I'm HIV positive...,have a partner, have a career, have a Masters, a Professional Degree, and live a happy life. If you are HIV positive don't forget who you are. It does not ultimately define you as a person. Yes, it is part of you, but it is not all of you. Think about what you enjoy. Think about your hobbies, your free time, your favorite music, movies and book. And your religion if that is part of who you are. Be strong and love yourself. You are still a person who is deserving of respect. If people think less of you, then they are the issue, not you. I am proud of who I am, and you should be too.

Only an insane person is proud of having HIV. However, if someone already has it, your life doesn't stop there, sulking about it and being depressed. You just have to move on and live your life. He's not proud, he just moves on and says hiv can fuck it.
My best friend, just recently revealed to me that he is H.I.V Positive. I love HIM for trusting me enough to trust me with HIS TRUTH. I AM sure this was a BURDEN HE had been caring. I love HIM UNCONDITIONALLY and support him in his choices. I love HIM dearly.

This is interesting... I dated this guy for four months then he comes out and tells me he’s positive. I didn’t know what to think. Nothing really changed how I thought of him. We never had intercourse since we met. We split up because he didn’t feel good about himself being positive. I had my heart broken. I wish there wasn’t that borderline on people who are positive.

I found out I was positive almost two years ago. It was extremely rough and still it in a sense. I try to stay positive and strong everyday but it mostly effects me relationship wise. I just hope to be able to find true love with no judgement one day

I weep for my friend who has it. I found out when I was drunk at the club and I was bawling on the dance floor lol. I will always support him as a friend and in managing it. I'm not ignorant about the disease. It hits right in the heart when you realize how much you care about someone. It doesn't matter to me how he got it, he is my friend that's all that matters. I hope I am able to relieve any of the emotional pain he goes through.

I love this video! The bravery the beauty of this video I literally shed a tear. I think about when someone very near and dear to me came had the talk with me about their status. I love them so much and I would do anything for this person! I know he is very forthcoming with his boyfriends, and I know he knows its not a death sentence, but he doesn't play with the fact that it's a serious disease he wishes he just hadn't of contracted. He is healthy and loved and that's all that matters.

I came here to read the comments on people who have their lives together hoping to find some kind of answer or advice. I found a few and lucky for them they found love and have a great life. But it's so different with me I feel like my life was stolen and the guy that I was dating knew of his status but never told me the truth. Oh well I guess but how can I get a full hold on life once more. All I wanted was love and look where it got me.

I’m hiv positive and I have no idea how I got it but no body in my family knows. I’m too young to go to the doctors and find out myself but I figured I had it because i looked up my symptoms online and they were spot on. my face is slowly getting destroyed (my family assumes it’s bad acne) and I recently felt like a had the flu but that’s crazy because I got the flu shot.

Didn't go the ER until days later when my body started feeling different. Now 11months later I' have HIV symptoms. Weight loss, ulcers, white tongue, fatigue, dizziness. I found out I'm Hep A reactive but I did test yesterday for HIV antibody and it was negative. Im wondering if HIV could be hiding in my Hep A
Edit...Also I've tested 5 other times for HIV with 4th generation ag/ab combo, Oraquick 4times, Also 3times with 3rd generation antibody test, and 1rapid finger prick test. Also did a HIV 1 RNA PCR test. All came back negative so far. I've started going back to church, and plan on being baptized again.

Because HIV is not aids Ronda. HIV can turn into aids if not treated. If you detect HIV early on you take medication and do everything for yourself in order to protect yourself from developing into aids. They are two different things.
Hiv isn’t aids.. aids is worse than hiv and can kill you. Hiv is manageable.
