My guess would be located on the Valve cover
Are you able to reach the o2 sensor b1s1 better with the intake manifold off, or would you do it from below?
Please can you tell me where to found torque spec ?
Plugs Torque Spec on this are 10-18 Lb-Ft
In maintainance manual.
I noticed you didn’t change the Plenum Chamber Gasket rings while you had it open.. should you had changed them..?!
This was a Sunday parts store was all close. Yes, you must change the intake manifold gasket brand new. I endup replacing the garage the next day
Is it bad if I don't replace the gasket??

Hey did you get it done?
Thank you very much. It really helped me out.
Glad to hear that!
How much for that labor ??
It was only $120 for the labor. With all the work and setting up the camera & lights real time tooked me 3.5 hours
I just used your video to change my spark plugs. But now my car smokes everytime I start it. Did I do something wrong???
The engine light on? The smoke color Black (rich On fuel) or White ( Smell Sweet)
these enginers find every way but to make things easy
Can you tell me what the gap spec is for these plugs? Guess I’m one of those old guys you mentioned
OE gaps on Santafe 0.044

Awesome good work, sorry for late reply
Any reason you did not replace the manifold gasket?
This was taken on Sunday at 7pm, Parts Store is close at this time

Thanks for the reply. I would of thought that disconnecting the tb would of triggered the ecu to throw a code and force an idle relearn
Not needed.
No Vacuum leaks or engine light CEL at all on the Test drive
Great video thank you
How many miles on this engine?
I believe this have 150,525 km on it
