wow. this script was brilliant. I love how you tied in your newgrounds animations into the animation style of cuphead. such a great way to portray the hard work animators go through in order to make these types of games!
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand the highly regarded "Great Yoshi Migration". The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Herpetology most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Yoshi’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike the exceptional "Great Yoshi Migration" truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Yoshi’s existential catchphrase “Yoshi~!,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dunkey’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.
Not really in an interview the developer said when he was a child it was rare of people completing a game while the modern games can be completed by anyone, so he wanted the new generation to experience that.
Real talk Dunkey, thanks for showing us your old vids. It really shows how far you've come as a creator and gives hope to the rest of us. Keep up the good work Dunko
It also shows that just because you cant be what you wanted to be originally, the skills you get can still help you get into something else you can enjoy. Dunks may not be animating but I bet it helped build his editing he uses now.

Strangely enough, this video came at a really good time. I'm a writer, and lately I've been wrestling with feelings of failure and defeat with some of my work. The talk of perseverance was inspiring, it was what I needed. Thank you so much for going through some of your past mistakes so you could tell us that it;s okay to make them. Cheers.
I was feeling the same thing. I'm a musician and have been feeling pretty down on myself about not being good enough lately. This video helped a little. Gave me some pep.

One of the best ways to show that your a bad-ass is the willingness to look back on yourself and admit that you sucked at one point earlier in your life.
I think the real reason we all keep coming back to these dunkey videos isn’t for his sarcasm, or his wacky sense of humor. Every now and then Dunkey puts something out there that is profound and relevant to the way everyone should live. Axioms aren’t often fun to listen to, as we reflexively think/say “I know.” Here Dunkey conflates the persistence it takes to beat a game like Cuphead with his persistence in building his skills and his channel, and he does it in a beautiful way. Keep it up. You can do it. Never stop yourself. More Dunkhearted.
videogamedunkey, It is admirable to see how you kept with video creation and editing from so long ago when others would quit. It must be a great feeling to know that you are one of the most respected of them. I love your videos and find your creativity to be amazing. But what I find most admirable is your ability to be genuine. You put care and thoughtful feelings into most of your videos. I find that hard for most UA-camrs/Streamers to do because they pander to the general public for the views. I hope that you continue to be you and to never fall to the need to be part of the clout of gaming. Thank you for the best quality entertainment!!
Dunkey will forever be one of my favorite youtubers of all time, he puts so much effort into every aspect of his videos and he has an amazing personality, i wish i was his friend irl, but everyone feels that way about their idols... I have only started watching him from the day he quit league, but it feels like a lifetime... thank you for the laughs and the countless hours of entertainment... and congrats to Jason and Leah for getting married.
I find this extremely inspirational. You don’t just wake up one day and be king, everyone has to start somewhere, and I’m glad one of the best people on UA-cam showed you don’t have to always be perfect to end up being one of the best in your industry
I’m actually proud of you for uploading all your old stuff. Even if it’s just for posterity. I wish I had old content, even if it was cringy. Just to have the memories is worth it.
Damn Dunk. I've been feeling so discouraged about my own UA-cam channel, but this made me feel a bit better. Thank you for that. This was actually pretty encouraging.
boi... watch the oldest, (reuploaded by other users, of course) videos from idubbbz or filthy frank or ethan. we """"love them"""" because what they've become now. but quite frankly, they're dumb. and at that time, who would've known that they came this far. so... nobody listen to this guy's silver advice
Then there's Nigahiga and JohnsFilms whom created gold from the get-go. Nigahiga progressively got better as time went on, Jack got stale for a bit, but is making a comeback.
Ahh Newgrounds, Madness Combat, Bunny Kill, Terrible fan Sonic games, SMBZ, animations I couldn't understand. I can still feel the edge. And the place where I lost my innocence to Meet and Fuck Games in my room at 3:00 in the morning on a school night......MM! Nostalgic.
I must've never known how to browse newgrounds. Even years later it would have the same 10 videos/games. However I did play all those games on old ass sites like 2flashgames and shit
Dude, seriously. Thank you for this sweet analysis of what makes video games and life so beautiful: the hard times and the effort put into making the stage where those hard times can act. Having a rough go right now so your monologue, especially at the end, is really switching some shit up for me.
