@@AMcCann1178 Oh definitely the lyrics and the way the guitar sounds it sounds like they go along with the Juggernaut theme. A handful of their songs that were released before Juggernaut can be similar to the re-occuring theme, like Ragnarok, Masamune, and Muramasa I think can fit in there too
3:46-3:52 I don't know what it is about this one section, but it is my favorite moment of this song. Might be the chord progression, but it's absolutely beautiful.
When I first heard Meshuggah back in the '90s, I had no idea how much their music would influence the future of metal! Periphery took that next step and made djent "brutiful"! Spencer took a minute to get used to, but he has an amazing vocal range.

My god....this album is the definition of diverse. In my version I guess. I really think if you like this genre you will like one of these songs. This album is like 70 platinum coins worth. Lol jk it's priceless
I remember when these guys first came out with this album and I posted its link on the Thrice message boards and said something like "omg I can't believe people are making music I've always dreamed of" and then multiple dorks started to reply and tell me that I should never make music. That's when I understood that Thrice fans are disabled and also when I stopped caring about Thrice. Good riddance.
I'd sooner say they occur around the same time. This song is about how the entity developed his existential beliefs about life, and "Jetpacks Was Yes!" is about how he lives his endless life with those beliefs. However, the lyrics for both songs were written by two different people, so perhaps this is just a coincidence.
I don't know, I just love sumerian because they post all of their songs. I really only like Periphery. Deathcore is not very appealing to me. But hey periphery is a good reason to love sumerian.
Probably am late on this, but I'm guessing this track's title is a knock-off of Vildhjarta's song All These Feelings? Would love for this to be correct!

I can't believe how old this is. I was already 30ish when it came out and it inspired me to try to get good at guitar again
I was 9 when it came out
@@aebious8886 same man haha
18 for me
@@aebious8886 lmao me too
I was 16 when this came out. Time flies.
The intro is so heavy it hurt my feelings
So much yes.
KauBïf listening to it now, it reminds me a bit of "The Bad Thing" with the way it opens
@@AMcCann1178 Oh definitely the lyrics and the way the guitar sounds it sounds like they go along with the Juggernaut theme. A handful of their songs that were released before Juggernaut can be similar to the re-occuring theme, like Ragnarok, Masamune, and Muramasa I think can fit in there too
After 5 years I came back to say I finally stopped sobbing
😂
I love how bands like this have the weirdest song titles ever and can be the most epic thing ever at the same time.
"Bands like this"
3:54 will forever be my favorite prog moment in any song
Been listening to this song for 8 years and that melody @ 3:52 still gets me. Never regretted having their 3 dots logo tattooed.
You will once they change their logo
3 is the magic number. And I'm glad someone else recognises that 1 specific moment in the entire discography!
And excellent tattoo idea 💡
4:28 JESUS CHRIST SPENCER. Chills, every single time.
"Ow, my feelings!" xD
dropkickproductiontx UNHOLY DAAAAAYYY I'M LETTING GOOOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOOOAAHHHHHAHHHHAAAAHHHHHHH DAYUM
***** RIGHT?!
dropkickproductiontx
YESSSSSSSS
+dropkickproductiontx my spine melts every time the song gets there
Still my favourite Periphery guitar tone. So wirey, aggressive and in your face. Fuckin love it.
Ow, my feelings, this song makes me wanna cry. It's Sooo good. Spencer's voice is like a broken angel or something. Periphery is the shit!
I think this recording is Chris baretto? I could be wrong
@@GLORTHAAK Chris was the original vocalist but they definitely only used Spencer's vocals in the self titled debut album on Sumerian Records.
Yes they rerecorded all the tracks

3:46-3:52 I don't know what it is about this one section, but it is my favorite moment of this song. Might be the chord progression, but it's absolutely beautiful.
It is very confusingly melodic. It's almost a drunken feel, yet so mysterious and elagent.
Big feeling part!! The voice, cleans, and sound create a great ambience!!
I thought I was the only one! That’s what makes the song!!! Climax
The entire section at 3:28 is so perfect. Love the progression.
Oh god, the intro to this song might be the most powerful riff I have ever heard.
One of my favorites from PI!

I wasn't a fan of his voice at first either, but it grew on me
@@EmbarrassedComposer His voice fits certain songs really well but I otherwise struggle with his vocals on more than a handfull of tracks each album.
8 years later and that drum fill at 3:06 still bangs just as hard
Of course. I mean, it isn't going to change is it?
@@looksirdroids9134 people’s taste generally does change over the years. Nice try though being a smartass!

Periphery, Stray From The Path, Born of Osiris, After The Burial, and The Faceless. Fucking love Sumerian.

they were refing to the band name in the picture on the video...

ohhhh
Somehow I could totally see My Ticket Home covering this. At the very least, this is close to their instrumental style.
The production on this album is fantastic. I think people don't think it is because Spencer's singing isn't as good as on P2 and beyond.

Trey Fowler nope, this song was written in 2008 or 2009, which is 2 years before Masstaden was released.
Nintendo needs to put the chorus riff in a Mario game.

born of Osiris is progressive and the faceless is sort of
no.
this is the exact thing that comes to my mind when i think, the word SHIT
I would say vice versa. I love the Faceless. Born of Osiris is kind of, I would really just call them Deathcore/Djent.
suffokate even tho theyre arent sumerian
Please don't compare bands like that to anything on sumerian... It's embarrassing.
