just wanted to ask someone with experience.. are angel fish as aggressive with other aquarium fish as people make out? For example, I keep a beta sorority, but people told me they would kill each other, but they don’t even bother each other, so I was wondering if there’s anything similar to this in regard to angelfish
@@tiffanyclark-grove1989 every fish is different. I keep angel fish with gouramis and they’re just fine. If you’re going to mix it up and if something does happen always have a plan b.

My mom is planning on getting a 40 gallon tank and she really loves angels, do you think she could get away with housing an Angel or two in a 40 gallon tank with a school of small tetras and maybe some corys ? Thanks in advance !
Hi there! How many angelfish can I have in a fully planted 75 gallon community tank (school of big black neons, some platies, and cories). Is 6 too many or fine?
i just bought 2 angelfish 3 days ago. after 2 days, one of them became very aggressive by nipping all of my fishes in the tank everytime they swim towards him/her. it also lip locking the other angelfish. is it territorial aggression or protecting eggs?! so i decided to transfer him/her in a separate tank.
@CichlidBros yeah. Thanks to your videos. I don't think I'll ever stop with aquariums. Buying a new home in 17 months. At least a 150 gallon is already in my budget. I know exactly how to set it up...thanks to you. Will continue watching your vids too!
Thank you for the great tips. I have 2 questions though. What should I do if my room temperature is between 80 to 90 F in the summer? 2nd, Why when I test my new aquarium water by API test kit, I get zero ammonia, zero Nitrite, and very high Nitrate (above 150)? What kind of fish do you recommend for my tank based on my temperature?
Depending on the type of Angel, depends on the wayer parameters. I use tap water to fill or exchange the Angel tank. The GH is high.. the ammonia is below 20 ppm and i have 4 maybe t decent sized live plants sharing their space within.. So far and after a month of owning them, they have grown at least 2x Thier size. Proper filtration and places to hide are key features one really needs to consider prior to buying these beautiful fish. Also, 80 degree water is about average.
I have one like yours in a 40 gallon cube with community fish. Noticed a couple times when doing bigger water changes he gets really aggressive. The last time a few weeks ago he killed 3 fish that night. Learned to do smaller water changes. Only fish he constantly picks on is a dwarf honey grammi. I don’t understand why?
Also how many adult angelfish in all can i put in an 80 gallon tank that i dont need to separate in the future..till now i have 4 juvenile of 7cm that are 3 marbles and 1 black...can i add more? I need them to still be here as there permanent home..
I started with 5 angels and the two big boys picked off 3 of them and remain. I’m scared to add any other cichlids or angels in case they kill them too.. stuck now and my 130litre tank feels light on fish :(
I've got a 55g community tank with denison barbs, praecox rainbows and 3 angelfish. I had the first angelfish, a tricolor, about 6 months before I added 2 juvenile phillipino blue zebras. The tricolor and the female blue zebra have paired off and the other blue zebra has the other side of the tank and there's occasionally squabbling but never any damage. I'm thinking about a female for the lonely blue zebra. What are the chances of being able to do that without starting world war 3?
Hi, i have a 55 gallon tank (120cm) currently with 5 denison barbs and 7 panda corydoras & Id love to have some angelfish in my tank. I dont want to take up the barbs swimming room since they are adult fish (10-12cm), which is why im thinking maybe just 2 angels? How many do you think would work best? Thanks
I love my angels they are some of the friendliest fish in any of my tanks, they will actually take pellets right from my hand, they successfully share a tank with my sevrums
So I have 4 angels I bought at nickel sized babies and now are all over silver dollar sized middle adults. The two wild type I saw a hint of orange on top in the store, now one has orange all over the top of the fish and is very nice. One of my gold marbles just turned bright orange on its head today, now it's orange and gold as well. A surprise color change already, didn't know orange marbles did exist ?. Maybe it changed color to mate with or something ?. I been feeding them blood worms and now, they are a little chubby mostly, the marbles are chunky. I also give them vibra bites and they munch those harder after some time, the feeding response grows. They are all aqua piggies, totally obsessed with feed time. I tell them just relax, buddy because you are over weight. I think they understand it now, that they are going on a diet and are going to get hangry. Mysis shrimps are okay and they seem to enjoy those more than blood. They are softer than blood worms, easier to digest maybe. They grew to full size faster than those dehdyrated sea monkeys, I gave them like two or three containers of food and bam, full grown slobs. I miss them as babies, but they are pretty now. I read it can take 3-4 years for them to get big, if you feed them a lot and do water changes then it can be like 1-2 years and they're big in my experience. They filled a 29 gallon in no time and are already in need of a 55. That means I have to get rid of the 29 and good thing I got the 55 stand. I just did not want to move them, it could kill them worse case thing. Once, I lost a gorgeous blue african peacock, the most beautiful freshwater fish I ever had and all I did was move them once into a bucket. My girlfriend was trying not to laugh, at this moment I thought she was evil and she kind of is. She's laughing at a fish that died, she should be punished. It was one of those situations of woops...the fish had a heart attack ?. I kind of learned 1, not to move the fish , 2 don't even mess with the fish. 3, get another woman who refuses to laugh at death, like a post apocalyptic psycho Furiosa. She can't really but she never understood she's not a superhero, she thinks she can fight men but no she can't fight with me, because I won't allow that to happen and that's it. The rest of you guys let her dominate your species with her aggro.
i plan on having a pair of anglesifh in my 66 gallons, would it be possible for me to have any other fish in there as well? or would it be too crammed?
I love your videos...your deeper substrate of sand as well is what really helps become it's own filter and keeps your plants happy and fish as well... ammonia and nitrates are processed through it...nitrites are nutrients in your water that plants need n love and they can run high w out harming your fish...I haven't even done a water change in three months just add due too evaporation and zero ammonia zero nitrates n around 40ppm nitrites...been watching father fish a bit n he's right when he says biology is what ya should follow n my water has been great w happy fish n plants.
I've got a 29 tall and a baby angel 😇 he seems a bit skittish compared to how he was in the store. Question: do they need to be in pairs or can they be alone? I've read different things ..
Hi! I'm new into angel fish. I was getting concerned about 2 of my angel's dorsal fin getting pointy by closing and it opens up. I aw yours do the same. I had a few others that did that and they died. I definitely don't want that to happen this time around. They're beautiful. I have 8 in a 20 gallon and 6 are about 2 inches and 2 are about 2.5 inches. I have 5 small catfish. One is 2 inches and 4 are about 1 inch. I have plants, 1 40 and 1 20 gallon spon sponge filter. I do water changes once per week and sometimes twice. Hopefully within the next 30 days I'm gonna have built a 75 gallon double stand. I already have the aquariums and sponge filters. I even have canister filters if I go that route but the sponge filters seem cooler. I hope can make it all happen.
I have a 36 gallon tank and was told I would be fine with an angel fish and to just watch out for my tetras to attack the angel fish. Anyone have any other advice?
Not sure if anyone noticed but south american angels seem closely related to a black crappie, but they are cichlids ?. The marbles remind me of a black crappie, a little bit. Think crappie are more aggressive fish. Not sure how they can be completely unrelated.
If you introduce both angelfish and severum together while they're young, chances are there would be no problem. But everything depends upon personality. Veiltail angelfish are more docile and platinums are more on aggression. I've 8 angelfish and 3 severum. Only 1 platinum angelfish chases severums but I don't think it's a big problem as angelfish can't harm a full grown severum