When Dunkey speaks good words about your game, you know right then that you have made it. Cuphead is a mastapiece, not because Dunkey said so either. It clearly was a mastapiece because of the incredible work the team out into the game, Dinko recognized that immediately. The way he illustrates his talking points is artistic. Truly one of the greatest UA-cams of our generation. Thank you Danky.
its part of being a kid. of course these kids aren't going to see how stupid their musicallys are, just like how dunkey didnt see how dumb his newgrounds animations were
You are my favorite youtuber. I usually watch, let's say, 4-5 videos per month. I'm italian so I'm bad at english. I've used to watch videos of someone that is popoularly known in this web site as the most viewed, but... I've reconized some kind of passion in your videos that I most know. I know that others too, put that in their work... But I like yours. So emotional and passionate and a lot more Clear. Keep going, Dunkey! Know that I watch atleast 1 video of yours per day. Sometimes I get to 5. F**k, you damn entertain me. I have fun and I also learn something on certain games about playgame and history, watching your videos. A lot of fun. Thank You, Dunkey.
…… so weirdly enough I remember your OG vids from new grounds (specifically the Yoshi ones) thinking wow this is…. Bad. But knowing now that it was a young Dunkey I have a new appreciation for those videos.
I know that feel, I remembered them earlier this year by random chance and kinda mind blowing that "WAIT A MINUTE I REMEMBER THIS KID" and connecting it to Dunkey I have watched for years now... I gave him both blams and saves, as those quality submissions gave me laughs at times so iirc I kinda gave up and started liking them lol.
Zega_Exiron its almost never going to die out. animating may be done in a computer program but until animating can simply be done by taking one picture and moving all the lines and what not around with it automatically. but the work that gets put into animating will pretty much never die Unless you want your animation to be as broken and/or generic as possible. I personally want to do animating myself soo yea.
Newgrounds was like Reddit before Reddit. The site is still active but very minimally. I remember the site had daily updates of porn, anime, toons, games, and flash art. Stick animation was the biggest thing on that site and then Fusion-Revolution became a thing. I miss Newgrounds
Dao Yang Actually, Newgrounds was more like UA-cam for talented edgy people. Egoraptor, Dunkey, Jontron, Stamper, Flashgitz, Paperbat, Oney, Psychicpebbles, Speedosausage TwistedGrim, Gonzossm, SamGreen etc. were all members at one point. Also, stick animations with the exception of flashdeckanimations and xiao xiao used to be pretty frowned upon.
Gabriel I don't remember stick animation being frowned upon. I might have joined when it became accepted because it had a lot of stick animation on it before I got my fix of stick animation from Fusion-Revolution instead. Xiao Xiao was awesome, a really hard game though. Dating Sims, flash anime art, and porn was kind of the novel of Newgrounds from what I remembered. Also Tom Fulp is awesome! Heard they've moved to bigger things though, actually making money now.
There are still some new quality animations on Newgrounds from time to time...Also anyone remember Randy Solem? He died recently...RIP that man was a legend. He made the first popular Mario vs Sonic animation. Also Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom. Good times...
13 hours to complete the game. 7 hours on this dumb flipping dragon. 4 hours on this guy And the rest was about an hour long = 12 hours. Dunkey: Buying new controllers is a very tedious task.
I'm pretty certain I saw The Great Yoshi Migration back when I was obsessed to see anything similar to Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom and getting into my first love of Flash overall. That makes me feel fuzzy inside, thanks for being an influence in my life far before I'd ever recognize you, Dunkey. RIP Randy Solem.

Art school is a waste of time
This is the first time I've seen someone review the game and give the audience encouragement that they can beat Cuphead if they don't give up.
It's refreshing to hear something positive like that.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SINCE YOU ANNOUNCED IT ON THE H3 PODCAST. Also congrats on the engagement, that's pretty neat too
zang Saaaaaaame
Piggybacking so I see if dunk replies to you guys. Yeah make sure you keep that little lady happy, go ahead and give her a happy birthday from us fans.
anonymousriceater if he replys ill cry for days.
Raymond Russell SAME! And he even said that he reads every comment! Hi Jason, you seem nice!
Cheers.
Anthony Paul you should watch a video called "I made a a movie and it stunk" it's really insightful and just plan good.
