    Throwing it out there, it is normal for the links to have some side to side (port to starboard relative the bike) play. They will not be snug against the swing arm or linkage arm. So if you have the weight off the wheel and notice the slack, don't worry about it like I did :D

    Late to this party but i wanted to adk of the tire hits the inner wheel well in the rear gpimg the full 30mm.
    I used to own a 2006 TE610 that i put kouba links on and my tire ate the stock rear fender but did not contact the wheel well so a fender eliminator kit solved it.
    I'm 5ft 4in so riding larger off road bikes is always a challenge, and any bit helps.
    Ive tried lowering by reducing travel but never never like it, i like to ride pretty quick off road and need the travel and setup to be correct for me.
    Id like to get one of these, the price is good leaving room for suspension mods in the budget.
    With a good set of forks and a new shock this bike seems like it would be a great desert weapon!

      The rear tire won't hit the fender...
      Just a note: we don't sell this part anymore, we've replaced it with the much more versatile variable height lowering link. This way you can lower it 30mm or, a compromise of 12mm - you can even raise it if you get so bold 😎
      You can find the variable height link here: www.altrider.com/altrider-variable-height-suspension-lowering-links-for-the-yamaha-tenere-700/pid/3380/cid/1

    Enjoy all your tips through video... So Question, is the 30mm mentioned the amount the seat will be lowered?? And when lowering the triple tree, how much additional lowering of the seat will take place ??? This might allow for the purchase of a softer taller seat.. THANKS!

    • @AltRiderLLC
      @AltRiderLLC  2 роки тому +1

      Lowering the triple tree will lower your seat some, but I don't have exact data on that, and it of course depends on how much you lower the triple tree. Additionally, because the seat is pretty close to the back of the bike (where it has already been lowered), the seat won't go much lower after the triple tree has been lowered.

    Does Alt Rider make a shorter kickstand to compensate for the lowered height?

      We sure do! Our Adjustable kick stand can be set to a lower, or higher for full flexibility with suspension modification. You can preorder today and its expect to be shipping in about 2 months: www.altrider.com/altrider-adjustable-aluminum-side-stand-for-yamaha-tenere-700/pid/3377

    Is it possible to do the install with the bike up on its center stand instead of on a jack?

    • @AltRiderLLC
      @AltRiderLLC  2 роки тому +1

      Honestly we never did test it with a center stand but you do not need a center stand nor a jack as you replace one side of the linkage at a time and being on the kickstand allows you to use the ground to help lift the rear suspension for reinserting the bolts, but it would be certainly doable using the center stand as long as you can access both of the linkage bolts.

    Can you confirm that it is compatible with the 2023 bike in Canada. Sounds like a silly question but I discovered that the 23 version has a wider chain than last year and I'm curious if there are any other changes I'm not aware of. Thanks.

      The suspension links are still the same, so they'll work...

    How are you raising one fork tube at a time if it's still connected to the front wheel or did I miss something?

    • @AltRiderLLC
      @AltRiderLLC  2 роки тому +2

      Try raising one fork, you'll see, its not tough. The bike will be unbalanced for a second, but as soon as line up the second fork with the first you're good to tighten it all up and test if that's how you want it set up...

    What will be the seat height after installing the lowering kit to lowest and with factory low seat.
    Stock seat is 870mm tall. What will be seat height post adding all the above ?

    • @AltRiderLLC
      @AltRiderLLC  Рік тому

      We don't offer these any longer, they've been replaced by our variable height suspension links - they have 2 lowered options and 1 raised option: www.altrider.com/altrider-variable-height-suspension-lowering-links-for-the-yamaha-tenere-700/pid/3380/cid/1
      The 3 height settings for our new variable height suspension links lowered 30mm, lowered 18mm, or raised 12mm.
      So to figure out your seat height add or subtract the amount you're using to the 870mm. If you're on the 30mm lowered setting, your seat height would be 840mm.

      @@AltRiderLLC so lowering 30 mm + 20 mm low seat will make the t7 50mm lower than stock to 820mm. Pretty good.

    Hi
    what did you end up lowering the forks to with your set of lowering links ( to get close to neutral as you call it) ??
    answer should be an extra ------mm .

      He pointed to the max area where you can lower it. So i’m guessing 20mm? I’m not sure as well and i wanna know since i’m getting these links as well

    • @northof49adv
      @northof49adv 2 роки тому +4

      Here is a beginning of an answer:
      the links i got lower the bike by 18 mm , I lowered the forks by an extra 5 mm , for a total of 12mm from the top of the forks (7 mm from stock + 5mm)
      I still get the better for high speed feel instead of the very flickable from 1 side to the other feel.
      I am gonna try an extra 3 mm for a total of 15 and see how it goes.
