Oh lord, you're jumping into this rabbit hole missing two single player games worth of context. Limbus pretty much explains the concepts you're missing pretty well, but for reference, Limbus Company is a sequel to Library of Ruina, which is a sequel to Lobotomy Corporation.
Limbus is meant to be a starting/jump off point for new players. Lobotomy corp and library of ruina gives more indepth details but arent needed but i recommend them.
Honestly limbus is not that great even more to new player, only chapter 3 is great for standalone and chapter 1 is good because of nostalgia from their other games. Library of ruina or lobotomy is better for new player
Well, Limbus isn't really a 'sequel' sequel, but more-so another game that's set in the same universe. Think of Tales from Borderlands as a reference, I suppose, though Limbus takes place after the events of the previous two games.
@@18_moch.januarakbar17 Eh. It depends. I think Limbus is the better starting point because it only references the Fall of L Corp and the Smoke Wars so far, while Ruina includes both of those events plus the Dark Days and White Nights and the entirety of L Corp's story. I think Limbus is the better starting point, and if you like Limbus, you then play Ruina or Lobotomy Corp.
Limbus is a bit different from most other gacha in that they go tall rather than wide with their cast. That is to say the 12 characters you saw trailers for are all there is and banners offer glimpses of many alternate histories for each of them. What could they be if their lives had gone a little bit differently at some point?
So, a quick list of books each character is based on(including those you recognized because yes): Charon, Vergilius(both are at 2:07), Dante(the clock person) - Divine Comedy Gregor - Metamorphesis Rodion - Crime and Punishment Sinclair - Demian Yi Sang - based on a Korean writer with the same alias, but also on thier work "Wings" Ishmael - Moby Dick Heathcliff - Wuthering Heights Don Quixote - Don Quixote Hong Lu - Dream of the Red Chamber Ryoshu - Hell Screen Meursault - The Stranger Outis - The Odyssey Faust - Faust
Charon is based on Greek mythology, not Divine comedy. Charon is a ferryman of the river Styx that carries the souls of people who were given proper burial rituals over the river and into the afterlife
@@LotusHearted also because if you wanted precision it should also been said Vergilius was a Latin poet that really existed, but of course this one is inspired by the one who guides Dante throughtout the Divine Comedy
Fun fact about Gregor's Voice Actor. He also does the voice of Mr. Krabbs in Korean Spongebob, and it gets a funny little reference in the 1st side chapter where it takes place in a small restaurant.
i love when another unsuspecting youtuber gets dragged into this awesome game series about our favourite inhuman experiments and horrors beyond our comprehension! can't wait for you to try Limbus Company out if you decide to. the gameplay i would say is quite unusual, but is still fun and engaging once you get a hang of it. and the story is amazing too. definitely worth checking out.
An unsuspecting youtuber: Oh boy, this gacha sure looks interesting, the characters look neat as well! *Several long spindly arms grab hold of the youtuber and drags them across the floor and down into the rabbit hole that is Project Moon lore* One of us
@@ianlewis7565 It's more psychological horror than anything. There are no jumpscares in any of the PM games... You are given much time to brace for what's coming. And even if you fail to face the fear... You always have time to rewind. No worries.
Limbus Company is the third installment in a series of games, all set in the same universe. Lobotomy Corporation -> Library of Ruina -> Limbus Company I absolutely recommend them, the lore goes really deep and it''s really interesting and fascinating
There is also additional content that happen in-between most of those points wonder lab during/slightly after lob corp.distortion detective during library of Ruinia and levathing between Limbus and library
Lobo corp is the bottom half of bread of the pm sandwich Library of Ruina is the top half of the bread, and the entire filling. and Limbus company is the plate
In Limbus Company you only have 12 playable characters called the "sinners". You roll alternate versions of these sinners that you can equip called Identities.
The setting of this game is reeeally interesting. The City is a giant well city, with the estimate of 6 billion people living in it, it is divided into 26 districts named after each alphabet letter. Each district has a mega corporation ruling over them called a Wing, each Wing has a reality-bending technology that they call a singularity. A nest is where the wing take care of its citizens, outside the Nest are the backstreets(you really don’t want to get anywhere near there). The City throughout its history has countless problems and horror beyond your expectations, have fun!
there is also the fixers and Fixer assosiations. A fixer is a mercenary that can do a lot of things for money they are all sponsored by the Assosiations which are in a sense the secondary government of the city. fixers are given a grade from 9-1 9 being the worst to 1 being the best. some fixers are so skilled/powerful that they are given a color that no other fixer may have as long as that fixer lives Vergilius is a color fixer the red gaze. The associations are special large groups of fixers. there are 13 associations each named after a number Hana meaning one in korean manages fixers and the rest of the assosiations.
@@stuckerfan2563 hell, even the horrors of darkest dungeon (not counting final boss) or the binding of issac (without the censoring that the art provides) are just a bad day at minimum in the city
@@samuelmcewen9011 Not all fixers are sponsored by associations. Many fixers join private offices to do requests. They are often broke because they spend a lot of money on weapons and other stuff. You can also join an Association, but you must follow their orders and missions (they don't care about your safety). So both choices aren't perfect.
The gasha system in this game is very unique. There is only 12 characters (you get all base characters at the start), you take 4-5 into the combat while the rest provide support. What you roll in the gasha are Identities and EGO. Identities are alternate versions of those 12 characters, with different stats, resistances, skills and so and when you enter combat you choose which version of that character enters battle, meanwhile EGOs are Ultimate attacks. I personally love this system, because my greatest problem with many gachas is unless you favourite character is very popular you won't see them in story a lot. Here since the cast is pretty limited you can always be sure the character you like will show up eventually.
