As soon as you mentioned tinnitus my ear started. my ears hurt too when they are exposed to too loud of a noise but thank God my tinnitus is not a constant ring. To many power tools and explosions
I bought a Walker Xcel Bluetooth for about $70.00 at Academy Sports just after Christmas, (regularly $149.00). I have been using them while mowing listening to music and radio. I can lower or raise the external sounds to near zero allowing me to lower the volume on Bluetooth. Awesome sound quality. They work GREAT at the range where I can use four different sound modes to hear normal conversation while accentuating for steel ringing. These are my third electronic ear-pro headphones and are by far the best.
I wish an ear pro company would make a set of electronic muffs with a shake awake feature. It would be nice to lay them next to the home defense gun and not have to worry about turning them on.
Great advice Cameron! I am going through the same thing, ringing and rattle when I get in loud crowds or a TV. I am glad my Mini's aren't loud when I shoot them. lol
I run the same setup, foamies with walker's over top and it works really well and the headsets are comfy and you can hear everything going on around you. Protect them ears yall and have a blast.
One problem about being in a high pressure (loud) environment is that damaging sound pressure levels also travel through the neck and cause permanent damage to the ears. So, plugs and muffs do help, but know that your neck is another vector.
Used the audio of you shooting in this video to test out my Walker's Ear Pros. Nice Bonus offer gained by this video instead running to the range and shooting $$ in ammo. TWANGnBANG saving me even more money!
I've always been scared of using these products. My mind always goes to "what if?". What if the electronics fail, amplify the gunshot directly into your ear? That's terrifying to me. I work in cybersecurity and see systems fail and backfire in ways they never should all the time. I don't think I could ever bring myself to trust something like this, despite wanting to badly! The amplification seems so handy and advantageous. Loved the video as always, TWANGnBANG! Thank you!!
If the electronics die, then they work like regular ear muffs with full protection. If they somehow fail to shut off, the sound from the speakers can only be so loud, and that is well below the volume that will damage your hearing. There is no way these do the things you're worried about.
My mute button presses did not have the same 0.02-second reaction time as the Silencers! I bought Walker muffs probably eight years ago and also use foam plugs with them. Might pick up a pair of those Razors!
The Razor Pro upgrade includes an auto shut-off function that can be set for two, four, or six hours. Noticed you last posted three years ago. Guess life got in the way.
This is timely. Just got a Ruger Gp100 (been wanting it for nearly as long as I've watched your channel, a long time), and I have been looking at better ear muffs.
Those walkers look awesome tell Santa I'll be good this year. When you going to get some cool tactical gear for the General? Man's best friend can carry medical supplies and body armor too... 🤔
Well, I've been working on a whole business around The General and his buds, but sadly, the manufacturing world in the US moves at a snail's pace and I fear the tailwinds that would've given it a good boost are largely gone now.
I've actually doubled up with the Walker In-ears and electronic muffs with both of them on so I have protection and can still hear everything around me....lol
Flexing with the Cottonelle in the back 😎🤙🏽 but seriously love this vid. I have some Howard Weight ear pro. Though i have to check out the walkers. leaning towards the earbuds when im at the indoor range and outdoor. Love the demo. And the case is nuts
Miss your videos sir. You made one on RPR. Years ago and I regret not buying one. Now they are near 2G. Im looking at SFAR 308. What do you think. Post a review. Im a fan
I already bought Walker's ear pro a while back. I just decided to watch a 20 minute video to find out if they are awesome or they suck. I would go shooting to try them out, but I'm in the doghouse for a while and I'm hoping that after a little more labor I will be free to pursue recreational activity that doesn't involve a stroller. I bought a gun.
@@TWANGnBANG Holy crap I just joined Woody's after moving to Wake County. I've been subscribed to you for a long time, so hopefully will see you out there sometime.
My left ear is also worse I’ve shot and gone completely deaf in my left ear for about an hour not something I wanna do again. The ringing in my ears sounds like the terrible old loud tv noise they use to make.
My hearing chart is very similar with the same max loss around 4000 Hz. As explained to me by a doctor, gunfire attacks the frequency response at 4000 Hz. Very common among shooters.
I damaged my hearing in Aug of 18'. I had hearing pro on, and was shooting a friends .308 with a muzzle brake. I can only guess that the seal on my right ear broke, and that was enough to let the blast in. Anyway, chronic incurable tinnitus from my right ear with hearing loss. I will not go shooting without inner ear plugs in over top 33 dB rated muffs. Like you said, the hair cells are either broken or just hangin on by a thread, and there is no cure or way to repair or regrow them. Not in our lifetime. Maybe when stem cell research is really unleashed. Some day. So, my advice is to not use items like this. The problem with electronic devices, is they can fail. Even one shot at a higher decibel rating and that's all she wrote. You are done. I'll never use anything but mechanical plugs and muffs. Always double up. Trust me. You do NOT want tinnitus. It is life-changing. Some people can't cope and it literally ruins their life. Don't risk it. Double up.
Electronic earpro is incapable of amplifying sound above a certain level, so you aren't going to ever blast your ears by a gunshot while wearing them. The ear cups provide continuous protection against the actual sound, so the worst you'd ever get would be an instantaneous pop of the maximum sound the speakers can generate, and that is way below the threshold for damaging your ears.
Hmmm if only there was an easy made sound suppressor that didn’t have ridiculous laws 🤔.. maybe one day. Clearly future tech. Almost like it’s a health protective device. Government should surely be ok with owning these things right??
Yes, family medical drama has meant I can't get to the range to test product like I used to. I'm not a vlog, so that means no way to generate the kind of content I like to produce.

Hey Cameron I haven't seen any new videos posted hope you and your family are going well through the coronavirus crisis.
We're doing OK, all things considered. I've been focusing on growing my tech channel: UA-cam.com/TheTechofTech
@@TWANGnBANG And it's a really awesome channel
A Tactical Dimples video! A good thing.
Amplified earmuffs turned all the way up would be good for home defense too.

Do these have sound amplification for when there’s no firing like most headsets
Yes. Up to 5x amplification.

This is about the first shilled product that I've been interested in.
Edit: not enamored of the prices for the earbuds, but maybe that's the market...

Try CBD oil for the ringing in the ear.

Yo take it from a shooter, tinnitus is temporary on a long enough time line. LCR 357 made my life bad for 2 or 3 years. I got better ( monty python).
I'm 50yo and have been dealing with it for at least 25 years. How much longer must I wait? :)
