You'd think that since card format (especially for SD cards) has been an issue for about 20 years that we could blame Roland... but honestly I feel like it is as much the SD card manufacturers who are to blame, along with licenses for the code from the software vendors who sell the libraries. I don't think Roland is "not to blame" in any of this... but just saying it is a far more complicated issue, and why a lot of us just say "hey I got xyz to work" because there are *so* many variants of SD cards out there, then passable clones, fake clones, literally cheap broken cards and... it does just get crazy. Anyways... it's hard to triage the exact issues without seeing everything, but I did think the question was worth trying to address as I figured that there may be people out there who actually never even noticed the LOCK on the SD card. For me personally, I've been using a SanDisk Extreme Pro 32GB in my 404 mk2. I've probably had it forever though based on how worn the sticker is, and if you asked me how I formatted it... I could only guess. I'm on the Mac and usually use the command line to type out specifically what I believe needs to be done for format parameters because it can be so goofy. ​@NearTao i think you may be right, it's a little unfair to blame roland but I do think they lacked foresight to be in aline with current standards. But yes, sd cards aren't particularly great, but better than the old smart media I still use on the RS7000. Good topic to look at.

@@Complexautist The Dirtywave M8 probably has the best approach... let you know what specific cards work best, and well... I think they list about four or five cards... the rest are in the "if it works, awesome" space or "yeah we warned you" space...

Nah nothing new, special, or fancy... it's just my iPhone for the overhead camera still, and I just stretched out the window in OBS to get it to zoom in. Happy to take some time to document my setup if you want to know what I'm doing in general for audio/video. It's not that fancy, but I have learned a few tricks over the years to keep my hobby setup going. If I was trying to make something professional I'd definitely upgrade some of the gear I've got, but I'm just happy helping people out. Been sending people your way... excited to see your channel grow! In the "irrelevant internet points" category I'd love to see you hit 5k subs before I do. I've got a head start but you've got some great velocity.

I know you've got all this. OP-XY: * Go into the sampler mode, and select USB-C as the input P-6: Enter the menu (SHIFT + OCT+) Select USB.B (USB Bus) and set it to BUS A Exit the menu Enter the mixer (SHIFT + A) Set Bus A Level to 0 (SHIFT + PITCH knob)

It somewhat depends *how* you chop (on time, at transients, etc...) but you can certainly chop up a sample and then move away from the bpm, especially if you break up the rhythmic character of a sample... add some reverb and it can smooth out some of the more extreme chops...

*so*... the way UA-cam manages videos is kind of a pain... they *really* want me to setup a "members" category to convince people to pay to see early videos... which conflicts with how I'm recording stuff...