I was feeling the same thing. I'm a musician and have been feeling pretty down on myself about not being good enough lately. This video helped a little. Gave me some pep.
I'm not liking this comment. We must keep it at 420.
@@mettbickus9874 You both got this.
You're made of the same stuff as every genius that's ever existed.
Just keep going and do what you love, and you'll become great at it.
Gay
Even when Dunkey was 13 he sounded like a grown black man
videogamedunkey Thanks Dunk, I always wanted a virus.
+videogamedunkey does my virus come in red?
UHVENGE MY FA THURS DEF
That's because he was a grown black man
xD
dunkeys first video really foreshadowed big yoshi, excellent storytelling 10/10
Cuphead, it really makes you feel like Batman
Callum Friel Cup Head really makes you feel like Dark Souls
Cuphead is the Dark Souls of Batman
Mad respect for you showing 13-year old you cringe material
Nikola Tesla wow this really means something coming from Mr. Tesla himself
I agree, its really inspiring to see "hey if dunkey sucked this bad and got good, maybe I can too!"
One of the best ways to show that your a bad-ass is the willingness to look back on yourself and admit that you sucked at one point earlier in your life.
Respect +9000
Im glad you went back to your Newgrounds stuff after talking about it on the h3h3 podcast.
More Dunkhearted.
videogamedunkey,
It is admirable to see how you kept with video creation and editing from so long ago when others would quit.
Well you should check out drama mondays! The new schedule that's going on it's great too!
Bowser's big bean burrito
Finally, the mastah reviews the mastahpeece.
Oh, was there Knack 2 in the video? i must have missed it. Knack 2 is the mastahpeece.
Yeah I am glad he decided to go back to review his older stuff which, is clearly his best work.
Equipping the smoke bomb and the scatter shot right now for my next attempt at becoming a writer. Thanks for the motivation!
Gotta be able to dodge through those critics without taking damage
Make sure to parry them
0:15 holy shit, it has officially been 17 years, congrats dunkey
Holy SHIT, that Yoda voice actor :o

Anon ymous lul, what?
Dunkey, I must say that Killbutt 2 was your finest masterpeece. Please give us Killbutt 2: HD soon
Can relate, I've been in this channel quite some time by now
Dunkey is the man of Perseverance. That was amazing seeing your old content lol also inspiring for those pursuing animation/content creation.
Cuphead really makes the batman feel like player
you mean Dark Souls really make the batman feels like the player
Puerto Rican cinema is the source of timeless classics such "The Great Yoshi Migration," "Mushroom Kingdom Live," and "Ultimate Final Challenge."
As a Puerto Rican, I can confirm
Zorro9129 puerto rico in 2017 outside of despacito xDDDD
I though it was Black Cinema who made these. You know, because Dunk's black.
I'm flippin stoked for you getting married Dunkey. Congrats you guys.
Chase Collins wait really when?
About a week ago. He and Leah are engaged. Check out the h3 podcast he and Leah were in. It's great
Congratulations, Dunkey!
Damn Dunk. I've been feeling so discouraged about my own UA-cam channel, but this made me feel a bit better. Thank you for that. This was actually pretty encouraging.
Most big creators started out pretty shitty. Did you see his 2,005 clips? Persistence is what differentiates
boi... watch the oldest, (reuploaded by other users, of course) videos from idubbbz or filthy frank or ethan. we """"love them"""" because what they've become now. but quite frankly, they're dumb. and at that time, who would've known that they came this far. so... nobody listen to this guy's silver advice
same
Unless you're an animator like me and just got told why people shouldn't animate. :(
Then there's Nigahiga and JohnsFilms whom created gold from the get-go.
It still warms my heart that Madness continues to still be a thing
Rockin Robin does fuck games literally just straight up mean what i think it does?
Rockin Robin the
Rockin Robin Williams
2:26 he sounds like he’s in the principals office
I like how everyone of Dunkey's videos is secretly very well made
wtf does that mean
@@sspoon seriously lmao
Dude, seriously. Thank you for this sweet analysis of what makes video games and life so beautiful: the hard times and the effort put into making the stage where those hard times can act. Having a rough go right now so your monologue, especially at the end, is really switching some shit up for me.
