I love trout coloured lures, I use rainbow trout coloured lures for rainbows all the time. Spoons, spinners, flies etc. must have 50 or so trout colour patterns in my tackle boxes
Senan. Do u ever use eel fry for catching trout. I used to use fry years ago with a quill float on the shannon river in limerick. Very successful method.
Nice video. Big problem in Ireland is the exclusivity. How is the general public supposed to get involved in fishing if the rules are so convoluted and the best spots are only for clubs? It's maddening and a sad comment on this country.
River locations should never be names in these rivers ! The amount of rivers I’ve seen ruined around the country by European poachers with nets. Not to mention if a river gets 10000 views and even a small percentage go to that tiny river, it’s ruined. People need to stop being so lazy and get out and find areas to fish themselves, like I did 20 years ago, and build up a knowledge of areas around Ireland which are fishable to the public. People want it handed to them on a plate, that’s not how fishing works, not real fishing anyway !
@@senanstanleyfishing I'm just talking about going out to find a nice fishing spot but you are prohibited from fishing there, which is most often the case. You should buy a license and fish wherever the hell you want. Imagine, river rights being owned by clubs. It's goddamn ridiculous
Many of the lures I am using are so hard to get, leaving me only using them when wading! Can't get a countdown elite or any Pontoon 21 Crack Jacks in the right patterns. Would love to find a place I can replenish my dwindling lure box!
Awesome fishing again buddy! I'm looking at upgrading my spinner rod to the savage gear sg4 ultra light game 0-5g 6'6, you think that's a good choice? I can't go any longer for the rivers around here in Cornwall are quite tight, cheers !
Hi no I haven’t, they aren’t available here in Ireland. Delivery from uk or Europe would make them around €25 each for a 45mm lure, couldn’t justify that when there’s 4-5€ lures that work like salmo minnow 5 👀
@@senanstanleyfishing I see. That's a ridiculous price for a lure. But if there be any chance to have it for reasonable price, I do recommend it! It's one of the most versatile and effective lure. I am using it for fishing in mountaing streams and it works brilliant.
You must have missed at the start of the video explaining the difficulty netting fish from 3 meters back behind reeds, also explaining how I wet my hands on the WET grass before handing the trout. Please listen before passing incorrect information in a comment.
Obviously it's the only video you've watched that Senan made... he performs perfect fish care.. don't comment stupidly unless you are a regular watcher
Awesome session I changed out the treble hooks on all my Jerkbaits to single barbless hooks less trauma to the fishes mouth!
Good stuff Phillip 💪
Fantastic session going out myself tomorrow after work on my local river :) 😃
Thanks man, tight lines tomorrow the weather looks good for it 😎

Hard to beat them 👍 we don’t have rainbow trout here in Irish waters, just wild brown trout ☺️
Hi nice bit of fishing 🎣
Thank you!
Great video I use Rapala countdown myself. I’ve had a few great fish this week and a bit of water last night helps. 👏
Thanks Martin, definitely all that rain is a river fisherman’s dream 😅🎣

Big shipment of Duo coming into wildhunter this week, and major craft, rapala should be in already I’m not sure though ☺️
thanks !@@senanstanleyfishing
Well senan great video👌🙌
What braided line and fleuro carbon leader line would you recommend for brown trout with spinners
Any brand, cheap 8stand ones are fine also. 8-10lb braid usually. 6lb fleuro leader ☺️👍
I just ordered two of those Rapalas and will use them on a very overgrown river which has some very large trout in it. Great video btw.
I’ve no doubt they will work great for you, lots of twitches with the rod and just keep tight to the lure, the rod jerks will get them to strike 👌
@@senanstanleyfishing Thanks.
Hi Senan what do you think of the ninja 1000 I bought one recently but haven’t tried it yet love all your clips Thanks bud
