Hey, we are back at my 3-in-1 hole plum planting. This is a burgundy plum and it’s ready to eat. But I’m also doing a bit of summer pruning at the same time. But I tell you what, we’re going to taste this burgundy plum because it is sensational. Look at all that wonderful fruit set in here this season. Tremendous! Burgundy plum has always been one of my favorites, probably because it does so many cool things. Not only is it a great early- to mid-season plum, at the same time it has the beautiful, wonderful red flesh, and it’s a great pollinator for all my favorite varieties of pluots. So let’s take a look and see if we can find one that’s just ready to eat. I’m going to feel around here and see. Everything is nice and red and dark right now. It’s still pretty firm so burgundy plum can last on the tree for a long, long time. Oh my God, there’s one right there. That is wonderful. Let’s take that one right there. Look at that beautiful deep dark red plum. Isn’t that gorgeous? Really pretty. But I’ll tell you what, where the treat is, is when you take and split it open. It’s this deep, dark juicy red flesh. Burgundy is just an incredibly special plum. So let’s see how does it taste? This is an early bite I’m taking - the fruit’s going to be ripe for another 2 to 3 weeks. You know what? The skin is still just a little bit tart, but the flesh is so sweet and has this wonderful, almost wine-like aftertaste that it leaves in the back of your palate. Incredible flavor, but I don’t know if you want to get any of this on you clothes. I’m lucky I’m wearing a red shirt today because chances are I won’t have problems with stains. There’s not much that beats a burgundy plum for that early- to mid-season variety of fruit. This is about as good as it gets. I want you to leave me alone now cause I want to eat the rest of my plum. That’s real good.

Super!!!
Wow Fantastic
Superb🥰🥰👌
Thank you sir
So good sir
maybe this with my Flavor King :)
I have 15 different type of plums & pluots in my yard. Burgundy plum ranks #1 ties with Flavor King pluot. Here is my tip, never ever get these guys on citation rootstock, they are SLOW grower. Go for a Myro-29C if you can find it.
PS you will still get a semi-dwarf trees as opposed to dwarf. Another pluot variety that does best on Myro29C is flavor grenade however it's taste is not as good as Flavor King or Burgundy.
Just picked up a Burgandy, Santa rosa, Dapple dandy, emerald drop. I didn’t really want a Santa rosa but I needed a pollinator for the emerald. I read the Burgandy would only polinate the dapple dandy.
Great! Thank you! My plums are yellow inside and hard to bite.No juice!