Wasn't expecting this to be so inspiring
'im not a good gamer'
*beats cuphead in 13 hours*
bro, 13 hours is one boss
Who's this Dunkey guy? I'm still just waiting for the next installment of Ackbar.
I was always pissed off when he made front page with Ackbar... but then i watched it anyway and fived it. lol
Whats this grammar guy?
We're never getting it... are we... :,(
what is the character in your avatar from?
Ah yes, ackbar
I think Dunkey could have potential to work on Cuphead 2
We can only prey that this much effort is put into Knack 3's boss fights, then we will really have the Citizen Kane of videogaming
Knack 3 will be the Dark Souls of video gaming.
The self awareness of 13yos in the early 2000s was non existent... I take that back musical.ly is used by kids my age nvm
its part of being a kid. of course these kids aren't going to see how stupid their musicallys are, just like how dunkey didnt see how dumb his newgrounds animations were
i wonder how dumb i was when i was 13
i bet 5 bucks that you're 13 right now, dr.kirby
nope, 15
It’s the gross stuff you find at the bottom of your bin after you empty it
I watched the Podcast and i was waiting for this.
bdimp What podcast?
h3 podcast
dunkey and leah were on h3's podcast and dunkey got engaged to leah
ryboits75 Does that mean I don't have a chance with Dunk anymore?
Theres always a chance for everything
Spoken from the heart
Wholesome
"4-5 videos per MONTH"
Amateur, those are rookie numbers.
Come back when 4-5 videos per hour feels sparse.

@@92brunod ahahaha
…… so weirdly enough I remember your OG vids from new grounds (specifically the Yoshi ones) thinking wow this is…. Bad. But knowing now that it was a young Dunkey I have a new appreciation for those videos.
NOSTALGIA BABYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Mad Soldier your here too?
are you following me or something
are you following me or something
Mad Soldier everywhere I go on UA-cam you are there o_0
Air Runner safe he is following you
(͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
It's genuinely kind of freaky to see that something I watched on newgrounds so long ago was by actually by dunkey.
BrownieSyndrome christ, who knew?
I know that feel, I remembered them earlier this year by random chance and kinda mind blowing that "WAIT A MINUTE I REMEMBER THIS KID" and connecting it to Dunkey I have watched for years now... I gave him both blams and saves, as those quality submissions gave me laughs at times so iirc I kinda gave up and started liking them lol.
i remember playing tank search, which is actually kinda poepular, it has like 170k views
It's genuinley kind of freaky seeing a pic of homestar runner, popular in the 90s internet. Don't act like you're old kiddo, you aren't.
BrownieSyndrome Now u know who did that trash
Hand Drawn is my favorite kind of animation and I always hope it doesn't die out.
The great yoshi migration was probably the best piece of cinematography ive ever seen
Gabriel
I don't remember stick animation being frowned upon.
I remember the badger video. I think that video Gay Bar was from there too. My first memes...
There are still some new quality animations on Newgrounds from time to time...Also anyone remember Randy Solem? He died recently...RIP that man was a legend. He made the first popular Mario vs Sonic animation. Also Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom. Good times...
We all do my friend, we all do....
13 hours to complete the game.
7 hours on this dumb flipping dragon.
4 hours on this guy
And the rest was about an hour long
= 12 hours.
Dunkey: Buying new controllers is a very tedious task.
Ngl buying 13 controllers one buy one in only an hour is pretty impressive.
Probably spent an entire hour throwing controllers lol
The other hour his brother was playing
This proves that Dunkey has been preparing Beeg Yoshi since his first animation.
I had to turn video off because dunkey said to do it
Can someone say what is going on now in the video?
Krzysztof Dolecki he said he will kill his 13-year old self and cuphead's good
You didn't miss much. Boring video
Krzysztof Dolecki you don't wanna know
Dunkey shows us his best content yet
Such obediance is a remarkable trait. I am envious.
another dunkview!
FAKE DUNKEY NOT REAL IS BOT
LoL
where is the full version of the ymca parody
I like how he's always sounded like this
A truly inspiring tale about staying true to your art, busting your ass for your passions, and never giving up

Jamaree Townsend Yes
He did kill Chef Boyardee, leader of the chef mafia, you know.
no, hes the final boss
nah, just a black dude
But he's not though...
This also reminds me of that time Dunkey beat Sky in smash
