VW hasn't missed the past 4 generations. Ever since the 20vT you can spot a GTI of that generation pulling lengths on other cars. Can't wait for the MK8, good runs my guy!

@Bryce Czirr my dude a stage 2 mk7r with apr tune, down pipe, intake and cat back is putting more power than 330hp that the mk8r is claiming. The mk8 will definitely kick ass once retuned no doubt but not stock against a stage 2 mk7r

MK7 GTIs with over 500 to the tire = can walk any car you had in this video. Turbo MQB cars have a great torque curve and under 3000 lbs. weight means they are hard to beat from a roll. Most late model Mustangs, Chargers, Camaros are too heavy. Pigs can fly, but they need 1000+ hp to do it ;)

@Bryce Czirr You definitely don’t need to spend 20k to push over 400hp in a GTI/R. Big Turbo 3K, tune 1K, Intercooler $600, E30/E85 $500-1k. All on the stock block. Now once you start reaching 500hp, then I would consider a built engine. Which would be 5-8k.

@Bryce Czirr you can push 450 for 6k. Tpc28 turbo, everything to run e85, a intercooler and a tune. Plus gti has a weight advantage so it doesn't even have to push 400 to beat a 400hp sti.
Just bolt on E85, lol. Love it! (*IS38 side note) I'm doing that with my Vortex XL when somebody wants to run. "Bolt-on on 93, lets do it." 🤣

The 6speed DSG on my tuned GTI Clubsport mk7 you dont wana mess with. Thinking getting it TCU tuned by Racingline or similar in the future.. I raced a 2017 Civic Type-R and not even him could seem to keep up.. Most likely coz manual. I also tried smoke a Tesla and old Audi R8 2009, but idonu whats wrong with these guys. The only one beating me so far was a Custom real hardcore built old Volvo 740... Haha 😄 But was also the coolest race i had before i went Stage 1 👍
@@tredfxman the DSG gear shifts are so fast that a 6MT owner has to have about 50extra horsepower to stand a chance. However I know a lot of dudes with with driver mod, and the DSG really doesn’t make a difference. I had the option to get a DSG mk5 but it was already modded my 6MT was bone stock one owner. Kinda wish I went DSG just for daily drivability. But in the backroads especially living in Oregon I couldn’t live without a manual.

Cool how far these cars have come. I remember my old VR6 dynoed stock at 152 hp lol. I raced one of these recent APR GTi's in my Viper (2000 GTS) and it was neck and neck, pretty awesome! You have any problems with this thing? Nice amount of pulls in a single night

Had a 93 vr6 SLC Corrado and a 90 g60 Corrado with a Bahn Brenner (lysholm) SC..... the g60 was A LOT faster than the vr6, vr6 280+whp and g60 probably 340+whp.
Looking up LYSHOLM CORRADO on yt and the blue one that comes up first is the same color and sound as my car, you could hear my g60 from a half mile away or more.

The scene y’all have in Cali seems much more fair and fun compared to what we have in Houston. Everything in Houston is so fucking fast I can’t even try to race with my own 6spd GTI (mk6) which is prob only 300-350whp.
A lot of the cars in this video probably would’ve gapped me, but my god it would’ve been fun to race them.

Your vw gti is literally oem plus+ and gaps everything of worth. Crazy it makes 400 on stock block, heads, cams and drivetrain and puts it down day in and day out.

I got a CTS 67 millimeter dual ball bearing Turbo with a Unitronic stage 3 ECU & DSG Tune. HPA Big brake kit & I am running Water/Meth kit & a APR intercooler & CTS Charge pipe for the water/meth & a Spulen discharge pipe. Never been on the dyno, but CTS claims that with the Turbo & software the car will make at least 403hp.
That 5.0 gonna sell his car 😂

Exhaust, tune, tires and stay on top of maintenance. Good summer tires as your budget allows.
I’ve owned GTI’s and a couple of GLI’s going back to the MK2, currently have a DSG MK7 IS38 tuned on Eurodyne for pump 93...not gonna lie, I kinda miss my dashboard lighting up like a Christmas tree every few months. Anybody else? VR6 MK4 was legendary in that regard.

But I'm more than certain he'll take you. Having raced my buddy's FBO F82. I take the jump until about 90 (from a 60 roll), then he'll come screaming past. You might get a little extra leway since you're E70 vs my pump. But you'll need a hybrid to play with a tuned S55.
