Any time a "news" report starts of with a smug title you can be sure a stitch-up is about to follow.

Busey, just wants to continue to think there isn't a problem in Gig Harbor

People from Tacoma hate paying the toll to cross the bridge 😂

Catering to the handful of people that are wealthy enough to live in gig harbor by giving them a segment on the news about how they’re better and don’t commit crimes then people who live in the inner city is disgusting. Good job reporting real news! Instead of what’s happening in the senate right now

The map at 1:56 is helpful. The yellow areas, having the fewest residents committing felony crimes in Gig Harbor are: North End Tacoma and Steilacoom. The highest concentration of residents who've committed felony crimes in Gig Harbor live east of I-5 and north of 512; and south of 6th Ave and east of Hwy 16. I don't think this is surprising.
Also, the dark orange island is McNeil Island where there is a Special Commitment Center (post-sentence treatment institution). Curious if that skews the data, i.e. when was their address information collected relative to when the crime was committed.

The title is kinda wrong though. Crime happening in Gig Harbor is, by your own verification map, due largely to criminals from Tacoma.. Just because they are not the sole cause, doesn't mean they're not heavily responsible.

Criminals tend to victimize their own communities because they are familiar with the patterns there. That’s why letting criminals off is actually not progressive - it’s regressive….it heaps additional burdens on at risk communities. Some runs over into affluent communities as well, but the criminals prey on the most vulnerable at a higher rate.

Gig Harbor has a prison. Just today on the bus, a woman was sharing that she just got out of prison at Purdy. And Gig Harbor has encampments. I tell you what I don't see in Gig Harbor: trash and broken glass everywhere.

The fact that this is even having to be addressed, shows the tribalism and division there is. 5 years ago it was the next country, now in 2023 it’s the next town, just across the bridge. My heart breaks for humanity.
