I have been fighting to get my insurance to cover. They keep denying. I am pre diabetic and over weight and have high cholesterol and have been on metformin (made me super sick).
My doctor put me on mounjaro and i have had to pay out of pocket for 7 months. Now we're trying to get them to approve it again. Wish me luck.
I'm nervous about Ozempic because you actually have to stick the needle in. Mounjaro injects it by pushing the button. I don't handle needles very well.

What diagnosis code did they use

For Wegovy, my insurance did not ask for a diagnosis code. The prior auth asked for my BMI, weight related medical conditions, and previous weight loss efforts.

    Try a compounding pharmacy.

WOW exactly the same thing happen to me. I’m prediabetic ozempic was approved immediately with previous insurance , however my employer changed insurance and they won’t approve unless you’re type 2 diabetic. Hopefully they cover Wegovy 🤞🏽🤞🏽