Mersault: Says basically nothing during the first 3 chapters Hells chicken interlude: Drops a freaking diss track on the sinners cooking skills Perfect example of how every character does get their moments to shine
@@samuelmcewen9011 makes the job easier for any Backstreet-resident-turned-Feathers to get used to the Clean Up Crew job. Lesti's the prime (and only) example
For more context for all the Districts, each one is controlled by a company known as a Wing. The "City" (the setting the game takes place in) is not hell, it is a dystopian cyberpunk-like setting. Edit: Each district is made up of a Nest and a Backstreets region. The Nest is a (relatively) safe space in a District, as it is under the direct control of the corporation in that area. The Backstreets on the other hand are a lawless part of a District inhabited by the poor, downtrodden, and criminal syndicates.
To be fair, The City may not be literally hell, but it is certainly a metaphorical hell. Like, I love PM games, but I would NEVER want to live in this setting.
Talk about convenient timing - Season 2 of Limbus is about to drop in a couple days, so June 2nd or later might be a good time to pick the game up. Probably one of the biggest things to know about - in case it wasn't made clear, is that unlike most gacha games, you are ONLY using these core 12 characters, the Sinners. However, what you instead pull for is various "Identities" (or IDs) for each Sinner, which completely changes their stats and abilities. In the lore these are effectively "paralell universe" versions of the Sinners that you're "borrowing" powers from. The Identities shown at [31:57] were two event-exclusive ones that will be unobtainable in Season 2, BUT will be available again from Season 3 onwards. Though, some Identities don't COMPLETELY change a Sinner's playstyle, but rather modify it - for example, _most_ of Meurault and Gregor's Identities tend to take on a "tank" role, with Meursault being the kind of tank that just has absurdly high health and defense, while Gregor is the type of tank that regens his own health. Other Sinners also have running themes like this. You also obtain E.G.O for your Sinners, both through random pulls, and through the seasonal Battle Pass. E.G.O serve as powerful skills that can be used under certain conditions. All of the E.G.O shown in the character trailers, such as at [9:04], are "starter" E.G.O that are given to all new players, but there's tons more to obtain as well. All of the teams you'll create basically involve you create a "build" for _each Sinner_ by selecting an Identity and a set of E.G.O, and the game tries to focus far more on _team synergy_ than the power of any one, individual unit. This means that every Identity and E.G.O - even the weakest ones - are totally usable with the right team composition, either now or in the future.
"This game is made by Project Moon. In case you aren't familiar with them, they are the studio which has the track record of making Gore enjoyers question their life decisions". Tsunul
Each character does take from piece of classic media but their a number of differences between them. Yi Sang is based on a character the Korean short story Wings. The character is unnamed so he is named after the author's pen name Faust is like you said So is Don Quixote. But a more darker take. Ryoshu is from Hellscream and is an alternative reading of the main character's name. Meursalt is from The Stranger a French novel and youngest story referenced. Hong Lu is named after the book (dream of the red chamber) and main character both being alternative reading of his name. Heathcliff is from wuthering Heights. Ishmael is so far a mix between Captain Aham and the Narrator Ishmael. But think they may have been the same all along. Rodion is from Crime and punishment a story about redemption Dante is from the divine comedy which is three books with inferno being the most popular. Sinclair is from the Demonie a coming of age. Outis is from the Odyssey. Her name being the false one name given to a cyclops that captured him. After blinding the cyclops no one came to his aid because Outis is Greek for Nobody and so the cyclops is screaming "Nobody is attacking me!" Gregor is from metamorphosis which is more depressing if you know about the author's family. Hell's chicken has no cannibalism.
Limbus is part of a series of games that are very dear to my heart. Project Moon have continuously grown this incredibly interesting world and I'd love to see you try out Limbus. Unlike some other gacha games you dont have to treat this one like a job unless you want to get every single identity/ego in the shop. You can safely just play through the story and then login 4 minutes a day if you want to clear your dailies while waiting for each new story update (the new chapter is out on june 2nd).
Oh my. I was NOT expecting you to jump into the Project Moon rabbit hole. I know you have more than a fair share on your list of things to react to. But I would love to see you react to the Library of Ruina OST! It is the game that preceeded Limbus Company and it is really quite a treat
In summary (mechanically): Lobotomy corporation is an SCP foundation style management sim. It’s actually quite hard/tedious. Library of Ruina is a card battler that takes place after Lobotomy corporation, and pretty much everyone returns. Both have lore stuff, both cost money, both take time. Both are fun though (and Lob. Corp has mods that make it easier)
Project Moon, despite being a pretty small studio do some absolutely fantastic work. We're actually on the cusp of getting the fourth chapter, which ESPECIALLY after how amazing Chapter 3 was, I'd highly recommend, we're all literally on the edge of our seats right now lol. If you're familiar with the source material, PM has included a lot of references and Easter Eggs for the various literary characters that make up our core cast, which as an interesting note in relation to other Gachas, are likely the only 12 characters we'll ever play as. Also the Music is god-tier. From the battle compositions to Mili's Impeccable capstone boss themes, PM's Musical score is honestly something to check out. Each chapter also has an ending theme sung by one of the voice actors, and honestly it gets me every time lol. I also love that you were immediately taken with Gregor, let's be honest we all simp for the Hot Bug Dad. Honestly the cast are all really ecclectic and I'm super excited to see more of them fleshed out as time goes on.
