Hi Carol, usually flights with a single PNR, baggage will be checked through to the final destination. However it is safer to check with the airline if you want to be sure.

Best to check during check in if your baggage can be picked up at the final destination. However, if you have separate tickets, you need to get bags and go through immigration, and then check in again. I believe Qatar is one of the most welcoming countries offering visas on arrival, you may want to check on your eligibility depending on your passport’s nationality

Hi, we have a 17 hour layover and booked a hotel thru the Discover Qatar which the hotel is 15 mins from the airport. We have USA passports, do you know if we go thru immigration to leave the airport or just security check point? At what point do we get the TRANSIT VISA? We do not plan to visit The Corniche, Souqs until our return trip and will take Uber taxi to the hotel and then just rest in the hotel until our next day 800am flight. We have single PNR and our luggage will go straight thru from Atlanta to Manila, Philippines.
