I was a soldier in Israel 2012-2013 in the Givati brigade. Everyone had the Micro Tavor including myself. That weapon is straight out of halo. Such an amazing platform. The way you can swivle and manipulate it in very tight spaces and still hit targets 400m out on a dime. Did I mention it is as tough as nails? This weapon needs no coddling, it just performs. I will be getting the x95 very soon!

I finished my IDF service in 2009. At the time nearly everyone save the Givati brigade was still using M16s/M4s as standard. A transfer from Givati to my unit on my 2nd to last day was allowed to bring his tavor with him. I fell in love with the gun at first sight, unfortunately, I never got to fire one. Now they are pretty much ubiquitous in front line units. If I ever get back to the US, I so plan on getting an x95.

Tim, I got an X95 but I'm a lefty. Sent it off to Copper Customs for the conversion. Phenomenal customer service. Had the rifle back in under two weeks and it works flawlessly. Great work!
+nochitlins I can see that. I think the rear end looks a little bland (I like the swoopy lines of the Tavor) but overall I think it's a great looking rifle.

One of the things I always appreciate with your videos is that you address us left-handed shooters. How difficult is it to convert the new X95 to left handed eject and what is the approximate cost of a left handed bolt?
Hey Mac, I was looking for an optic like the one on the X95 for around that price and it'd be super awesome if you could maybe do a review (or torture test) on it sometime. I really like the channel by the way, real quality stuff.
A good sling option is to look online for an actual military issue IDF sling. I brought one back from Israel with me and bought a couple more online (gotta look around.) The genuine article has a seatbelt-type strap, wide and extremely comfortable, distributes the weight well and is quite rugged. The clips are metal with some kind of cerakote finish, and not a cheap backpack clip either. Overall a premium sling and is certainly the best two point sling I've ever seen. I'm currently getting enough of them to put on all of my rifles
+alaskajohn907 Yep, good sling. I have one on the Evo3. There's the problem though. The US X95 has fullsized 1.25" swivels. So the little metal clips of the original IDF sling scrape up and down the big swivel and cause a mess. I wish I had some smaller studs to put on the X95 instead so the IDF sling would fit properly.
I think I watched one, maybe two videos on the X95 before deciding I wanted one. I didn’t go looking for it, but boy did I find it. One trip to the range, and I’ve pretty much decided to not use my AR anymore outside of practice for small arms qualification. It’s the rifle I take anytime and anywhere.
Bought an X95 a few weeks ago and love it. As a lefty, I can shoot in it's "shelf" (RH) configuration. But, I couldn't snuggle up to the stock as intimately as I like, without taking brass to the chin. So, I was pulling my hair out trying to find a LH bolt. After several inquiries to IWI and absolutely no response, I decided to check out Copper Customs. I emailed and got a response from (can't remember his name) who told me to give him a call. I did, ordered and no more than two days later, I have a LH X95. Very pleased with this rifle and moreover, Copper Custom Armament.
The thorough video you did on the Tavor helped solidify my purchase over a year ago and, after watching this, I might be sold on the X95. The additional sling mount, the slimmer feel, lighter trigger, and the rail system look like huge improvements. I'm not sold on the mag release though, I love that trigger on my Tavor.

+FuinOhtar LoL, what an unimpressive rifle. With that much open gaps and slots, no wonder IDF complains about it jamming and prefer M4s. Like Argularguy said, all hype, walk away.
lol "open gaps and slots"---shows what you know about firearms. The reason the IDF went with Tavors and not M4's is because they rarely ever jam, even up against water, mud, etc and after firing thousands of rounds without cleaning. The X95 epitomizes the phrase "function over form". Being too expensive for American consumers is not of concern to IWI.
IWI has a functional weapon used everyday in wartime conditions. They have to get it right the first time because everyone else in the region is looking to kill them.