3:30 More very gritty sci-fi dystopia than post-apocalypse. The people being ran over the bus where genuinely just normal people, no weird illness or anything, just backstreet thugs. 4:45 The main cast of character carries VERY heavy literary references, with the the player's representation being Dante with the overarching story having a lot of Dante's Inferno references (remember the start of the trailer a guy called Vergilius is your guide). 8:17 Limbus Company very much benefits in being the third game in a series, so they've had two games (and a few manga) already to develop the The City (the place that the games take place in). On a related note I would highly recommend you at least look up videos about the previous two games, Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina, if you are interested in the game as some things might not make any sense without knowledge from those games (which are not Gachas), though in game Limbus Company does a decent job explaining everything immediately relevant to the story. 14:15 Ryoshu is a bit less obvious of a reference, but she's based on Yoshihide from Hell Screen, who is based on Ebusshi Ryoshu from Japanese folklore (so you could say she's based on the folklore character as well). 15:50 Yeah it should probably be noted... we aren't playing as heroes, heroes don't really exist in the City. Those yes you are correct, Meursault's literary reference is Meursault from The Stranger. 17:33 While I'm not sure what character he is based on, Hong Lu is based on the Chinese book Dream of the Red Chamber (or as it's called in Chinese, Honglou Meng). 19:42 Quite literally yes, the main cast of characters are known as the Sinners and are numbered 1 through 13, though we currently don't know of what significance the numbers have. Though no, the City isn't literally Hell, it's just a hellish place to live. For reference the Sinners are numbered in order of Yi Sang, Faust, Don Quixote, Ryoshu, Meursault, Hong Lu, Heathcliff, Ishmael, Rodion, Dante (the player), Sinclair, Outis, and Gregor. 21:29 Yeah, Project Moon is a Korean company, so the original language and dubbing is in Korean. Though also yeah, the voice acting in their games is usually really great. 20:10 The Captain of the Pequod was Ahab. Also yeah, the names are not just nods to books, the Sinners backgrounds do have similarities to the book characters as well. Though we currently don't know to what extent those similarities are for most of them as we've only had the backstories of 3 of the Sinners explored so far. 23:38 Personally I wouldn't rule out that line referring to her Ahab rather than the whale. Also yes, other characters from those books have shown up. 23:50 Rodion is based on the character Rodion Raskolnikov from the Russian novel Crime and Punishment. 25:35 Sinclair is based on the character Emil Sinclair from the German story Demian: The Story of Emil Sinclair's Youth. 28:57 Outis is a bit difficult to tell since her name is actually a pseudonym of a character. She is based on Odysseus from the Odyssey, with her name specifically being the fake name Odysseus used to trick the blind cyclops Polyphemus, as Outis is Greek for Nobody. Hence the line "I am... nothing at all." and the first lines of her E.G.O being "this was meant to be an odyssey." 32:04 They're more like Honkai Impact's battlesuits. You only have the 12 playable characters, but they get different versions of themselves called Identities. 32:15 Yeah... meat uh... is really rare in the City outside of human meat. 34:00 No, that was Yi Sang. 35:10 You build teams of up to 5 characters (with the remaining 7 characters providing support passives), and while there are only 12 playable characters, like I mentioned in an earlier part of this comment, new "characters" are like Hi3's battlesuits in that new characters are just other versions of the same characters we already have. 36:09 Yes, Lobotomy Corporation, Library of Ruina, and Limbus Company are all directly synched, with Lobotomy Corp being the first game in the series, Ruina being the second, and Limbus being the third and newest. Fortunately you don't need to play Lobotomy Corp and Ruina to understand Limbus Company though as Limbus Company is a completely new cast of characters disconnected from the events of the previous games and are digging through the ruins, so the game explains relevant details for you as the Sinners themselves are needing to learn that information for themselves as well. But yeah, that's why I'd highly recommend looking into Lobotomy Corporations and Library of Ruina's lore before playing, if you want to watch and react to it there are two videos by WordsmithVids who does a fairly decent job of briefly summarizing the lore of those two games in his three videos "A Brief Summary of Lobotomy Corporation So You Can Go Play Library of Ruina" and "A Brief Summary of Library of Ruina So You Can Go Play Limbus Company Part 1" and Part 2. To my knowledge he's completely fine with people reacting to his videos (the PM brain rot desperately craves new victims). Also yeah, I'd definitely recommend playing the game, PM's games have great stories, though also quite dark.
Hong Lu is based off of the main character of Dream of the Red Chamber, Jia Baoyu, but his name is a pun based on the name of the book in Chinese (Honglou Meng)
Game is 100% worth checking out. It's the third game of Project Moon, the first and second being Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina. They are sequels, Lob. Corp being the first, after that Ruina and then Limbus. Game is very generous, the gameplay is fun and their strong point is definitely their story and worldbuilding. Personally, I am very in love with the company and their games and would wholeheartedly recommend checking them out. Tons of difficulty spikes in them, but they are very fair if you get the hang of them. Also yes, a lot of references to literature through characters and abnormalities, I love it.
@@yejunkim1510 Honestly, I find starting with Lobotomy Corporation to make sense since it involves you into the story since it's beginning. However, out of all the games, it's by far the hardest. You can of course play it, since it's quite an interesting management game. Library of Ruina is amazing all over the board and the story is awesome. Has a card-fighting style, I guess? Very fun to be honest. LoR has spoilers to Lobotomy Corporation, however. But it does a good recap of it's events if you haven't played LC. Limbus Company is pretty standalone for now, but it doesn't feature any of the prior story yet. Honestly I prefer Ruina's gameplay, but LCB has some amazing fights that were just so investing to me.
