- We compare our Yamaha Tenere 700 next to each other. Both bikes has the same modifications. The white T7 is lowered 6 cms with Hyperpro fron springs and rear links and the lower OEM saddle. The driver has lenght of 165 cms and inseam of 75 cms. The blue one has standard hight.
Detailed zoom with the result.
Well done. No other videos have been down in comparison - I am intending to get t700 - I am 165. This is so helpful. Thanks much
As I have the same exact height, any updates my friend?
same here. 166 and in love with tenere 700. How was your experiecne.???? I am even planning to swap the stock wheels so a 17 and 18 with same pirelli rally str tires giving me extra 1 or 2 inches for adventure riding and then also a set of 17 and 17 super moto set up for every day city riding.
Thank you for the video! I just bought a 2023 Tenere and am short like your wife so I've been searching for ways to lower the bike.
I have ridden about 200km (mostly 2nd class roads and highway) with Hyperpro front springs installed and must confirm that the improvement of bike stability (planted and sure footed) as well as the ability to absorb small bumps and fork dive (when braking) is on much higher level. Safer to ride and more fun due to a better feedback. Best upgrade for the money. Definitely recommended.
Thanks! Very clear! Just lowered my T7 although I'm 178cm, just to help me when off-road becomes challenging
Are you standing on both feet when you are on the street ?
Thank you! I think with my 1.75cm standart t700 - 👍👍👍
Thank you sir , im 1.60 cm after show ur video I have a confident to get this bike thank you
Thanks for the video! My stature is 1.65 cm. I am in love with the Tenere 700 and was giving up on this dream due to the height. On the internet I saw the possibility of replacing the original springs with those of the HYPERPRO, but I could not find any reviews. Not even the dealers have found the solution. I will often travel as a couple with my partner and I will not do challenging off road. Thanks and good way! I subscribed to your channel! :-) :-) :-)
Never give up on the dream! I'm a girl of 1.57cm and also dreaming of a Tenere 700, we'll get there if we want it enough 😁
Has any of you tried it yet?
Great Comparison Video .................... So to clarify all the changes to Janny's T7............. 1 - You moved the front forks UP the triple clamp ( HOW MUCH IS NOW EXPOSED - 25 cm - 1 inch ) .......... 2 - You changed the front springs to Hyperpro springs ( WHAT PART NUMBER ? )............. 3 - you installed Hyper Pro Rear Links ( HOW LONG? ) AND you changed the seat to a lower saddle ................ I will shorten both Center and Side stand to fit............
It is the lowering set of Hyperpro they used our bikes as sample as we had the first. When you surch on hyperpro website you will find it.
Thank you, that was great! 🎉
Wow super bedankt voor de video.
Dit heeft mij super goed geholpen thanks.
Thank you guys :)
Thanks - good to see this option for riders with a shorter inseam. Did you also swap out the side stand?
I did lowered links but the OEM side stand now keeps the bike too upright. Trying to fit the Rally Raid lowered side stand, but the centre stand is preventing me from doing it, will need to remove the left side so that I can get to the rear hex key bolts on the side stand.
We cut the side stand and shortend it and welded the standfeet back.
@@OumboukTravelAdventures Good idea
Awesome comparison
Thank you so much for sharing thi
Thank you for helpfull video.
Interesting and nice video! Thanks and enjoy!
Great info,thank you!
thanks for this video :) enjoy the bike
Hi there and tanks for a Great video, i dont quite understand from the video,if you changed the front shocks or did you lower the original shocks 20mm ...???
// Jonas 🙂
The front springs are from hyperpro lowering set
Thanks!!!! Very helpful!!
thank you, helped so much
Thanks for the great video. I have a question regarding the moto with the lowering links. Which brand center stand do you have on it and is there any difficulty getting it up on the center stand since it now has been lowered?
Thanks for comment. The center stand is OEM Yamaha. With this lowering it is bit more difficult but one person can do it.
I was wondering about Touratech (made by Hyperbro suspensions, of Holland, for Touratech)lowering spring, with lowering link. If I am correct, these springs keep the bike at the same height but, with weight, compress easily at first, but thereafter become, progressively, stiffer for the same performance as the standard. springs. It lowers the bike by 35mm, with no adjustment of the front fork clamping. With lowering seat you can obtain another 20mm to a total of 55mm, lowering the tenere700 to 820mm, from 875mm. Touratech even claims enhanced performance, over the standard. Has anyone experience of this?
Thanks for the info, is the wifey happy with the handling of the T7 after lowering ? did it perform ok after loading it up with weight ?
Greetings from philippines.
How about the side stand did you change it?
If yes? What brand is that?
We cut it and weld the feet back again
Very nice video, what is the rider’s height?
165 cm
Hi. great video. can you clarify if the front springs lower the suspension travel?
No the suspension remain original lenght
@@OumboukTravelAdventures great. thank you :)
Hello, I to am planning on lowering my T7 and find this video very useful. I have a question if you don’t mind? Which make a Janny’s hand guard please? Thank you, Jonathan
Thanks for your comment. The hand guards are SWMotech made nu Barkbuster.
@@OumboukTravelAdventures hi, thank you for your reply. I shall look out the part numbers tomorrow, have a great evening, Jonathan
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 so helpful
Top, great !
Hello, can you give me the link where I can buy the short side stand, thank you.
We cut the Standard ourselves
Thank you @@OumboukTravelAdventures
Should be same as Touratech kit?? If you maintained full suspension, should not the height stance, except when sitting on the bike, remained the same?? Why Is the bike, visibly, significantly lower, with out rider sitting on the bike??