Mac, I just wanna say, "thanks for abusing things!" LOL! That way, we know how they're pretty much gonna run under less-than-favorable conditions. Had my US Army issued M-16A2 fail on me once (and get me "killed," when I absolutely had the drop on the guy and *should* have been able to "kill" him), on an "escape and evasion" course in Germany... I just had no way of keeping it clean under the combat conditions (on the move) I was training in at the time. From then on, I was an "AK guy," when it came to my personal battery... The M70-AB2 I ended up buying, later, had no such "reliability" issues! Looks like this X-95 may just bring me back into the ".223/5.56 fold," but we'll see... Thanks SO much for your videos!! 🖒😎
Wow! These are HUGE mods which seem to be VERY well considered and carried out. The "long reach" charging handle on the Tavor always felt awkward to me; I'm especially glad they've changed that.
Thanks again MAC for the work you do. Made my choice of purchasing an orginal Tavor SAR for 1099.00 a no brainer from Palmetto state...what a steal. thanks again.
I got the same deal! Crazy price on this thing from PSA, I've been eyeballing it for a while and haven't seen it new for less than $1,400.00. I had this purchased less than three minutes after getting the email from PSA. The only difference is it looks like his is 16 inch and the one we got is 18.
Having fired the X-95, it has addressed essentially every concern I had regarding the original Tavor. It's OEM trigger, now, is very usable for most people, in most situations, right out of the box... and more importantly, the magazine release is located where it should be. I was always afraid that the trigger release, being located where it was on the Tavor, could be prone to possible inadvertent/accidental magazine release, even by large, gloved hands in cold environments. The improved design of the rail system (there if you need it, covered if you don't) is "icing on the cake". For a SHTF/EOW design, nothing can or will beat an AR-15, simply because of ubiquity, parts availability and ability for said parts to be obtained, bought, sold, or traded, for a long, long time to come. Taking a SHTF/EOW scenario out of consideration, if you like want a quality bullpup design, I don't see it getting much better than the IWI X-95 and I'm buying one, at least. When the .300 Blackout conversion kits becomes available, feral hog hunters are going to be in... well... "hog heaven".
Can't believe how quiet it is and very little recoil. I wonder what the range of the weapon is. I'm thinking effective range around 300 metres. Very nice rifle
I finnally got one two days ago! This thing is beautiful, its and FDE X95 just like the one in the video! I traded a lefted handed AR15 with an EOTech 557 and Gen2 magnifier, an M44 Mosin-Nagant, and a gen1 XD9SC plus $750 out of pocket for my X95. So now in addition to the X95 I still own 1 AR15 SPR build, 1 Henry .22 lever action, one 870 Tactical, and 1 custom 10/22 with tacsol barrel ect. The X95 seems a bit on the heavy side but I love the compact size, the color, the integrated BUIS with tritum front sight, the AR mag compatibility, the controls/ergos. I won't be able shoot it for a couple weeks but so far I'm really excited for this rifle, eventually I'll get a TRU-DOT RDS for it.
Why would you say this Jared Davis? There is no justification for apartheid states or commiting a slow motion genocide, especially not against a population with no military weapons and an age demographic of 40%+ 14 years or younger...... The religion inspired genocide of the Palestinians is no different than the pogroms waged against the Jews in the Diaspora but if it is completed it will be a greater atrocity than the Holocaust. Put the hammer down and give peace and cooperation a chance to make the world better.
Just got an OD green X95 in 5.56 and I really like it, I especially like the rear weight distribution. With my S&W AR that thing is on the front heavy side, even more so with a fully loaded mag, and after running about 3 mags my support arm starts to tire. With my X95, though, after 3 mags I don't get even a hint of fatigue from my support arm, I feel like I could shoot it all day and not get tired. Right now, if I had to reach in my safe to choose a home defence rifle or a rifle to bring to the range, my first choice would be my X95, the compact size and rear weight bias just fit me better than my AR does.
T he bullpup design is excellent and vert versatile to work with. Lots of uses and can work for tank crews, paratroopers, which of course means also special elite troops who are both static line and free fall paratroopers. Great for mountain troops also. Gives the range of longer assault rifles, with less length. I am surprised that the US Army, Marines, Airforce has not adopted a bullpup over the M-4 / M-16 A2. Perhaps someday.
Hi, MAC.I know nothing of guns, never fired one. But I can tell you that one effect of moving the magazine closer is to move the weight of the gun more to the center of gravity. This will make the gun feel lighter and easier to handle, because now turning the gun becomes easier, so handling with one hand would be easier etc. So that would probably be at least one of the reasons for moving the magazine.
