Great video quality. I was thinking this would be the perfect engine the whole time watching Al do his swap.
Al (from the skid factory did the 6bt, 5.9L straight 6 Cummins, if that’s who you were referring to
@@danielhookway1108 I think he was suggesting that this engine is a better swap than the 6BT, and I tend to agree. The 6BT is way too heavy, will get you EPA pinged for noise before too long, and actually a bit silly when this one is available.

@@adventurecorp heres an idea.. go to brazil. buy a sht load of 4.2tdi mwm sprint engines.. fit a td06, not the mitsubishi td04.. there a german tractor engine, not mitsi.. mine has 700nm.. 175 kw.. 14 lt 100, in a s/duty.. fit these to nissan or toyota,cough.. they will kill people.. NO COMPUTER. no blow plugs.. 3'' system, ohs, 3 valves, all std...
@@adventurecorp another bs conversion. same as the gm 6.5td garbage.. ausie bs.. same as LS conversions.. more trouble than there worth.. a new, in box. gm 6.5td, from IH, in u.s. is 6k..brand new..fit an nv4500 chev box, 1,200.. job done.. not 40k for a chunk 6.5 / 6.2 anchore..

One of my "LOTTO" vehicles would be a legacy Power Wagon with one of these engines and a 6 speed manual.
The 6 cylinder in-line diesels are a bit long and are more than I would need, and while the V630 engine would seem to be a better option, it has issues.

Are there also 4.5L kits available to bolt up to the factory ZD30 Automatic?
4.5 is much more realistic than a 6BT 12/24 valve cummins which is what medium to heavy rigid trucks use to shove 15,000kg along the road with very decent performance. The 6BT is total over kill for most people and most drive trains.
correct. this is the Engine Nissan should have shoved in to replace both td42,zd30. and tune it to 210hp with a 6 speed manual behind it.
the 4.5L 4 banger could have been a one up Toyotas Arse with their Gutless 4.5L v8 diesel.

Realistically it shares sensors and parts with common machinery and theres plenty of regional cummins reps so probably very high
where is the water temp measured?
is there a thermostat in it? probably not a good thing that the engine never gets to normal running temp ie around 90degc as that is where the oil will be designed to provide optimum protection.

Would take this hands down over a 79 all day. 30k min just to fix the rear track on a new 79.. Looking at 100k+
Low km GU patrol with this conversion maybe 50-65k.. easy choice.
New rear diffs are 5k, maybe learn more before you talk.

how does 3.9 diff gears give 1800/1900 at 100kmh? I am on 4.11 ratio and its 2600 rpm at 100kmh on 33's
its an old diesel that cant rev 7 needs high gears, like a cummins 6bt. 12 v. rubbish.. get a 2.8 out of a foton tunland. cummins..300 hp..

Yep, our afapter will bolt up to your zd30 gearbox.
These arent a 4bt engine, these are comlletely different and bigger than a 4bt.