The first two games have quite the extensive amount of lore Limbus builds upon, as mentioned by other comments. If the pull of Limbus is too much to resist, the channel WordsmithVids has good summaries of the stories of those games and the side material. While Lobotomy Corporation (first game) is one of my favourite games of all time and Library of Ruina (second game) is basically a non-gacha version of Limbus with a different story, they can both be very difficult games to play through. Lobotomy Corporation especially, as a grindy facility management sim, is apparently infamous for making people give up partway through.
I recommend the video "Limbus Company: All Book references by the main cast" by UA-camr last minute essays, so you can get to know the characters a bit more.
So season 2 of Limbus starts in just a few days so i highly recommended jumping in if youre curious. Also Limbus does connect to the other 2 games however i dont think you need to play them to play Limbus. The game does a good job catching players up to speed with different terms used in The City. Still i recommended looking into tve other 2 games Lobotomy Corp and Library of Ruina since theyre both fantastic in their own right
Wow I was not expecting to see Limbus Company here but I am definitely not complaining. Everything Project Moon does is just amazing and it would great if you can react to the full version of the song you hear in the videos "In Hell We Live, Lament" it has some interesting lyrics. You can react to banner trailers as well
The song from the first/second trailers reminded me of the opening from "The Executioner and Her Way of Life", which was one of my favourite anime from last year, so I looked it up and it turns out it's the same people! Seems like the group, Mili, do a lot of these sort of creepy English songs.
If there's one thing that limbus is the best at in the Gacha community it's definitely the voice acting None of the gacha games I've played could ever come close to how good it is
7:26 Mili songs wont disappoint ong all of her songs filled with story based and fantasy like. she did an opening song on goblin slayer and its my all time fav song on her.
I love this and all the other Project Moon games. I hope you listen to the songs from Library of Ruina as well. There are 8 Mili songs in the Library of Ruina, so there will be enough of them for a full video. I hope there will be more videos on the Project Moon universe❤
about characters: Rodion is Родион Раскольников (Rodion Raskolnikov) the main protag from Russian novel Crime and Punishment. Ουτισ (Outis (first 2 leters reads U like in look or something) is actualy is Odisseus from Homer Odessey, this exact naming comes from episode on cyclops Island where Odesseus answers on the question whats his name Outis which in greek means no one, and after he zeroeyed cyclops, other of them came asking who did this to the guarding one, which later said no one (outis). The more you know
I'm always down for seeing people try out Limbus Company. I really like the story and characters, and the world is very fascinating. That said, it is definitely a more niche title despite it's growing popularity, so I don't know if it would be as popular as other picks. But based on your reactions, you would probably really enjoy the story and characters. Can't say for sure on the combat, it starts off pretty easy, but it gets more brutal later on. It's fun, but the tutorial also doesn't do a very good job explaining it, so if you do end up playing, it might be worth asking chat for help. If you're going to check out any of the music for the game, I recommend the following: In Hell We Live, Lament - The trailer music, but the full version Between Two Worlds - Third chapter boss theme Pass On (Sarajinae) - The credits theme for each chapter. Each chapter has the character it focused on giving a different rendition. If you're going to do another reaction to something in the game, I'd say probably the E.G.O.s? E.G.O's are the equippable special moves for the characters, with both a normal and a "corrupted" version, so to speak, if a character's sanity gets too low. They're pretty cool, but it might be tricky to find a place that has everything all together.
"CANNIBALISM!? WHATCHA MEAN!?" Ah yes, the Backstreets of District 23, good times. Also I love that you honed in on good old Gregor the second you saw him. He's a good guy. And naturally every fan on twitter simps for him deeply.
There's a few people around here saying that this game is the third of a series & while this is the third game Project Moon has ever made as Project Moon, to my knowledge, this game is actually meant to be a completely separate launch point for the setting. The gameplay is in fact turn-based, someone else went over all of the books the characters are based on already, & aaaaaaaaaaaaaa so many things I'd love to answer but I haven't the attention span or the time! There are in fact 12 characters & they all have different "Identities" that are used for the gacha, if you see a character looking different, Gacha! I really hope you get into this game, can't guarantee I'll see it unless I see a notif, but I enjoyed this video so much for reasons I can't put into words & I hope you are having a great week!
This was my first entrance into Project Moon, and as a lore goblin I adore how they tell the story and the world building through Dantehhh notes. Everything is freaking canon. The events, the luxcavations, the mirror dungeons, the railway... Everything has a reason why it's there.
Something I absolutelly love about the game (appart from everything) is that this is a game where you really don't need to spend, some of the best characters are just the default version.
Library of Ruina is a direct sequel to Lobotomy Corporation, Limbus company is after Library of Ruina in the Timeline and while the Events of previous Games are relevant, since None of the characters from previous Games have appeared in it so far, and the Main ones likely wont, the story can be enjoyed without knowing the previous Games, though they Help with knowing some aspects of the world and the reason for some Major past Events. There is also some Other Things related to the world that are lesser known, which is a Comic Type Thing known as Lobotomy Corporation Wonderlab which Takes place during Up until slightly after lobotomy Corporation, distortion Detective which is in a purely Text based Format but was stopped since they will Turn it into a Game at some Point (Takes place after lobotomy Corp and during Library) and Leviathan, which is mostly In a Comic Type Format and Takes place after library of Ruina and is essentially the Events leading into limbus company
