- Back in the driver's seat of the TCI Engineering 1967 Mustang Fastback! We hit the NMCA autocross season opener to start our season championship run! Racing some of the fastest classic American muscle cars on the west coast. It's always an honor to drive this beastly car.

I grew up in Fontana, when there was a steel mill where you are racing. Moved up north to Chico just before the track went up. Great to see a 67 mustang with you behind the wheel.
That car is so sweet, especially in the blue.
Congrats, awesome runs. That’s one mean mustang, I love it.
Bad ass Mustang! Love the vids. Keep them coming.
Congratulations on the win.🎉🎉🎉
Thanks!
AWESOME addition to my 1st Saturday off in 3 months!
I appreciate the support Gene!
Ed’s car is totally awesome, too bad TCI Won’t make more ford applications.
Out of curiosity what Ford platform do you wish the made parts for?
Question for you bro.. how often do you check tire pressures? I’m struggling with that during my runs at autox. I feel like i lower it too much and then kill my time
I check after every run. I base my target pressure on what the tire is at hot and right before the run. So if I have 10-20 minutes between runs I will wait and check when I’m getting closer to my next run. On a hot day and long course the heat soaks into the tire and pressures can keep rising after first pulling back into grid.
On the concrete of Crows Landing the pressure usually rises 2+ lbs after the first run and then about 1 lb each run after until lap 4. Starting on lap 5 pressures usually stabilize.
They key is to roll to the start line with the same pressure. And if experimenting then that is the timing I use for deciding up or down. Lb or two.
@@AutoXandTrack thanks for the response. During the intermission between the first set of runs and the last set, the tires cool and pressure falls. Do you put air in the tires or just go into the first run of your last set with the cold pressures and have it warm up for the 5th run?
At an NMCA style event like this where between each of the three run sessions there is enough time for the pressure to fall I will add air before the next session’s first run. I just use a cheap Home Depot compressor that uses the cigarette plug.
@@AutoXandTrack thank you!
Miss these days going up against you in the 67 Mustang! I hope NMCA returns at some point in the near future
Me too! The NMCA West autocross was special for a fan of 60’s and 70’s muscle getting autocrossed and a really fun event for all.
