The new cast really came together for this one.
I hardly recognize any of them. The transition has been grotesquely fast this time around.
His Michael Strahan was excellent.
This was Devon's best skit this season. He delivered the funny so casually.
He's usually horrible and unnatural at all so I'm glad he did better than OK on this one.

This is so on point. My mom and I were talking about how these commercials are treating it like it’s a Gay man disease the way they used to. No one is saying anything about it. You rarely see heterosexual couples in the commercials.
That's cuz it is. Most infections are through gay sex and intravenous drug use.
That’s because most people who get it is because of gay sex. They know who to target in the Commercials otherwise you would see more straight people versions.

I can definitely tell you are a woman because when I watch the same script I only saw Aubrey Plaza into the scene a few times the music cut on and off a few times and some black guy talking about HIV and basketball.

When the guy in the sketch (I've already forgotten his name) kept making it clear that he was in fact straight and it just so happens he has HIV, feels like Michael Che most likely wrote this or at least lend a hand.

She was so great as host and in the skits, especially house game, black lotus, and avatar skits. I mean she did start out with improv and sketch comedy so its not surprising. I hope she hosts again in the future!

I assumed the salad had hot grilled chicken on it. So the writers were thinking of the hot chicken but Audrey was thinking about the whole salad (green leaves and other cold veggies) being hot, which seemed weird, so she made fun of it.
I don’t appreciate the audience not giving Aubrey’s line about throwing her breakfast at her assistant the love it deserves.

Finally, Devon Walker gets to be the focus of a skit. I didn't understand why SNL hired him, or why he seemed to be cast as a lesser character in so many skits, as a newbie. I now finally see the funny in him.
I thought he was hired because Lorne managed to find a comedian who was the perfect mix of Pete Davidson and Chris Redd in looks, just like how Molly Kearney is Chris Farley meets Melissa McCarthy, Marcello Hernandez is Melissa Villasenor meets a less shy Kyle Mooney, and Michael Longfellow is Colin Jost with Cecily Strong's face and the dry, yet snarky delivery of Norm Macdonald and possibly Bill Murray.

Casting always feels heavily based on seniority at snl. A lot of new actors hardly ever get screen time until some of the big names decide to bounce.
@@ChickenBellagio Which makes perfect sense. Just the nature of show business. Senior cast members have name recognition and pull in views, plus they have the experience needed to write scripts that work how they are intended, and flow right. On top of all this, there is the whole survivorship thing. Senior cast members are the ones who werent let go year after year, generally speaking they are the best of the best.
@Luminous Dragon for sure. It's fun seeing when someone can break through that mold kind of like how I think Pete Davidson did. Kate McKinnon is another one. Just so talented they start stealing screen time.

There are people both male and female who live with HIV/AIDS and aren't gay but all the commercials for any HIV/AIDS treatment seems to be targeted towards one demographic...Gay men. I get it but it's not the 80s anymore
Michael Che told Matt and Shane about a week or two before that this is the one sketch that he was always wanted to write but it got shot down.
