    You really are saving me with these videos. I always get nervous and confused when I'm at the doctor's so seeing someone else go through this helps me understand what to look at for and possibly know what to ask. Thanks man! ☺️

    Random thoughts: LMAO. I would never be calm enough to enjoy a snack in the doctor's office. I love your doc. I love that he called you "kiddo." He doesn't seem that old. And last- I have so much freaking respect for the way you manage your own health. I have a chronic condition too, and I wish I could be half as responsible about it as you are. Good for you! 💗

    Excellent video; thank you for sharing!
    I was switched over to Biktarvy about a year ago, and my body tolerates it pretty well, minus a little insomnia and slight depression. (Previously was on Descovy/Tivicay) Glad you are doing well my friend! Again, thanks for sharing your journey with all of us. It helps me to feel less alone as we navigate this journey of living our best life while living with HIV.

    I have to say I love the attentiveness of your doctor. it’s hard to find a doctor that at least acts like they are really truly interested in what you’re coming to see them for. mine can work on that. I think I need to find a new one

    Thanks for sharing your life with us! I’m completely uninhibited and have no qualms about sharing all aspects of my life with people...but I don’t meet too many people like that...so it’s always so wonderful to watch your videos. I’m glad that people are starting to realize that people with HIV really aren’t any different from us...especially now that they know that U=U! 😁 Your doc’s pretty handsome...I think it’s his disposition that’s the winner. When you get older, looks seem to matter less and less. 👍🏽 He also asks a lot of great questions from a Physical Therapy stand point...and yes, my iliotibial band gets really tight too.

  • @socalguy97
    @socalguy97 5 років тому +11

    Hey Raif. Don’t worry about your CD4 hovering where it does for right now. Mine was 132 when I started treatment. While it only took a few months to get it over 400, it took at least three years to get it to hit 1000. I now typically hover right around 800. The process can definitely take a while. It’s all good :-)

      Raif Derrazi, actually, some good news. I just got half my labs back since I switched from Atripla to Biktarvy a month ago. My CD4 is up to 1037 from 800 where it sat for years. I’m still waiting for my viral load. Keep in mind this is where I’m at today from a CD 4 of 132 several years ago. Good times ;-)

    • @socalguy97
      @socalguy97 4 роки тому +3

      Even better news. I got the rest of my labs. Not only is my CD4 1037 up from around 800, but I’m more undetectable now on Biktarvy than I ever was on Atripla. UCLA, where I’m treated, can count as low as 20 viral particles. On Atripla, I’d always come back as “Detected

    I get those bumps too. Mostly on my hands and fingers. But it’s on the palms and under side of the fingers. It happens maybe once a month or once every two months. Usually if I get sick or under stress is when I see the flair ups. And both effect immune function. So that’s when the bumps arise the most. 🤔