The bike is lowered with still full suspension
@@OumboukTravelAdventures yes,but why is it visibly lower when compared to the standard bike. Without a rider sitting on the bikes, they should be of same height. Then when someone sits on the one with progressive lowering springs, then the bike will sit lower, and not without rider
@@davidmallia628 the bike is lower. But with the springs has the same suspension.
@@OumboukTravelAdventures ok, now I understand. I had the wrong impression, then.
Hello, i have a question, when you lowered your wife’s bike 2 cm in the front forks it was de lower stock plus 2 cm (0.5 cm + 2 cm) or it was 2 cm (0.5 cm stock + 1.5 cm)..
Thks and ride safe.
Thanks for reply but do not understand your question
Ok sorry.. so when you lower the bike 2 cm in the front you counted the existing stock lowering (from the factory) that is 0.5 cm ?
@@enriquesilva5033 i still not understand. Lowered by hyperpro set. Front springs and rear links plus lowered seat. Total 6 cms. The front fork has been put down . All done by hyperpro technician.
@@OumboukTravelAdventures ok no prob thought u did it yourself ! Thanks ;)
hi did you use the lowering link from Yamaha store?
No we used Hyperpro links
Did you just lower the forks or did you also mount shorter springs?
The Hyperpro set concist and other front springs
Is the Hyperpro SP-YA07-SLS027 kit what you used to lower the bike? Thanks
As our bikes where the first in Netherlands hyperpro used our bikes for making the lowering set. And yes this is the set
How does this lowering kit affect those that have a center stand is it hard to use?
With 6 cm lowered it is bit more work to put on the center stand but not a real problem.
maybe a stupid question but do you consider inseam from crotch to the floor or until the end of the the ankle?
From the floor
@@OumboukTravelAdventures thank you for the answer. What is your inseam. I'm 32" and I'm balls of my feet but can't decide if lowering wouldn't have a negative effect on suspension. Do you feel any negative experience on suspension after loading?
@@user-ht3uo9ir6m the lowering has no effect on riding
Did you need to change the side stand? Thanks
Yes we cut it and weld together again
Did you fit the lower links yourself after the bike had the OEM centre stand? I've just ordered the lowering links from Rally Raid (£20 whereas OEM are £70) and I can see the OEM centre stand needs removing before you can remove the bolts from the standard links. I think I saw a video of you removing the whole shock/spring but wonder whether removing the whole centre stand might be easier (4 bolts - 2 each side and don't have to remove the springs!). Rally Raid just suggest sliding the front forks through the triple clamps by 10mm to balance both ends.
Thanks for your reply. You can also remove the center stand. Then your shock can stay on. We lowered front 2 cm to be in balance. But that was done by the shock expert.
@@OumboukTravelAdventures Thanks for that. I had to smile when I watched the video as both my wife and I ride our own bikes. Gill currently has a Tiger 800 but is keen to swop. She did want a Multistrada 950 but even with the lower seat it was too tall and she is 170cm. Ducati are losing a lot of sales. She might buy a KTM 890 Adv although I don’t think the build quality is as good as the Yamaha. I am also 170cm which is why I need the low seat and probably the lowering links too. What other bikes have you had? I previously had an Africa Twin and before that a Multistrada 1200. Height was no problem with low seats.
Hi, can you post a link to the products?
Must go to hyperpro website tot can find it under Tenere 700
So you changed the back and front springs only or did you change the links also? Because on Hyperpro website it mentions a lowering of 4cms only… how did you get 6?
@@PauloSantos-v6w yes another two with the links
Perfect! And the links are oem or any aftermarket brand? Thank you for your help!🙏
And did you replace also the side kick?
👍🏼
hello, what kit did you use to lower the bike?
The hyperpro kit. Check the website of hyperpro
@@OumboukTravelAdventures you have de combi kit springs? front and rear lowering springs? im check de hyperpro kit
@@scastilho8586 yes correct front springs and back links.
Hi. Very interesting video. May I ask how much she weighs and what's the seat height with your wife mounted on the bike?
Thanks for comment. The weight is 61 lbs and seat hight 82 cm
@@OumboukTravelAdventures So the seat height drops down to 82 cm when she sits on the bike?
@@erikhedin4474 no seat hight 82 cm. Even she sits on the bike little lower but that we have not measured
@@OumboukTravelAdventures Okay. The seat height measure while your wife sitting on the bike would be interesting. When I convert 61 lbs to kg online I get 27 kg and that can't be correct. Your wife must weigh more than that 😀
@@erikhedin4474 she is 61 kilograms
One question please. Did it lower back with a spring change or just a link change? And a second question. Has the bike been lowered just to the saddle height or has the engine also been lowered? Thanks
Only saddle and the set consist of only links die behind
@@OumboukTravelAdventures Thanks
bad presentation😊
Maybe it was not a good idea to buy a T7 for your wife, aT7 with 18 cm ground clearance is a non sense it's like now a street bike you cannot go for offroad 😢😢
We are not hardcore enduro riders. We have more then 150000 km travelled all with this ground clearance. This is for us ok that means that it is not for all ok .
@@OumboukTravelAdventures enjoy your ride 😎
@@OumboukTravelAdventures I hear you, however for those who are vertically challanged and ride on rough or bad roads (f.e. Eastern Europe) and spend only a little time riding more technical off road, this is a great solution.
Im curious,
You still riding the T7's?
Would it not be easier to buy VStrom 250's?
No the T7 will stay for many more years
