Am glad there raising awareness for Down syndrome but it sucks because there’s a lack of people on the autism spectrum and there’s not a lot of toys for girls who have autism like me and when there is people treat us like crap because we don’t have birth defects like others do

Barbie Fashionistas have done A LOT to provide more diverse and inclusive dolls at an accessible price point so all kids have a chance to see a barbie with a prosthetic like theirs, with skin tone like theirs, with hearing aids like theirs, and now a doll with downs syndrome for all the little kids who have it who've never seen a doll like them. That's a really cute doll though, that's really cool.
As a critical doll point of view though, I wish it was on a made-to-move body so it had all the joints. I know all regular Fashionista dolls only have the five points of articulation, but I wish this one had all of the joints because it's so unique and special, and I wish it could offer the full range of movement. Is the body type the same as any other Barbie dolls? They certainly made it sound special to this doll. So like, can the head be swapped with a made-to-move body that shares the same body type? My guess is no sadly.
However, I do think she is really cute, and her head sculpt is really nice. It's also a very pretty dress. She is a fashionista after all!

OMG 😭I'm crying - this is the inclusion the world needs. People with Down's Syndrome have so much to offer society and so many of them are ruthlessly slaughtered in the womb. Our world suffers the loss of so much beauty when a child with Down's Syndrome is aborted.

They actually do! Previous Barbies and Kens in the line have had prosthetic limbs, some come with wheelchairs, and there's been at least one with hearing aids. This is in addition to ones being bald, having vitiligo, being super freckly, smaller busted, curvy, petite, etc.

    • @palesgensler3099
