My '99 Cherokee has 375,xxx miles on it. 2 water pumps, 1 crank position sensor and had to replace the radiator due to a cracked plastic tank.
      Let's see FIAT do that.
      Oh....
I also forgot at about 175,xxx I had to replace the exhaust manifold. Common problem.
I currently own 4 Jeeps and have owned 6.
Iam done with Jeep till they get rid of fiat.

I have both the 2004 LJ 4.0 and a 2023 3.6 JLR. I agree the 4.0 is a dependable engine but compared to the 3.6 it's so gutless and terrible on gas. The new jeep has twice the power and gets 20 mpg.

I’ve owned a 1997 TJ. Replaced it with a 2015 JK. No significant problem with either one of them. My son had a 2019 JL. Nothing but problems, mostly electric. It spent more time at the dealers being repaired than in my son’s garage. He eventually sold it and bought a Tundra PU.
The JL’s have a lot of technology in them and that’s where the problems seem to be coming from. I think the newer JL’s have got those electrical issues worked out. I personally prefer the JK’s. They have, IMO, just enough technology to get the job done but not so much that it’s a problem .

@@robmotiveplus No. He never took it off road. It was just a lemon Any car can turn out to be a lemon. The dealer had this Jeep professionally modified from bumper to bumper. It was lifted, multiple light bars added, and a custom paint job. I think the customizing shop screwed up the electrical modifications. It cost a small fortune for all the upgrades and modifications.
That noted, the early model JL’s corrosion issues are well documented. I don’t know if Jeep has fixed that issue or not.

I'm on my 3rd Jeep. I had 0 issues with my Cherokee other than the start stop system. I had 0 issues with my Grand Cherokee. And so far my Wrangler has been great. Love the brand. I think heavy modding can contribute to issues. Jeep owners tend to tinker with their Jeeps. Mine is stock for now and probably will stay that way a while. I do light to light+ offroading right now and I'm happy with how it drives and performs. The sales is probably due to the ridiculous pricing these days.

Bought my Gladiator in May 2020. The first thing I did was disconnect the autostop from the auxiliary battery. Didn;t even run it to the main, just killed it all together. Best move I ever made. Now coming up on 4 years and no issues (knock on wood). I have to look at the A! icon on the dash, but I just tell myself it stands for "Awesome! Autostop is dead!" The only real problem I've had is with the sun visors breaking. Watched your video on the fix, and after I got the clips, it took all of 10 minutes to resolve that annoyance. Also got some $5 tubing to fix the dumb leak that comes into the cabin off the freedom top when it rains. Had to patch the leather on the center armrest, but that's my fault, not the design. Anything other than routine maintenance has cost me barely $300 over almost 4 years.

Jeeps are the most used and abused vehicle there is.There is no other vehicle that could withstand the punishment that Jeeps can take.I feel that most of the issues they may have (except ESS Aux Battery and Corrosion) are primarily from after market modding.Sales are down because of the ridiculous MSRPs

Only issue I've had with my '21 JLU is death wobble (yes, the real kind.... on stock suspension/tires). Dealer replaced steering stabilizer.... problem recurred. They wanted to replace it again but were 'out of stock.' I put on a fox 2.0 and have had no issues in months (though I have a steer smart track bar and brace that will go on shortly as a precaution). Agree on the aux battery.... I've got the stop/start eliminator and plan to remove the aux completely. On the whole I like the vehicle and plan to run it into the dirt. I don't off-road much but Los Angeles has such awful road maintenance that I feel like I'm wheeling on my daily drive.

No. Jeep sales are down because of rate hikes.
Yeah ... Jeeps are bad , but some broncos had engine failure in the first 2000 miles and they had to recall.
Bronco doesn't have the flex. It has great flex for IFS but I don't like imbalanced flex. You have to do all independent suspension or all solid axle or it's hard to get the wheel rates to match because of motion ratios etc.
About the gladiator... EVERYTHING made after 2020 seems to have issues. The post COVID cars are goofed.
In general , the more expensive a vehicle is , maybe the better it gets taken care of. I bet if someone took as good care of a Taurus as they did a Camry or Lexus , it would last just as long.
Same thing with Dodge. Maybe people who own Dodge don't change the oil as often as those who own Toyota. I'd love to see the data.

Fords are junk. Good if you need a fleet and maybe have your own mechanic. Fords currently hane a life span of 80k miles- I couldnt afford it. Toyotas are probably the best for reliability, though current models are coming out with turbo 4s, and I like the utility value of the 6. My taco pre-runner wss the best. I had a '70s small truck that had 300k+ miles on it... oh, the taco pre-runner is coming out again, with a locker this time! Tempted to trade in my Mochine, but not until these new models have seen a year or two. The Pre-Runner format is a blast!... but I digress.
Me and my Mo-chine have a connection I haven't felt since my Taco days, and I would be crazy to get rid of a vehicle that's working so well for me.
