I read yours the other day and it definitely stood out so I have to thank you for taking the time and asking these amazing questions. Nothing but love and blessings to you 🙏🏽🙏🏽
This is deep, thank you so much for taking the time and sharing this with me and I’m glad it’s clicking and making sense little by little. I know the frustration could be a bit crazy at times but I love the fact that you held onto it. Know that I’m here and any questions you have a more than happy to help out in anyway that I can. Nothing but love and blessings to you brother
I can definitely feel the passion. Real talk, when I’m in a beat block, I can always count on watching your videos to get me back on track and get inspired. Keep up the good content Malo! Blessings
Hello man, I'm from Brazil, and here, there aren't people explain about akai mpc. so, I did follow you to see and learn more about it. and I'd like to give the congratilations for you for all the videos about akai mpc live who you do. it's help me a lot!! thanks thanks thanks
Definitely catching a vibe on this! 🔥 Using sends/returns not only saves using a precious insert slot, but with some delicate balancing you get the full effect without sacrificing tone. Experimenting with stuff like this can elevate an already good beat, and fun to do. I think you did a great job of showing the process 👍
Hey brother, this really means a lot and thank you so much for taking the time to share this input. The possibilities seem endless at this point and creativity is the limit which is awesome. Much love and blessings to you brother 🙏🏽
Hi Malo , another excellent MPC video. I just completed a degree in Sound Engineering & Music Production ~ I love signal flow ~ once you start using the MPC as a plugin or controller for Logic with Plugins {if not using native MOPC plugins}...The possibilities = that of a multimillion £ studio but in software form ~~ The best era for Music Tech..
Man, this is powerful and you’re 100 with that theory when it comes down to understanding signal flow and combining your knowledge with your creativity. This is literally a never ending process where creativity is a limit. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
My man. Had my mpc live for 4 years, came back to production after diving through mixing for a couple years. Ive been bangin my head on how this shit was routed for a month lol.
As always, content 🔥. Thanks for the knowledge Malo, had to watch it a few times since I’ve never attempted this. Looking forward to the MPC 2.11 June 23rd update.
Hey brother, I’m glad this is helpful and please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions in regards this topic I’m more than happy to help out in anyway I can. Nothing but love and blessings to you brother.
Thanks for your video. It's a real tip you gave us with this use of send and return. And so, you can do both, have an effect on your progam, or your pad, and after, add a send/return effect. VEry useful. Thanks a lot for your video.
been on this for years, nice to see this catching on drum machines and synths into a fender twin with the spring reverb, recorded with a 57 and fathead ,mix back into the clean signal to taste examples on spotify as blunted circuit
Sends and return’s/ Sub mixes when used correctly are what make the MPC the MPC… imo. I’ve always mixed with auxiliary tracks so that’s wussup. Thanks man.
Man I feel you on the energy brother, I'm itching to create music. Going through some health issues with my eyes where I can't use the MPC or other electronics for long. I'm enjoying the process through you, salute

Hey Lamont, I appreciate you dropping by and taking the time to share this with me. I’m glad that these videos resonate with you as well. Nothing but love and blessings to you brother
Thank you again for the great tips, sir🙏 The way you use reverb on sends is very inspirative. I will try that today. Btw. I always put EQ with cut off some high and low frequences right after reverb on sends. It sounds briliant and more realistic for sampled beats to me. And i cant wait for the new upgrade. Amp and vinyl sim sounds very nice🙂 Have a nice day,Malo and keep create🙌

This really means a lot brother, thank you so much for taking the time out of your day and sharing this input. I’ll definitely be putting out Content in regards this topic. Much love and blessings to you
Coming from the Dub perspective, send and returns is where it's at! It's the fun part for me. I only wish Akai would allow automation on these parts so I could record my effects on the fly.
Hey brother, I’m so glad you dropped by and shared this input as I never really thought about automating those sens and returns. I could really see the use and being able to ride those faders while performing. Thank you brother, I appreciate his input.
If you send the reverb to all all of your drums/drumgroup, I' d use an EQ with an high-pass filter after the reverb to leave the kicks/bass frequencies unafected by the reverb. With reverb on them, the kicks loose punch.
Hey brother, this is awesome and thank you so much for sharing this valuable input. That totally makes sense in order for us to control those low end frequencies. Much love to you and thank you for dropping by with this valuable information. 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Loving your content, has been a real inspiration. Quick question, is it advisable to have the level of the return no higher than 0db, or is it ok to crank it right up and then just dial in a little bit to the original signal via the send ?
This is such a great question and I’m glad you brought this up. The difference between these two will be that when you’re putting the effects on the direct signal it’s been applied to your signal 100% strength versus if you put it on a return you’re able to have more flexibility on how much signal you’re sending to that affects also you could send different tracks to that same affect and how much signal you’re sending today affects so you do not need to put it on every single track.
Dope! Have you covered the process of exporting out your MPC project with Sends/Returns? I ask because I have had issues with exporting my project with sends/returns from the MPC into Logic in particular and most of the time my send effects do not show up on the Logic end.
Hey brother, thank you for dropping by and asking this question. I will definitely look into this and get back to you very soon since I have seen some minor changes with the export settings with 2.11. I’ll be looking into this later on tonight and get back to you tomorrow. 🙏🏽
Yeah, it doesn’t work. Not necessarily an issue since it would take some routing to get a stem with send/return in a daw. Would probably end up as a separate track alongside your main track that’s sending audio and the mix between the 2 would be the faders. I’m sure it’s doable with mpc’s export stem function and hopefully they implemented it in 2.11 but I doubt it. Been wanting submix tracks exported for a while.
Thank you brother appreciate you taking the time, you could have VST‘s in standalone but they have to be VST‘s from akai, however in the software version you could install third party plug-ins but that’s only when you’re using the software on the computer
so, i'd like to ask you about one thing: It's possible put a turntable and turn on the delay at send or return? to listen some effects while i'm listening my vinil records?? do you know how can I do it? thank you so much...
I generally like your video but I'd love a bit more engineering expertise.. You should never change the send volume after dialing in the return track, because every plugin in the return will act differently depending on the input level. If you make a sound for parallel, you should change the level of the return track, not whats going into the return track.
