- When travelling to Greece in 2022, my friends and I transited through Qatar. I went on the Discover Doha Transit Tour and my vlog attracted a couple of questions on how it works. I hope that this video helps answer some of them and helps you plan a fun layover!

Sounds good! Then you’re not limited to being with the tour group all the time and if you want to spend more or less time at a place, you have that flexibility

Hi , I will be traveling to India from Nigeria via doha. I have a layover of 13 hr. When I checked with discover Qatar team they informed me that I need to have confirmed hotel reservations then only I will be allowed to go outside airport for city tour. You have not mentioned anything about hotel reservations. Is hotel reservations mandatory ?
Hello, to my knowledge a hotel reservation is not mandatory, however my layover was only about 7-8 hours and it was during the day.
@MrSachin107 for flights over 11 hours, you're eligible for a hotel room and food voucher
Hi @@MrSachin107 Travellers with Indian passport are required to have a hotel reservation from Discover Qatar for a min of 2 nights as part of the free Visa. The transit tours don't make sense as the layover is only several hours but a 2 night hotel reservation is necessary just to clear immigration.

3. This information is available on the Discover Qatar website in more detail, however in this case, you have to book your flight with Qatar Airways

Hi! Question, i have 9hrs layover… do you need to be at the desk two hours before the tour? The website said so.. I wanted to take 7pm tour but can’t make it two hours before so I take 8pm tour which means I will be finish at 11pm and my next flight is at 1:50am. I don’t know if I can. And if 3hrs tours including transportation or travel go and back the airport? Thanks!
Hi, I think the 2 hours before the tour rule depends on the tour you want to take and might be a new rule. It might also be dependent on the number of people who have already booked. I only got to the desk 30 minutes before the start of the tour.
I would say that the 3 hours does not include travel to and from the airport.
I have 5 hours transit time from doha to london in a couple weeks. Do i have enough time for a couple hours to go to see city centre then head back? Many thanks

I’m not sure. I recommend you check with your airline or the enquire on the Discover Qatar website.
If your initial transit time on the ticket is 4 hours, will they extend it until the tour ends? Because you mentioned that they have given you 8 hours, and the tour was only 3 hours long.
No they won’t extend your transit time unless you rebook your connecting flighr

I do have a layover of 21 hours in doha. Can I choose for two plans “Discover Doha” and “Discover the dessert and Inland sea” in same day

The places we went to during the tour accept USD, but they only accept cash.
If you’re paying by card, they accept any currency.

Hey, as mentioned in the video, you can leave the airport as long as your layover is 8 hours or longer

I didn’t have to pay for any other fees as entry is visa-free for South African passport holders. I didn’t have to pay for insurance. I was flying out on the same day so I didn’t have a hotel reservation but I think you could get a hotel if you book the stopover programme on the Qatar Airways website (I could be wrong but worth looking into)

Do I need to apply transit visa before departure? My layover is 12 hours, can i stay longer then 3 hours outside?
If your passport requires a visa, I recommend applying prior to departure. You can stay longer than 3 hours if you want to.

My layover was short so I did not require a hotel booking. I didn’t need a visa because Qatar is visa-free for South Africans. The Discover Qatar website should have further information

I did not need a visa as a South African passport holder. Please check on your government website or the Qatari government website whether your home country passport requires a visa for entry.

@@melanyyyh4857 it's easy but long queue 🙂. There's a counter in Doha, Qatar transit tour desk. You just need to give your passport and ticket flight pay the tour that you choose. Then they will guide you to a visa counter. For me was a long queue. There's bus that will guide you to visit places. After that you are free to do what you would like in Doha, there's taxi but It's super hot 😄. You need to have more than 8 hours lay over. I had 3 days visa free.I hope it helps.