Fantastic video, and a really good review. Solidifies my decision on trying to get my hands on one. Wouldn't be surprised if the X95, after a few years, was given the title of best bullpup ever made. A small profile like that, AND it still has a 16.5" barrel? Nice.
+762x35mm not at all, still non restricted. The RCMP do not have the power to enact arbitrary bans, only to classify firearms according to the existing legal framework.

Thanks for the " review," Tim. The X95 looks like a very viable alternative to carbines of the same class. I think that I might see myself owning one in the near future.
+madsam07 last thing i heard was that shipping should start end of q1 to the youtubers and pre-orderers and early q2 the rifles should be available in stores (if they don't get sold out in seconds)
+Range Time That's understandable, what is not is them realizing dates than pushing it back. In my opinion, and many others, that is just bs. Plenty of people preordered the things, I sorta feel like they took those orders in order to use the money for the development. Of course I could be wrong about it, hell I'm not even sure IF people have preordered for sure just hear things on the down low. So take that with a grain of salf, but either way it is sorta bs to keep pushing back a date when you've already done so. Have a good one man!
I've been waiting for this video from you Tim ever since I heard about the x-95 coming to America, I really liked where you tore down the rifle so Tavor owners could compare the difference between the two...I'm very excited to see future video's from you on this rifle since I'm also a tavor lover interested in IWI's newest offering. One thing is for sure,I definitely knew you were excited, for you to stand out in that weather just to bring us first shots proves in my book you love this stuff!!! Thank you Tim
Awesome video MAC. Love the detailed treatment you give to various firearms (cost information, magazines, heat transfer and more). This is why I subscribe.
that's definitely a relief to see the bolt carrier group is the same as the Tavors. I got to handle one and some of the things I really liked was: the new position of the charging handle, it felt easier, faster, and tighter overall. that's something I wasn't a hundred percent happy with on the Tavor having to reach out almost to the full length of the rifle to use it. I also didn't care much for the position of the front qd on the original as it was sorta easy to whack your knuckles on. I also like the position of the mag release, it fit my hand rather well though I guess ultimately that's gonna depend on the individual. To be fair to the Tavor I never really had a problem with the old release other than it being rather large. I know many have voiced their concern about accidentally hitting it which I never have but I do acknowledge it as being a valid point. probably the nicest change in my eyes actually is the bolt release latch actually. that might seem odd to some but the old one just feels flimsy for one, a bit large, but most importantly it didn't really fit in there very well and given the trigger pack rests there I always assumed that would be a probably the biggest point of possible failure with debris being able to work it's way in there. that said, the x95 does a much better job of sealing that area off than the Tavor did. I left the store the other day a bit conflicted about buying one but I think I'll be adding it to the collection soon.
dont hold your breath it is a hew company considering the US military subsidizes half of the Israeli military you would think that we would get these at a discounted price
+Kevin Greenleaf Your first mark is NOT true. Second, IWI is a private company. And third, Israel is getting money to use on American made products, and in return its getting so much more. such as important intelligence for the USA security and cutting edge technology.
+Tom Loghrin i support this. mac theres not many indepth reviews on that optic and it seems to be super budget friendly. i heard the mount is wack. Itd be nice to see a quick video about that optic.
Thanks for the upload. I still won't be getting one of these though. Being a left-handed long gun shooter, I would need a left ejecting bolt to prevent brass and gas to the face. However, that would mean my right-handed friends and family shooting the Tavor or X95 would instead get brass and gas to their faces. They need to develop a bolt that can be swapped on the fly, or better yet a bottom ejecting gun.
+Blake Adamson But without wearing protective visors / glases the gun gasses are just too much for me in my opinion not being worth the $$$ spent on it!
departed402 i have a lefty modified tavor and LOVE it. Friends and familly? It's my rifle, they adapt. Like everything we lefty have to adapt for. Now getting an X95 with my Tavor? Probably not. Too $$ for my budget to get both (and optics).

@@umarmars47 That was ages ago buddy. We used to have rotation training with the Thai Army. Just tossed my papers 2 years back before covid hits.
