    This is why when I get a console for my collection , I just stay away from these so called "refurbished" units. I just try to find the best looking one at the best price and refurbish it myself.

    Put an old credit card inside the sandpaper and slot it straight in and out. It is the best way to ensure not bending pins while your moving back and forth.

    I would have given the console review either a 2 or 3 depending wether or not they showed proof the console was chippied on the outside before your purchase. The packaging was subpar at best, and they definitely should have checked the pin connection with the issues of the blinking light. I forgot there a few screws were missing from the board, too.

    What is so hard about these companies understanding what is expected from a "refurbished" console? It's actually infuriating. When people buy refurbed, they should 100% be able to take it home, plug it in, and have it work like new.

  • @Icmlost
    @Icmlost 7 місяців тому +1

    I have two old NES consoles that do the same thing with reading the game cartridges. I'm going to follow what you did here to hopefully get them going good. One of them looks brand new and the other one definitely needs to be retro brighted due to the yellowing.

    Ehh, I know ebay can be tricky, but if you're selling as a business, I'd say you should get some actual decent boxes and packaging material, even if you increase the price sightly to cover it. And definitely make sure it's working well before you send it.

    Saying "it's not a big deal" is really off the mark. For that level of investment and the thorough cleaning that's required, it certainly is a big deal to me. Someone's definitely going to lose their good feedback and learn to do better than using just a paper towel and cleaning supplies from the dollar store. I run a repair shop myself, and when I change thermal paste on a PlayStation or repair a controller, I do a complete cleanup, washing every part that can be safely washed with soap and water. By the way, I love these videos! Keep up the great work!

    Sincerely, when I read the word, "refurbished" I expect that to be in, "like new" condition. Meaning pristine and thoroughly cleaned and all caps replaced, with certified parts (72 PIN connector for example). Basically everything except for the logic board. You can't trust anybody these days. The scratches and faded front text is unacceptable for a refubished device. That is not, "Like New" which is what refurbsihed means. You need to be a TronicsFix guy or a tinkerer like MyMateVince these days. I am considering offering my skills to this craft. We would all provide quality products. Let's start the group The Refurb Massive! It's a working title.

    The problem with wanting to innovate, well, it gives a flashing light on this NES.
    They should have kept the original design like with the NES Top Loader which does not have the problem of the "cart" like here and make it the real American NES (as the first version of a console).
    I'm sure that nothing with this little detail, it would have sold much better and would have been easily repairable.
    If I had to take one, I would not have chosen this model personally.