Simple summary of character in game Dante: *clock nosies* Vergilius: Danteh...stop making that noises, it's annoying Charon: Vroom-vroom Yi Sang: poetic guy who lack sleep Faust: Faust knows it all Don: everyone No.1 happy go lucky girl Ryoshu: Murder is Art Muersault: MoreSalt Hong Lu: typical Rich boi with an Airhead Heathcliff: he really angry boi like really-really angry Ishmael: Fishmael Sinclair: best boi need hug for real Outis: the odyssey had a purpose Gregor: best bug boi and need mental support
So, Yi Sang is a character based on poets who lived during Japan's imperilalism time, where Korea was colony of them and the trailer on the last is based on his life during those time where he was in organization of nine man whom they were deep in literature. It is going to be the mainstory of chapter 4 in game, where previous chapters were about another characters (1 was for Greg, 2 Was for Rodion, 3 was for Sinclaire)
in case it hasn't been said in each of the Character Promos the E.G.O you see is their personal one with is mostly tied to them and the books they're based on. Also fun fact for Ryoshu, she never actually uses her big katana
Please play this game! The other 2 have really great lore (and the library of ruina game is like this one but more in depth with gameplay) but you don’t really need to know about them, it just flesh’s it out a lot. I myself haven’t played the other 2 but a friend got me into the series and I’ve loved it ever since!
The moment I realized this game hits different is when I realized it's not a turn based battle. It's a turn based BRAWL. Thus, speed is integral, paralysis only lasts a turn, etc etc
Might be a bit late on the scene, but Limbus Company is probably one of the most interesting Gacha's I played. The fact there is only 12 characters to pick your team made me feel relieved not having to worry about FOMO. ProjectMoon has grown to be one of my favorite Studios due to how much passion they have in their games despite changing genres every game. The narrative is very interesting and the characters become compelling more and more you spend time with them. It is a rabbit hole I am glad I stepped in. A fun fact: each chapter ends with a Sinner's VA singing the credits song "Pass On"
1) you should really give the april fools joke they made for the game a look too you should be able to recognize a lot in it XD 2) if the chracter lore interests you some more there are already videos of people explaining on what people the main characters are based off mfg Olli
There are, and forever will be only 12 playable characters in this game. The skins are their versions from another possibility, or alternate universe. The moves showed in the trailers are their E.G.O basicaly ultimate skill
The reaction to the content warning is always great, and PM absolutely means it. The "References to Traffic Incidents" always cracks me up because of the innocuous language, even if the actual content is horrifying.
The Wings Faust Don Quixote Hell Screen The Stranger Dream of a Red Chamber Wuthering Heights Moby Dick Sin and Punishment The Divine Comedy Demian The Odyssey (which definitively had a purpose) The Metamorphosis
I got into project moon through lobotomy corp. Before playing i thought it was some rip off of another game and avoided it due to said reasons. However, a couple years later i tried it out and fell in love with the franchise. Playing through lobotomy corp was a hard yet gratifying experience and library of ruina is a very reliable source of dopamine for me. When it came to limbus company however, i yet again wanted to hate it. When i heard gacha i became extremely wary and thought it was a cash grab. Project moon did admit that the game is for more stable income, yet they also said playing through the story is possible without paying a penny, so that true fans can keep up with their lore. Despite such low expectations from me. I played, and I found myself loving the franchise twelvefold. The characters are all amazing, the soundtrack is brilliant and the gameplay is alot more fun than i expected and every time something has been a pain mechanically, its been rebalanced, to top it off. Whenever its rebalanced the players are all given compensation. Limbus company is the only phone game i utterly adore. It plays like a full fledged pc game in alot of ways and despite never needing to, i have given money as proud a proud donation to project moon. Who i have faith that they'll always captivate me with their awe inspiring world they've created. While its admittedly not for everyone. I'd advise giving the franchise a try. Just don't play library of ruina before lobotomy corp. Library of ruina will outright spoil all of L-corp in the first opening dialogue. However also know thay lobotomy corp can be incredibly difficult and takes time to beat. Of which its entirely viable to skip to library of ruina if lobotomy corp proves too hard. In conclusion. Project moon has created three types of entirely different games and theyve excelled with all 3 with two more games in production. Codenamed LC:2 and LC:B. They also have 3 outlets of lore bieng the leviathan story, the wonderlabs comics and the distortion detective series. Yet even better yet, they have mili. Whom i didnt initially enjoy the vocals of, yet she grows on you. She really, *REALLY* grows on you. 10/10 will gladly play forever
like other comment has explain , Limbus is the 3rd game of a whole chain of other games and manga and novel but you're not required to play the previous title to understand the game. If you play the previous game and read their novel and manga then it's gonna give you more context and enhance your experience but it's not needed and you can jump straight into limbus if you want and the game will give you more context over the time
Found ya through your Arknight reactions, they are always so fun to wartch. Then a bit more than month or so ago I got into Limbus Company and Project Moon in general and I can't belive that ya are getting into it now too, I am pretty excited to follow ya on this journey, looking forward to the streams, thanks for being awesome!
If you want to react to some limbus content i highly recommend Last Minute essay's video on all of the 12 sinners it was made right after we saw all of they're key visuals out
Nice video! Also try watching the character ID trailers and a summary video of Project Moon's previous 2 games, namely Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina.
Oh lord, you're jumping into this rabbit hole missing two single player games worth of context. Limbus pretty much explains the concepts you're missing pretty well, but for reference, Limbus Company is a sequel to Library of Ruina, which is a sequel to Lobotomy Corporation.