Yep. This will be what gets me into bullpups. Seems like this fixes all the things that made me hesitate on the Tavor.
Another example of why yours videos rock Tim. Thanks man.
+whiskey papa Thank you for the continued support.
Diggin on your reviews. Just ordered 2 X95s based on what you had to say about them.
Thank you so much for disassembling the rifle. I enjoy seeing the bits and pieces.
It's a shame about the AUG, I've always had a soft spot for them. I should get one to keep it alive and it would look good with my Steyr Scout.
***** I understand that, Mac said that they are being bought less and less and I am worried they will and up like the FS2000.
Guys... Steyr AUG A3 or this rifle?
man the tavor for me....hands down
I just bought one, can't wait for it to arrive.
Amazing rifle. I didn't have noticed with one click chamber is loaded. awesome
I won't be able shoot it for a couple weeks but so far I'm really excited for this rifle, eventually I'll get a TRU-DOT RDS for it.
definitely a win from IWI!!!!! long live the Hebrew hammer!!!!!
Revolt2010 that sounds kind of ironic doesn't it?
They will stomp your butt like everyone that has tried.
Revolt2010 you try to nuke israel and they will nuke you back bud
Revolt2010 you gotta be kidding
Why would you say this Jared Davis?
There is no justification for apartheid states or commiting a slow motion genocide, especially not against a population with no military weapons and an age demographic of 40%+ 14 years or younger......
The religion inspired genocide of the Palestinians is no different than the pogroms waged against the Jews in the Diaspora but if it is completed it will be a greater atrocity than the Holocaust.
Put the hammer down and give peace and cooperation a chance to make the world better.
IWI had a nice booth at Shot Show 16. We cant wait to get a hold of a few of these.
I don't need it, I don't need it, I definitely don't need it.
I NEEEEEEED IT!!!!!!
I have the gen 1 with the Shootingsight trigger kit and Super Sabra Lightning Bow Trigger. Getting 4 pounds trigger pull.
And sold!!
Is it some trick of the camera (or my headphone) that the suppressed Tavor and the unsuppressed X95 sound basically the same?
I love everything about the new X95!!! I'm sold and can't wait to get my hands on one!!!
3:35 The suppressor makes the gunshot sounds like GBB airsoft guns, thats cool. :D
Thanks for the review. Everyone I know who has a Tavor luvs it. Looks like the X95 is destined for the same.
MAC I would like to see a video showing barrel swaps on the X95.
Excellent work done by Isreal 👍👍👍👍
Gorgeous rifle.
Fantastic video, and a really good review. Solidifies my decision on trying to get my hands on one. Wouldn't be surprised if the X95, after a few years, was given the title of best bullpup ever made. A small profile like that, AND it still has a 16.5" barrel? Nice.
Definitely looking forward to seeing these in Canuckistan.
+762x35mm not at all, still non restricted. The RCMP do not have the power to enact arbitrary bans, only to classify firearms according to the existing legal framework.
I bought the Tavor because you liked it so much. It's not disappointed. I love that bloody thing.
As a long time sub to this channel, and virtual Friend and supporter, I will gladly take your old Tavor off your hands, no problem, thank you, and your welcome!~~JohnPS THUMBS UP!
+WORRO01 Nope! I can't get rid of it. We've been too many places and shoot too much ammo together. :)
Always thought the military variant of the X95 rifle is pretty cool-looking. Neat little gun that looks like it means business.
Cant wait to have mine here in Canada
waiting for mine too!!!! supposed to be in february
Thanks for the " review," Tim. The X95 looks like a very viable alternative to carbines of the same class. I think that I might see myself owning one in the near future.
When will the Desert Tech video come? The MDR's should be shipping right now...
+Range Time Are you serious another redesigning??!?
+madsam07 last thing i heard was that shipping should start end of q1 to the youtubers and pre-orderers and early q2 the rifles should be available in stores (if they don't get sold out in seconds)
+Range Time ok, i'll find myself a cave where i can cry, and i will come out 2020, maybe the rifle is ready then...
+Range Time releasing?
I hope they come out with the left handed FDE version soon! I appreciate and enjoy your videos.
I really enjoyed your review. You may have converted me. Sadly, I don’t live in Free America so I’ll have to wait until I can move.