Could you right the name of the food to get 4 the angel fish thank you very much.

i plan on having a pair of anglesifh in my 66 gallons, would it be possible for me to have any other fish in there as well? or would it be too crammed?
Yep, you could definitely add some smaller community fish
@@CichlidBros would some platies work?
@@bloodyhell3769 yep, most likely
I love your videos...your deeper substrate of sand as well is what really helps become it's own filter and keeps your plants happy and fish as well... ammonia and nitrates are processed through it...nitrites are nutrients in your water that plants need n love and they can run high w out harming your fish...I haven't even done a water change in three months just add due too evaporation and zero ammonia zero nitrates n around 40ppm nitrites...been watching father fish a bit n he's right when he says biology is what ya should follow n my water has been great w happy fish n plants.
My one angel looks a bit swollen. Almost a puffy cheeks kinda look. Still coming out to eat and over all has normal behavior. What can it be?
I got a 47 gallon tall. Would 3 be to many?
What is that yellow fish at 2:05 on the left?
Is a 40 gallon breeder sufficient for 1 angel fish
I've got a 29 tall and a baby angel 😇 he seems a bit skittish compared to how he was in the store. Question: do they need to be in pairs or can they be alone? I've read different things ..
They should do fine solo
What is the name of the yellow fish at the 7:46 mark of this video please? Love the markings & color. Thanks
Apistogramma macmasteri
Do angel fish get stuck on hard plastic plants a lot? I have a big plastic purple plant and I’m kinda worried it might harm my angelfish.
Should be fine. Angels are great with live plants too tho!
@@CichlidBros thank you! I will be sure to check out some live plants and I will replace the purple plant with live plants.
Good idea to get a bigger tank
Have you tried keeping Bolivian Rams with Angelfish? What about Serpae Tetras?
Rams would likely work. Serpaes can be fin nippers with angels
Can angels live in a 20g?
What kind or brand sand do you use?
Crystal river sand from carib sea in this tank
how many Angelfish can be kept in a 75g with just a cleanup crew?
probably 6-10ish
I have a 36 gallon tank and was told I would be fine with an angel fish and to just watch out for my tetras to attack the angel fish. Anyone have any other advice?
What type of tetra??
How does the severum do with plants
Not well. They eat plants
Can u keep different types of Angles in the same tank
Yep. Sometimes angels will be slightly more aggressive towards each other though
Not sure if anyone noticed but south american angels seem closely related to a black crappie, but they are cichlids ?. The marbles remind me of a black crappie, a little bit.
Think crappie are more aggressive fish. Not sure how they can be completely unrelated.
I have a 29 gal tank that's not good for 2 Angel's?
Wait I have a question can anglefish go with severums, I definitely know the bigger aggressive cichlids like oscars for example are not allowed.
Usually it will be fine, although severums could bully them some. I wouldn’t do it in anything under 75 gallons though
@@CichlidBros oh cool thanks for the info, I always thought severums where like gentle giants. What about the hybrid parrot cichlids?
If you introduce both angelfish and severum together while they're young, chances are there would be no problem. But everything depends upon personality. Veiltail angelfish are more docile and platinums are more on aggression. I've 8 angelfish and 3 severum. Only 1 platinum angelfish chases severums but I don't think it's a big problem as angelfish can't harm a full grown severum
Where did you buy your denison( roseline)?
Half from Discuss Madness, half from imperial tropicals, both online
Can be kept with goldfish
Can someone tell me what fish is at 1:11? I never saw it. Thank you
An arowana
Any suggestions
How would I introduce a new angel fish without getting my own Killed?
Had to watch it again. I live my angels and don't want anything happening to them
Thanks for watching!
40 gal breeder better than 40gal long?
I like the 40 Breeder better
💛💚💙💛💚💙
I asked how long they live and nothing was said about that, although everything else was well covered. 😢
They can live over 10 years with the right care!
