"He's good at rhetoric." Isn't rhetoric all what Hasan does? He's a bad journalist, he can't take criticism, and just generally cringy. He's a perpetual teenager.
He's also a self admitted Propagandist. He is nothing more than a talking head.
Rhetorical skill? He doesn't have any grasp of it; he's often flustered in debates and when he's cornered he'll default to buzzwords.
Yeah, both are not much about journalism. But, in this particular instance, Destiny did nothing about criticizing the content (what little there was) and just used ad hominems, personal abuse, and engaged in a puerile tantrum. It was as if he were jealous. I say "as if," because it that was the tone. So, yeah, it was just rhetoric (empty expression without serious content). Is Hasan also about rhetoric? That could be true for the most part, but from what I've seen of debates with Destiny, he seems indulges in too much popular fallacious reasoning, ( e.g.: what-aboutism, ad hominem, red herrings etc.) and bad faith. He'll use anything to avoid conceding or dealing seriously with the substance.
If Hasan was trollling it would actually be pretty funny but he's just coping or else he would man up and debate Nebraska Steve

I don't like hasan (i know, silly I have to say that to have a reasonable conversation with you) but he has every right to respond to destiny's criticism etc. As you said he tried acting like the bigger person and completely dissociated from destiny for a long time. Can you show me where hasan speaks of destiny 24/7? Thats just blatantly not true and you know it. You can show 1-2min clips of hasan mentioning destiny. Because he's protected online when he does it now. There's no neutral ground like LSF anymore where people who aren't on either side might see what a goon Hasan is. He was only doing that so that it wouldn't create more opportunities for people to clap back on him but he doesn't have to worry about that now.

I think it is totally fair and even logical for Hasan to respond to Destiny's comments about him. The thing is that he doesn't generally do that though.
He talks ABOUT Destiny, sure. But I can't think of a lot of clips where Hasan is actually responding to any criticism by Destiny as in defending his *position* (be it about political or personal stuff). He always comes out swinging a moral argument about how Destiny is either a racist, a bigot, a failed father/husband etc usually accompanied by a lie about Destiny as a person or - at best - twisting something Destiny said/did into sth he clearly didn't say or mean.
Half the time I don't agree with Destiny myself. But I don't have to create a strawman or caricature of him to challenge what he says. Hasan knows better and he still choses to lie, shadow box and talk about Destiny in bad faith. Sure, Destiny is petty for bringing up every dumb thing Hasan does or says but at least he talks about what Hasan *actually* does and says in contrast to what Hasan does for the most part.