@Wookie Boy lol 😂. I love in California. America 🇺🇸, just not free America.
They also have a 9mm version of this rifle. saves a small fortune on ammo. Or just for kicks, Tanfoglio makes a bulpup in .22magnum for about $400.
I still wish I would've bought a FS2000 but I may pick up a PS-90 in the future...
+GrOuNdZeRo7777 Dangerous Things Channel me too man, such a damn tragedy. Shoulda woulda coulda
Best gun channel on youtube at this point. no one can compete with this man's quality and quantity of content
+5.56 Or 5.45? Thank you.
+Military Arms Channel no doubt
They should have made the rifle longer by giving it a longer barrel, not by lengthening it else where. A longer barrel is at least functional.
+AKDMB exactly what I was thinking--18 would have been great too, maybe they will offer in 18 in like they did the original
No, dumb.
Tovor is a 3 to 4 MOA riffle. At 300 yd is like 12 inches deviation.
Epic gun at a nice price for what you get.
I love my X95. 💕
Hey Tim, you could easily remedy that mag release problem by dremel'ing down the fence. That should allow you to use a straight finger to release it.
Damnit. I spent so much on the first one. How am I gonna sell this to my wife?
@@gulfrelay2249 the toughest decisions require the strongest of wills. Wife got to go! :D
give her the old one first.... then tell you need to by one for yourself so you'll have matching rifles.. girls love it when we match
Tell her to mind her own business.
What I do is give the wife FU money buy your gun of choice and give her cash for what she wants equivalent of what your gun of choice cost.
I want this rifle so bad.
Great video as always. Keep up the great work!
I'd put that geissle trigger pack(or however you spell it) in the X95 and the X95 trigger in the Tavor
I was thinkin' the same thing
Awesome video MAC. Love the detailed treatment you give to various firearms (cost information, magazines, heat transfer and more). This is why I subscribe.
+fjamato Thank you, it's greatly appreciated.
22:24 "I have really long features.... er... fingers."
I see what you did there
+PHOBOSakaSHELLY Hehe.
that's definitely a relief to see the bolt carrier group is the same as the Tavors.
I got to handle one and some of the things I really liked was:
the new position of the charging handle, it felt easier, faster, and tighter overall. that's something I wasn't a hundred percent happy with on the Tavor having to reach out almost to the full length of the rifle to use it.
*I'm crossing my fingers that this will cause a drop in Tavor prices*
me too
dont hold your breath it is a hew company considering the US military subsidizes half of the Israeli military you would think that we would get these at a discounted price
+Kevin Greenleaf Your first mark is NOT true.
Second, IWI is a private company.
And third, Israel is getting money to use on American made products, and in return its getting so much more. such as important intelligence for the USA security and cutting edge technology.
+Gun Runnerz It should. Only time will tell.
+Eduardo I also enjoyed gun rights and do not support Israel as they are extremely anti-gun they make New York California and the UK look like Arizona
"THAT'S WHAT i DO, I ABUSE THINGS"! That is why I watch your vid's.
+onlychevys Williams But, but, but, according to the trolls I'm a paid shill! :) Thanks for watching and the continued support.
Talk about the sight.
+Tom Loghrin i support this.
mac theres not many indepth reviews on that optic and it seems to be super budget friendly. i heard the mount is wack. Itd be nice to see a quick video about that optic.
What kind of flashlight is that on the Tavor? I just got an X95 two days ago and need a flashlight for it.
The X95 is a Tavor, and so is the TAR-21. The rifle family is "Tavor".
I was in the market for a Tavor and I'm glad I waited! This looks awesome!
Yayyyy, Tavor shilling. J/k, been looking forward to this one.
The tavor has ambidextrous eject ring port, you can change it easily
+Blake Adamson But without wearing protective visors / glases the gun gasses are just too much for me in my opinion not being worth the $$$ spent on it!
departed402 i have a lefty modified tavor and LOVE it. Friends and familly? It's my rifle, they adapt. Like everything we lefty have to adapt for.
Now getting an X95 with my Tavor? Probably not. Too $$ for my budget to get both (and optics).
4:43 A wild X95 appears!
