Harvest Moon and/or Needle And The Damage Done, both from his appearance on MTV's Unplugged from February, 1993. Both performances are fantastic and both are really special songs. You'll love Harvest Moon.
Every time I see this video I drool over that guitar..It's a Martin D-45, the Creme De la Creme of acoustic guitars...Just listen to that thing!..Btw, this song is such a classic that it is almost immediately recognizable the world over..So, you know it's the first time this audience is hearing it, or they would have applauded at the first chord struck...I'm pretty sure this performance is '71.
It is a beautiful guitar. I once read that his favorite D-45 was around a '67 or '68 model, so it essentially sounds the same as a D-28 from the same era. both used the same construction, same materials and same design. The only difference was that the 45 got more ornamentation, gold tuning keys, lots of beautiful pearl inlay work and that sort of stuff. Both were still being made with the Brazilian Rosewood backs and sides back then. That's no longer true, the modern D-28 and D-45 sound quite different and are constructed differently. Of course the D-45 (in the new HD-45 version) is still the top of the line production guitar for Martin. It may not have sounded different than the D-28 back then, but it was still an impressive showpiece of Martin's craftsmanship, and certainly a guitar worth drooling over. I bought a 1965 D12-35 (the 12 string D-35) in 1969. I liked the heavier bass the three piece back gave it, preferred the tonal balance for my style of playing. I still have it and love it!
@@ptournas I'm not that well versed in all the different builds. All I know is I'm not above loving the ornamentation on the D 45, and how the sound just fills the room, when he's playing it..I'm sure the same era 28 will have a similar affect on my sensibilities, such as they are, as The 45.
Neil Young IS one of the single greatest singer/songwriters in the history of rock and roll. Had the good fortune to see him four times in concert, each one was different and equally amazing. He just stomps around the stage with authority, especially when he has the band Crazy Horse backing him up. Check out his concert video "Rust Never Sleeps", Neil Young at his peak, and you get the Road-Eyes. Two hours of great music and tons o' talent on display.
It’s so much fun to watch two young people listening to one of my heroes. I was about 20 when I first heard this. I’m now 72. I still love the song, but I must admit that its meaning has changed for me. I just discovered your your channel when I clicked on Blazing Saddles. I’m now a subscriber.
That voice, no other like it. I remember Live Aid, a failed benefit concert in the 80s(?), all of these bands coming out and posing and sucking, then Neil comes out, by himself, in blue Jean's and a white tshirt and an acoustic guitar and proceeded to completely blow the other bands away.
You're such an adorable couple. I enjoy your reactions. It warms my heart that young people are still enjoying the music of decades ago. Keeping the music alive. Thank you!
Legendary Canadian born singer songwriter. Amazing! Have seen him live 4 times here in Canada over the years. This performance is from 1971..Just a super talent and his guitar. Old Man would appear on his 1972 #1 album Harvest. A brilliant album! 😎🎼🎵🎶🇨🇦🇨🇦
Neil Young is a genius. You can't go wrong entering his rabbit hole. His groups and single career are masterpieces. Great Doc on him a well Check out James Taylor. Another great story teller, guitarist and musician
Yeah Kae really gets it here. I can see that. Kae is just so happy listening and singing along. I love watching him be happy. Kae loves this song. This is by far my favorite reaction video. You are a special person Kae.
One of Neil's most under rated and underappreciated songs is titled Let's Roll. These are tge last recorded words from the passengers of Flight 93 on 9-11-2001, when the passengers revolted against the high jackers and the plane crashed in Pennsylvania, killing all aboard, but saving untold lives.
If you want to hear a song by Neil Young that will make you cry because of the tragedy it talks about please listen to the song named Ohio. In 1968 National Guard members shot into a group of students killing 4. What if you knew her and found her dead on the ground, how can you run when you know? All these years later it still makes me cry. 😭 With respect always, Brant Heavner
Love watching these young people getting turned on to these classics..I had the same feeling that you had all those years ago when I first heard this..peace to you both
I know you said you don't like haters you don't want to hateful comments but I have to say as a 63-year-old white man I hate the fact that you guys are so awesome and you appreciate all music keep it up you're doing awesome
Young people explore the amazing music of my youth - 1967-1977! Will blow your mind! (Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, YES, Steely Dan, Doobies, Allman Brothers, Stevie Ray V, and a thousand other true artists!)
You guys got to do some "Neil Diamond"! No Lie he has a hip African/Gospel Beat that is like no other.........Please Look Into "Cherry, Cherry", "Solitary Man", "Cracklin Rosey" and "Kentucky Women" as starters.
HA HA HA . I LOVE TO SEE THE YOUNG GENERATION EXPLORE MUSIC I WAS RAISED ON HEARING. ❤❤❤ KEEP ON LISTENING ... KEEP ON LEARNING! NEVER STOP LEARNING. P.S. I HOPE YOU PRETTY COUPLE GET MARRIED AND HAVE THAT HOME ... I WISH I COULD HELP. BUT I AM ON A FIXED BUDGET. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH. 🙏👵
See? The guy can't head bop like her. That's because she has in her genes the ability to bop that neck longer to accept more rings around her African neck, until stretched like a giraffe!
You guys are so cute together, however I don't think you "get it",you have to listen to the words go deep, then visit this around every couple of years . You will understand🙏❤️
It's just so much fun watching young people who love music ,discover super talent like Neil. Don't be afraid to go down this rabbitt hole guys.
As you have said a few times Kae , that's what you call real music. Just a guitar , a story to tell & a voice to sing it ! Live !
Ikr give one man a guitar and a mic and he’ll give those people what they paid for
NEIL YOUNG "HEART OF GOLD" FROM THIS SAME PERFORMANCE.
Harvest Moon and/or Needle And The Damage Done, both from his appearance on MTV's Unplugged from February, 1993. Both performances are fantastic and both are really special songs. You'll love Harvest Moon.