Well, Limbus isn't really a 'sequel' sequel, but more-so another game that's set in the same universe. Think of Tales from Borderlands as a reference, I suppose, though Limbus takes place after the events of the previous two games.
@@doneedanickname3522 well, Tales from the Borderlands still works as an example, given that it also takes place after the events of 1 and 2.

So, a quick list of books each character is based on(including those you recognized because yes):
Charon, Vergilius(both are at 2:07), Dante(the clock person) - Divine Comedy
Gregor - Metamorphesis
Rodion - Crime and Punishment
Sinclair - Demian
Yi Sang - based on a Korean writer with the same alias, but also on thier work "Wings"
Ishmael - Moby Dick
Heathcliff - Wuthering Heights
Don Quixote - Don Quixote
Hong Lu - Dream of the Red Chamber
Ryoshu - Hell Screen
Meursault - The Stranger
Outis - The Odyssey
Faust - Faust
Charon is based on Greek mythology, not Divine comedy. Charon is a ferryman of the river Styx that carries the souls of people who were given proper burial rituals over the river and into the afterlife
@@roowdy6721 True, BUT, this Charon is specifically based off the Charon that does in fact appear in the Divine Comedy.

Limbus Company is the third installment in a series of games, all set in the same universe.
Lobotomy Corporation -> Library of Ruina -> Limbus Company
I absolutely recommend them, the lore goes really deep and it''s really interesting and fascinating
There is also additional content that happen in-between most of those points wonder lab during/slightly after lob corp.distortion detective during library of Ruinia and levathing between Limbus and library
Lobo corp is the bottom half of bread of the pm sandwich
Library of Ruina is the top half of the bread, and the entire filling.
and Limbus company is the plate
It's also one of the most fucked up place.
Where all the most horrible things in arknights is just another day in the city
@@stuckerfan2563 hell, even the horrors of darkest dungeon (not counting final boss) or the binding of issac (without the censoring that the art provides) are just a bad day at minimum in the city
@@samuelmcewen9011 Not all fixers are sponsored by associations. Many fixers join private offices to do requests. They are often broke because they spend a lot of money on weapons and other stuff. You can also join an Association, but you must follow their orders and missions (they don't care about your safety). So both choices aren't perfect.
I love how well read you are on the literature behind the cast of Limbus Company, I think you'll really enjoy this game! :]
Mersault: Says basically nothing during the first 3 chapters

