That reset track is a great idea. I’ve been trying to figure out if sending gates with Micro timing/ shuffle will make a sequencer output notes with Micro timing?
So... you can get notes/gates to follow swing for sure... but I'd use those for trigger a sound. You wouldn't want to swing the clock/reset, as that'd make the euro rack gear go wonky for sure :D
Man, I'm trying to get this to work with my Live II to my Keystep Pro "Sync In" and it's really hard to get it to not have some sort of slight midi drift.
What’s the purpose of the Pamela’s New Workout? Couldn’t you create sets of CV Clock and CV Reset programs to create four different clocks without PNW?
I *think* this was a video I recorded in response to a question about how to do it... not necessarily if it made sense. Been a while though. You absolutely can do that work without PNW on the MPC, though that might also eat into how many available CV outputs you can use... so I suppose it mostly depends on personal taste and use cases.
Hi, is it possible to send cv and gate at the same time with this splitter? Let’s say, I use this splitter on the 1/5 output plug from the live 2. And i want to sent a gate out on 1 and cv on 5, is this possible?
@@hosjmanne Until you run out of CV outs... the 8 are nice... and I usually go with 1) clock gate 2) 4 bar reset gate 3) kick pattern gate 4) snare pattern gate 5) hat pattern gate 6) bass pattern gate 7) bass note cv 8) base note volume cv From there I can usually use euro rack modules to transform the cvs into interesting things that are clocked, gated by different drum patterns, be or follow the bass note...
@@NearTao I sold a lot of modules. I now only use a 6u 84hp rack. Gone use 1 plug for clock that goes to a multi in the rack. The other 3 will be used to send gate and cv to Plonk and 2 Vco’s. So for my Eurorack it’s enough for now. I also use a external midi splitter that’s connected to the mpc for my other external synths. For bar reset and auto start and stop etc. i just use the ableton link option
@@hosjmanne Awesome! I have around 90'ish videos from a few years back when I was recording my MPC Live and a make noise case of modules for making live music doing a track a day. A ton of fun, you're going to love it (the setup, not my videos lol)!
you totally fixed some issues i was having (syncing modular ) thank you so much !
Glad I could help!
Thank you! Exactly what I needed.

Fantastic guide - thanks so much :)
Glad it was helpful!

is it possible to move a midi track from one position to another? example: if I have a synth on track 6, can I move it to 2?
Move no, but you can go to the Pencil tool on the MPC and copy the track from track 6 to track 2, and then delete track 6.

Just getting back from vacation and checking back on comments. Did you manage to find a fix? Are you getting drift beyond the clock pulse?

It is possible. With the splitter, as you suggest, you can send CV out CV1, and Gate out CV5 for example.
@@NearTao great! That will save me some money for now. No midi to cv module needed 👌🏻