Neil Young also wrote my favorite Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young song, "Ohio."
One April morning,I awoke with Ohio ringing in my head.

Neil Young, Canadian icon...
Such an incredible artist! Love him. Always have, always will.
Neil Young has had a great long career ! Always did his own thing ! I love the way he jams out on the electric guitar.
True skill and talent when someone sits down and sings while playing guitar live and sounds like this!
Neil Young is a genius songwriter! 2nd to none!
He is so chill.

Young people rule! Love the emotion guys. Neil has a heart of gold and so do you
I'm 57 years old and grew up with this music and I always enjoy seeing young people loving this music as much as I still do.
That voice, no other like it.

Very proud Canadian. Love him.

@@TheNoncritical1 thank you for reminding me. I was a young boy and for some reason over the years I thought it actually happened in 1968
It was in 1970.
@@mikehasit wow that's right 👍 They say that the mind goes first.
That's some intricate shit he's playing on that acoustic guitar, while singing, no less.

Neil is now in his mid 70s. He was a chameleon. Heavy rock, Country rock,
the Godfather of Grunge as named by Eddy Vedder
Guitar is sooo complete
Harvest Moon is a killer album.
Invest into a couple headphones...you'll be amazed on how much better the music sounds!

He does a song called OHIO. You need to see it.
And Heart of Gold.
Pearl Jam dubbed him the grandfather of grunge
You don't really have to bob around continuously and not groove to the vibe. Feel the music, for real.
Everybody does the unplugged version you got to listen to the original
don't take it wrong brother. But you gf she's really beautiful look and take care of her.

Please do Linda Ronstadt ..HEATWAVE...LIVE..
What a vibe, now you've been exposed to some quality tunage
This song is so much better with a band and the other instruments that really fill this sound in.
As a older person (52) it warms my heart to see young people “get” music I came up on 🥹🖤
You cut him off girl. I wanted to hear what he had to say about this song 🎵.
You need to hear Ohio by him
Especially nice to see people of colour react to good quality music, instead of the crap they are brought up with.
Y'alls music is so crap. Jungle junk. Glad you heard something of quality from this continent.
Oh Lord! At 2:45 the head-bobbers kick into action. Faking that they even like this, just to get some money off UA-cam.
See? The guy can't head bop like her. That's because she has in her genes the ability to bop that neck longer to accept more rings around her African neck, until stretched like a giraffe!
…lesson 4 u:…don’t b a terrorist…
You know...we can't hear you...
You guys are so cute together, however I don't think you "get it",you have to listen to the words go deep, then visit this around every couple of years . You will understand🙏❤️
“Old Man” In a biblical sense Is male and female. Everyone..
only a man and a guitar
Except too bad they had to react to this...should have done live 4 way street album and listen to Carry On
BBC isn't a news channel it's the British Broadcasting Corporation which is the national broadcaster of the United Kingdom.
Why are you reacting to the same song again?
Yurn rhis ip and listy
You take peoples money and dont do their requests. Thats fraud.
A song thought through is not an honest song.