"Cannibalism!?"
Ah yes, old classic District 23, you gotta love the meals they serve there compared to the rest of the City~
Strangely enough its the same district as W corp which makes way too much sense what happens in the trains.

The character is unnamed so he is named after the author's pen name
Faust is like you said
So is Don Quixote.
Rodion is from Crime and punishment a story about redemption
Dante is from the divine comedy which is three books with inferno being the most popular.
Sinclair is from the Demonie a coming of age.
Outis is from the Odyssey. Her name being the false one name given to a cyclops that captured him. After blinding the cyclops no one came to his aid because Outis is Greek for Nobody and so the cyclops is screaming "Nobody is attacking me!"
Gregor is from metamorphosis which is more depressing if you know about the author's family.
Hell's chicken has no cannibalism.
Minor thing but you misspelled Demian and Hellscreen
Hell Chicken doesn't have cannibalism but the new IDs are based on characters that do cannibalism.

6:20 "I love this character's design" Well you're in luck. That's us, the mc
Limbus company has some of the best lore i’ve seen in a gacha game, and the characters are all pretty deep
Admitidly it does have 2 more games before it
In summary (mechanically):
Lobotomy corporation is an SCP foundation style management sim.
Hence the line "I am... nothing at all." and the first lines of her E.G.O being "this was meant to be an odyssey."
32:04 They're more like Honkai Impact's battlesuits.
They’re not normal people, they’re *poor* people!
Which is pretty much everyone, except feathers of the nest lol.

I'm planning to get into the series, but which game should you start with in your opinion?

Wow. Yeah, that's literally what they're collectively called, "The Sinners". Spot on haha
The song from the first/second trailers reminded me of the opening from "The Executioner and Her Way of Life", which was one of my favourite anime from last year, so I looked it up and it turns out it's the same people! Seems like the group, Mili, do a lot of these sort of creepy English songs.
"Different regions of hell", yep thats accurate guess about City.
i must say. You figuring out the divine comedy and sinner stuff is very impressive.
If you want to play the game hope you enjoy it, it is indeed a really well writen game with an excellent universe to back it up

seeing live reactions to limbus age warning disclaimer is so awesome
I'm always down for seeing people try out Limbus Company. I really like the story and characters, and the world is very fascinating. That said, it is definitely a more niche title despite it's growing popularity, so I don't know if it would be as popular as other picks. But based on your reactions, you would probably really enjoy the story and characters. Can't say for sure on the combat, it starts off pretty easy, but it gets more brutal later on. It's fun, but the tutorial also doesn't do a very good job explaining it, so if you do end up playing, it might be worth asking chat for help.
If you're going to check out any of the music for the game, I recommend the following:
In Hell We Live, Lament - The trailer music, but the full version
Between Two Worlds - Third chapter boss theme
Pass On (Sarajinae) - The credits theme for each chapter.
WHATCHA MEAN!?"
Ah yes, the Backstreets of District 23, good times. Also I love that you honed in on good old Gregor the second you saw him. He's a good guy. And naturally every fan on twitter simps for him deeply.

Nooo. You skipped Cliff's final worlds in his trailer
"...That way - I can see Cathy again..."
I'm curious if you'd like it so I'd say give a stream of it a shot! I'm trying it myself in a couple minutes!
The only reason why cannibalism is listed here is because of 2 identities who do cannibalism and are from district of the city that does cannibalism.
Kinda funny how this was your footstep into Project Moon rabbit hole. A deep one...
Something I absolutelly love about the game (appart from everything) is that this is a game where you really don't need to spend, some of the best characters are just the default version.

what you may or may not know is that 90% of the cutscenes are voiced and YES ITS AT THIS LEVEL OF QUALITY
So, Yi Sang is a character based on poets who lived during Japan's imperilalism time, where Korea was colony of them
and the trailer on the last is based on his life during those time where he was in organization of nine man whom they were deep in literature. It is going to be the mainstory of chapter 4 in game, where previous chapters were about another characters (1 was for Greg, 2 Was for Rodion, 3 was for Sinclaire)

The game is turned-based yes, but there is a thing called clashing, where characters can basically “fight” each other
The moment I realized this game hits different is when I realized it's not a turn based battle.
It's a turn based BRAWL. Thus, speed is integral, paralysis only lasts a turn, etc etc
@@seisosimp This game isn’t one where you can just auto it every time, every round is a fight for your life…
Limbus Company is an experience more than worth the asking price.
All it asks for is your time.
6:45 Actually yeah, one of his Identities he's a chef in the Backstreets of District 23 where human meat is a 'delicacy' (was an event/welfare one)
only now i saw that there is a warning of "reference to clowns" and now i cant stop thinking about it
Might be a bit late on the scene, but Limbus Company is probably one of the most interesting Gacha's I played.
A fun fact: each chapter ends with a Sinner's VA singing the credits song "Pass On"
1) you should really give the april fools joke they made for the game a look too you should be able to recognize a lot in it XD
2) if the chracter lore interests you some more there are already videos of people explaining on what people the main characters are based off

3:09 everyone is evil. the question is how evil they are in this game
There are, and forever will be only 12 playable characters in this game. The skins are their versions from another possibility, or alternate universe. The moves showed in the trailers are their E.G.O basicaly ultimate skill

"Everything you said is wrong" 😂
Also, would you like to record a reaction for the Identity and E.G.O. trailers?
if you have a playlist or something then YESS get them sent over :D
@@georgieegames Yes, it on the PM's channel

Good lord I never paid attention to that first part of the limbus trailer and only just realized what was written there
The music of the first trailer is made by milli who has made countless songs for the previous game which is library of ruina.
The reaction to the content warning is always great, and PM absolutely means it. The "References to Traffic Incidents" always cracks me up because of the innocuous language, even if the actual content is horrifying.
Hey, btw there's a video that explains the book each sinner came from and the themes relating to the character. Check it out!

Gregor is from metamorphosis by franz kafka where gregor the main character turns into a giant cockroach
so about the thing about sinclair's promo ending part: he is referencing a character in this game's story that used him to ruin his life.
The Wings
Faust
Don Quixote
Hell Screen
The Stranger
Dream of a Red Chamber
Wuthering Heights
Moby Dick
Sin and Punishment
The Divine Comedy
Demian
The Odyssey (which definitively had a purpose)
The Metamorphosis
10/10 will gladly play forever
lol you're titling this as "AK Player" now? That's great to see the evolution from "Honkai player" :D
How content creators clickbait nowadays.
@@wolfafe it's effective and not a lie...
"Just watch him be a cannibal" well, that was an event-exclusive ID, but...
I realize half the warning list is perpetrated in canto 3 in an most brutal fashion I must say
"The evil organisation"
*Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down?*
Lobotomy corporation, then library of ruina, then limbus company
one of the content warnings is "reffrence to traffic acadents." i love pm.
Outis is from The Odyssey, her name is one Odysseus used while deceiving the cyclops. What was ‘nothing’, and the word for nothing being Outis.
6:39 Isnt cannibal gregor an actual identity?
I find that pretty funny
like other comment has explain , Limbus is the 3rd game of a whole chain of other games and manga and novel but you're not required to play the previous title to understand the game. If you play the previous game and read their novel and manga then it's gonna give you more context and enhance your experience but it's not needed and you can jump straight into limbus if you want and the game will give you more context over the time
bro got me dying when they said “I thought it was gonna be a wholesome gatcha” (considering the context of you know the previous games)
I always described this as Everything everywhere all at once for book nerds
Districts of hell is a surprisingly accurate description
21:45 you missed Heathcliff’s last line here
If you want to react to some limbus content i highly recommend Last Minute essay's video on all of the 12 sinners it was made right after we saw all of they're key visuals out
3:20 "the evil organization"
Do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down?
You should really stream yourself playing this game it would be really fun to see you learn about the city.
ye shes gonna live stream playing it on June 15
Nice video! Also try watching the character ID trailers and a summary video of Project Moon's previous 2 games, namely Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina.
It means clock his character design is that he’s a clock
